Isaiah 7:1And it came to pass in the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up to Jerusalem to war against it, but could not prevail against it. Now it came about in the days of Ahaz, the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin, the king of Aram, and Pekah, the son of Remaliah, the king of Israel, came up to Jerusalem to make war against it, but were not able to overcome it.And it came to pass in the days of Ahaz, the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, [that] Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, came up to Jerusalem to make war against it, but they were not able to fight against it.And it came to pass in the days of Achaz the son of Joathan, the son of Ozias, king of Juda, that Basin king of Syria, and Phacee the son of Romelia king of Israel, came up to Jerusalem, to fight against it: but they could not prevail over it.
Isaiah 7:2And it was told the house of David, saying, Syria is confederate with Ephraim. And his heart trembled, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the forest tremble with the wind. And word came to the family of David that Aram had put up its tents in Ephraim. And the king's heart, and the hearts of his people, were moved, like the trees of the wood shaking in the wind.And it was told the house of David saying, Syria is allied with Ephraim. Then his heart and the heart of his people shook, as the trees of the forest are shaken with the wind.And they told the house of David, saying: Syria hath rested upon Ephraim, and his heart was moved, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the woods are moved with the wind.
Isaiah 7:3Then said Jehovah unto Isaiah, Go forth now to meet Ahaz, thou, and Shear-jashub thy son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool, in the highway of the fuller's field; Then the Lord said to Isaiah, Go out now, you and Shear-jashub, your son, and you will come across Ahaz at the end of the stream flowing from the higher pool, in the highway of the washerman's field;And Jehovah said to Isaiah, Go out now to meet Ahaz, thou and thy son Shear-jashub, at the end of the aqueduct of the upper pool, on the highway of the fuller's field;And the Lord said to Isaias: Go forth to meet Achaz, thou and Jasub thy son that is left, to the conduit of the upper pool, a in the way of the fuller's held.
Isaiah 7:4and say unto him, Take heed, and be quiet; fear not, neither let thy heart be faint, because of these two tails of smoking firebrands, for the fierce anger of Rezin and Syria, and of the son of Remaliah. And say to him, Take care and be quiet; have no fear, and do not let your heart be feeble, because of these two ends of smoking fire-wood, because of the bitter wrath of Rezin and Aram, and of the son of Remaliah.and thou shalt say unto him, Take heed and be quiet; fear not, and let not thy heart faint before these two ends of smoking firebrands, because of the fierce anger of Rezin and Syria, and of the son of Remaliah.And thou shalt say to him: See thou be quiet: fear not, and let not thy heart be afraid of the two tails of these fire brands, smoking with the wrath of the fury of Rasin king of Syria, end of the son of Romelia.
Isaiah 7:5Because Syria, Ephraim, and the son of Remaliah, have purposed evil against thee, saying, Because Aram has made evil designs against you, saying,Inasmuch as Syria hath taken evil counsel against thee, Ephraim [also] and the son of Remaliah, saying,Because Syria hath taken counsel against thee, unto the evil of Ephraim and the son of Romelia, saying:
Isaiah 7:6Let us go up against Judah, and vex it, and let us make a breach therein for us, and set up a king in the midst of it, even the son of Tabeel; Let us go up against Judah, troubling her, and forcing our way into her, and let us put up a king in her, even the son of Tabeel:Let us go up against Judah, and harass it, and make a breach therein for us, and set up a king therein the son of Tabeal;Let us go up to Juda, and rouse it up, and draw it away to us, and make the son of Tabeel king in the midst thereof.
Isaiah 7:7thus saith the Lord Jehovah, It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass. This is the word of the Lord God: This design will not come about or be effected.thus saith the Lord Jehovah: It shall not stand, nor come to pass;Thus saith the Lord God: It shall not stand, and this shall not be.
Isaiah 7:8For the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin; and within threescore and five years shall Ephraim be broken in pieces, so that is shall not be a people: For the head of Aram is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin (and in sixty-five years from now Ephraim will be broken, and will no longer be a people):for the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin; and within sixty-five years shall Ephraim be broken, so as to be no [more a] people;But the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Basin: and within threescore and five years, Ephraim shall cease to be a people:
Isaiah 7:9and the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah's son. If ye will not believe, surely ye shall not be established. And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah's son. If you will not have faith, your kingdom will be broken.and the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah's son. If ye believe not, surely ye shall not be established.And the head of Ephraim is Samaria and the head of Samaria the son of Romelia. If you will not believe, you shall not continue.
Isaiah 7:10And Jehovah spake again unto Ahaz, saying, And Isaiah said again to Ahaz,And Jehovah spoke again to Ahaz, saying,And the Lord spoke again to Achaz, saying:
Isaiah 7:11Ask thee a sign of Jehovah thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above. Make a request to the Lord your God for a sign, a sign in the deep places of the underworld, or in the high heavens.Ask for thee a sign from Jehovah thy God; ask for it in the deep, or in the height above.Ask thee a sign of the Lord thy God either unto the depth of hell, or unto the height above.
Isaiah 7:12But Ahaz said, I will not ask, neither will I tempt Jehovah. But Ahaz said, I will not put the Lord to the test by making such a request.And Ahaz said, I will not ask, and will not tempt Jehovah.And Achaz said: I will not ask, and I will not tempt the Lord.
