| Isaiah 29:1 | Ho Ariel, Ariel, the city where David encamped! add ye year to year; let the feasts come round: | Ho! Ariel, Ariel, the town against which David made war; put year to year, let the feasts come round: | Woe to Ariel, to Ariel, the city where David dwelt! add ye year to year; let them kill sacrifices. | Woe to Ariel, to Ariel the city which David took: year is added to year: the solemnities are at an end. |
| Isaiah 29:2 | then will I distress Ariel, and there shall be mourning and lamentation; and she shall be unto me as Ariel. | And I will send trouble on Ariel, and there will be weeping and cries of grief; and she will be to me as Ariel. | Yet I will distress Ariel, and there shall be heaviness and sorrow: and it shall be unto me as Ariel. | And I will make a trench about Ariel, and it shall be in sorrow and mourning, and it shall be to me as Ariel. |

Shall the potter be esteemed as clay; that the thing made should say of him that made it, He made me not; or the thing formed say of him that formed it, He hath no understanding? | You are turning things upside down! Is the wet earth the same to you as the one who is forming it? will the thing made say of him who made it, He made me not: or the thing formed say of him who gave it form, He has no knowledge? | Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter's clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding? | This thought of yours is perverse: as if the clay should think against the potter, and the work should say to the maker thereof: Thou madest me not: or the thing framed should say to him that fashioned it: Thou understandest not. |
