Job 11:1Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said, Then Zophar the Naamathite made answer and said,Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,Then Sophar the Naamathite answered, and said:
Job 11:2Should not the multitude of words be answered? And should a man full of talk be justified? Are all these words to go unanswered? and is a man seen to be right because he is full of talk?Should not the multitude of words be answered? and should a man full of talk be justified?Shall not he that speaketh much, hear also? or shall a man full of talk be justified?
Job 11:3Should thy boastings make men hold their peace? And when thou mockest, shall no man make thee ashamed? Are your words of pride to make men keep quiet? and are you to make sport, with no one to put you to shame?Should thy lies make men hold their peace? and when thou mockest, shall no man make thee ashamed?Shall men hold their peace to thee only? and when thou hast mocked others, shall no man confute thee?
Job 11:4For thou sayest, My doctrine is pure, And I am clean in thine eyes. You may say, My way is clean, and I am free from sin in your eyes. For thou hast said, My doctrine is pure, and I am clean in thine eyes. For thou hast said: My word is pure, and I am clean in thy sight.
Job 11:5But oh that God would speak, And open his lips against thee, But if only God would take up the word, opening his lips in argument with you;But oh that God would speak, and open his lips against thee; And I wish that God would speak with thee, and would open his lips to thee,
Job 11:6And that he would show thee the secrets of wisdom! For he is manifold in understanding. Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth. And would make clear to you the secrets of wisdom, and the wonders of his purpose! And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, that they are double to that which is! Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth. That he might shew thee the secrets of wisdom, and that his law is manifold, and thou mightest understand that he exacteth much less of thee, than thy iniquity deserveth.
Job 11:7Canst thou by searching find out God? Canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection? Are you able to take God's measure, to make discovery of the limits of the Ruler of all?Canst thou by searching find out God? canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection?Peradventure thou wilt comprehend the steps of God, and wilt find out the Almighty perfectly?
Job 11:8It is high as heaven; what canst thou do? Deeper than Sheol; what canst thou know? They are higher than heaven; what is there for you to do? deeper than the underworld, and outside your knowledge; It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know?He is higher than heaven, and what wilt thou do ? he is deeper than hell, and how wilt thou know?
Job 11:9The measure thereof is longer than the earth, And broader than the sea. Longer in measure than the earth, and wider than the sea.The measure thereof is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.The measure of him is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.
Job 11:10If he pass through, and shut up, And all unto judgment, then who can hinder him? If he goes on his way, shutting a man up and putting him to death, who may make him go back from his purpose? If he cut off, and shut up, or gather together, then who can hinder him?If he shall overturn all things, or shall press them together, who shall contradict him?
Job 11:11For he knoweth false men: He seeth iniquity also, even though he consider it not. For in his eyes men are as nothing; he sees evil and takes note of it.For he knoweth vain men: he seeth wickedness also; will he not then consider it?For he knoweth the vanity of men, and when he seeth iniquity, doth he not consider it?
Job 11:12But vain man is void of understanding, Yea, man is born [as] a wild ass's colt. And so a hollow-minded man will get wisdom, when a young ass of the field gets teaching. For vain man would be wise, though man be born like a wild ass's colt.A vain man is lifted up into pride, and thinketh himself born free like a wild ass's colt.
Job 11:13If thou set thy heart aright, And stretch out thy hands toward him; But if you put your heart right, stretching out your hands to him;If thou prepare thine heart, and stretch out thine hands toward him;Rut thou hast hardened thy heart, and hast spread thy hands to him.
Job 11:14If iniquity be in thy hand, put it far away, And let not unrighteousness dwell in thy tents. If you put far away the evil of your hands, and let no wrongdoing have a place in your tent;If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles. If thou wilt put away from thee the iniquity that is in thy hand, and lot not injustice remain in thy tabernacle:
Job 11:15Surely then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; Yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear: Then truly your face will be lifted up, with no mark of sin, and you will be fixed in your place without fear:For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear:Then mayst thou lift up thy face without spot, and thou shalt be steadfast, and shalt not fear.
Job 11:16For thou shalt forget thy misery; Thou shalt remember it as waters that are passed away, For your sorrow will go from your memory, like waters flowing away:Because thou shalt forget thy misery, and remember it as waters that pass away:Thou shalt also forget misery, and remember it only as waters that are passed away.
Job 11:17And [thy] life shall be clearer than the noonday; Though there be darkness, it shall be as the morning. And your life will be brighter than day; though it is dark, it will become like the morning. And thine age shall be clearer than the noonday; thou shalt shine forth, thou shalt be as the morning. And brightness like that of the noonday, shall arise to thee at evening: and when thou shalt think thyself consumed, thou shalt rise as the day star.
Job 11:18And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; Yea, thou shalt search [about thee], and shalt take thy rest in safety. And you will be safe because there is hope; after looking round, you will take your rest in quiet; And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; yea, thou shalt dig about thee, and thou shalt take thy rest in safety. And thou shalt have confidence, hope being set before thee, and being buried thou shalt sleep secure.
Job 11:19Also thou shalt lie down, and none shall make thee afraid; Yea, many shall make suit unto thee. Sleeping with no fear of danger; and men will be desiring to have grace in your eyes; Also thou shalt lie down, and none shall make thee afraid; yea, many shall make suit unto thee. Thou shalt rest, and there shall be none to make thee afraid: and many shall entreat thy face.
Job 11:20But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, And they shall have no way to flee; And their hope shall be the giving up of the ghost. But the eyes of the evil-doers will be wasting away; their way of flight is gone, and their only hope is the taking of their last breath. But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall not escape, and their hope shall be as the giving up of the ghost. But the eyes of the wicked shall decay, and the way to escape shall fail them, and their hope the abomination of the soul.