Isaiah 7:13And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David: Is it a small thing for you to weary men, that ye will weary my God also? And he said, Give ear now, O family of David: is it not enough that you are driving men to disgust? will you do the same to my God?And he said, Hear then, house of David: Is it a small matter for you to weary men, that ye weary also my God?And he said: Hear ye therefore, O house of David: Is it a small thing for you to be grievous to men, that you are grievous to my God also?
Isaiah 7:14Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. For this cause the Lord himself will give you a sign; a young woman is now with child, and she will give birth to a son, and she will give him the name Immanuel.Therefore will the Lord himself give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and shall bring forth a son, and call his name Immanuel.Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign. Behold a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and his name shall be called Emmanuel.
Isaiah 7:15Butter and honey shall he eat, when he knoweth to refuse the evil, and choose the good. Butter and honey will be his food, when he is old enough to make a decision between evil and good.Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and to choose the good.He shall eat butter and honey, that he may know to refuse the evil, and to choose the good.
Isaiah 7:16For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land whose two kings thou abhorrest shall be forsaken. For before the child is old enough to make a decision between evil and good, the land whose two kings you are now fearing will have become waste.For before the child knoweth to refuse the evil and to choose the good, the land whose two kings thou fearest shall be forsaken.For before the child know to refuse the evil, and to choose the good, the land which thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of the face of her two kings.
Isaiah 7:17Jehovah will bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon thy father's house, days that have not come, from the day that Ephraim departed from Judah-[even] the king of Assyria. The Lord is about to send on you, and on your people, and on your father's house, such a time of trouble as there has not been from the days of the separating of Ephraim from Judah; even the coming of the king of Assyria.Jehovah will bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon thy father's house, days which have not come since the day when Ephraim turned away from Judah [even] the king of Assyria.The Lord shall bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon the house of thy father, days that have not come since the time of the separation of Ephraim from Juda with the king of the Assyrians.
Isaiah 7:18And it shall come to pass in that day, that Jehovah will hiss for the fly that is in the uttermost part of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria. And it will be in that day that the Lord will make a piping sound for the fly which is in the end of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee which is in the land of Assyria.And it shall come to pass in that day, that Jehovah will hiss for the fly which is at the extremity of the streams of Egypt, and for the bee which is in the land of Assyria;And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall hiss for the fly, that is in the uttermost parts of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria.
Isaiah 7:19And they shall come, and shall rest all of them in the desolate valleys, and in the clefts of the rocks, and upon all thorn-hedges, and upon all pastures. And they will come, covering all the waste valleys, and the holes of the rocks, and the thorns, and all the watering-places.and they shall come and settle all of them in the desolate valleys, and in the holes of the rocks, and on all thorn-bushes, and on all the pastures.And they shall come, and shall all of them rest in the torrents of the valleys, and in the holes of the rocks, and upon all places set with shrubs, and in all hollow places.
Isaiah 7:20In that day will the Lord shave with a razor that is hired in the parts beyond the River, [even] with the king of Assyria, the head and the hair of the feet; and it shall also consume the beard. In that day will the Lord take away the hair of the head and of the feet, as well as the hair of the face, with a blade got for a price from the other side of the River; even with the king of Assyria.In that day will the Lord, with a razor which is hired beyond the river, with the king of Assyria, shave the head and the hair of the feet, yea, the beard also will it take away.In that day the Lord shall shave with a razor that is hired by them that are beyond the river, by the king of the Assyrians, the head and the hairs of the feet, and the whole beard.
Isaiah 7:21And it shall come to pass in that day, that a man shall keep alive a young cow, and two sheep; And it will be in that day that a man will give food to a young cow and two sheep;And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] a man shall nourish a young cow and two sheep,And it shall come to pass in that day, that a man shall nourish a young cow, and two sheep.
Isaiah 7:22and it shall come to pass, that because of the abundance of milk which they shall give he shall eat butter: for butter and honey shall every one eat that is left in the midst of the land. And they will give so much milk that he will be able to have butter for his food: for butter and honey will be the food of all who are still living in the land.and it shall come to pass, from the abundance of milk they shall give, [that] he shall eat butter; for every one that remaineth in the midst of the land shall eat butter and honey.And for the abundance of milk he shall eat butter: for butter and honey shall every one eat that shall be left in the midst of the land.
Isaiah 7:23And it shall come to pass in that day, that every place, where there were a thousand vines at a thousand silverlings, shall be for briers and thorns. And it will be in that day that in every place where before there were a thousand vines valued at a thousand shekels of silver, there will be nothing but blackberries and thorns.And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] every place, where there were a thousand vines at a thousand silver pieces, shall become briars and thorns:And it shall come to pass in that day, that every place where there were a thousand vines, at a thousand pieces of silver, shall become thorns and briers.
Isaiah 7:24With arrows and with bow shall one come thither, because all the land shall be briers and thorns. Men will come there with bows and arrows, because all the land will be full of blackberries and thorns.with arrows and with the bow shall they come thither, for the whole land shall become briars and thorns.With arrows and with bows they shall go in thither: for briars and thorns shall be in all the land.
Isaiah 7:25And all the hills that were digged with the mattock, thou shalt not come thither for fear of briers and thorns; but it shall be for the sending forth of oxen, and for the treading of sheep. And they will send out the oxen and the sheep on all the hills which before were worked with the spade, ... fear of blackberries and thorns.And all mountains that have been dug up with the hoe thither will they not come, from fear of briars and thorns; and they shall be for the sending forth of oxen, and for the treading of small cattle.And as for all the hills that shall be raked with a rake, the fear of thorns and briers shall not come thither, but they shall be for the ox to feed on, and the lesser cattle to tread upon.
