| Job 35:1 | Moreover Elihu answered and said, | And Elihu made answer and said, | Elihu spoke moreover, and said, | Moreover Eliu spoke these words : |
| Job 35:2 | Thinkest thou this to be [thy] right, [Or] sayest thou, My righteousness is more than God's, | Does it seem to you to be right, and righteousness before God, to say, | Thinkest thou this to be right, that thou saidst, My righteousness is more than God's? | Doth thy thought seem right to thee, that thou shouldst say : I am more just than God? |
| Job 35:3 | That thou sayest, What advantage will it be unto thee? [And], What profit shall I have, more than if I had sinned? | What profit is it to me, and how am I better off than if I had done wrong? | For thou saidst, What advantage will it be to thee? and, What profit shall I have, if I be cleansed from my sin? | For thou saidst : That which is right doth not please thee : or what will it profit thee if I sin? |
| Job 35:4 | I will answer thee, And thy companions with thee. | I will make answer to you and to your friends: | I will answer thee, and thy companions with thee. | Therefore I will answer thy words, and thy friends with thee. |
| Job 35:5 | Look unto the heavens, and see; And behold the skies, which are higher than thou. | Let your eyes be turned to the heavens, and lifted up to see the skies; they are higher than you. | Look to the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds which are higher than thou. | Look up to heaven and see, and behold the sky, that it is higher than thee. |
| Job 35:6 | If thou hast sinned, what effectest thou against him? And if thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou unto him? | If you have done wrong, is he any the worse for it? and if your sins are great in number, what is it to him? | If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? or if thy transgressions are multiplied, what doest thou to him? | If thou sin, what shalt thou hurt him? and if thy iniquities be multiplied, what shalt thou do against him? |
| Job 35:7 | If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? Or what receiveth he of thy hand? | If you are upright, what do you give to him? or what does he take from your hand? | If thou art righteous, what givest thou to him? or what receiveth he from thy hand? | And if thou do justly, what shalt thou give him, or what shall he receive of thy hand? |
| Job 35:8 | Thy wickedness [may hurt] a man as thou art; And thy righteousness [may profit] a son of man. | Your evil-doing may have an effect on a man like yourself, or your righteousness on a son of man. | Thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art: and thy righteousness may profit the son of man. | Thy wickedness may hurt a man that is like thee : and thy justice may help the son of man. |
| Job 35:9 | By reason of the multitude of oppressions they cry out; They cry for help by reason of the arm of the mighty. | Because the hand of the cruel is hard on them, men are making sounds of grief; they are crying out for help because of the arm of the strong. | By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make the oppressed to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty. | By reason of the multitude of oppressions they shall cry out : and shall wail for the violence of the arm of tyrants. |
| Job 35:10 | But none saith, Where is God my Maker, Who giveth songs in the night, | But no one has said, Where is God my Maker, who gives songs in the night; | But none saith, Where is God my maker, who giveth songs in the night; | And he hath not said : Where is God, who made me, who hath given songs in the night? |
| Job 35:11 | Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, And maketh us wiser than the birds of the heavens? | Who gives us more knowledge than the beasts of the earth, and makes us wiser than the birds of the heaven? | Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven? | Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and instructeth us more than the fowls of the air. |
| Job 35:12 | There they cry, but none giveth answer, Because of the pride of evil men. | There they are crying out because of the pride of the evil-doers, but he gives them no answer. | There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men. | There shall they cry, and he will not hear, because of the pride of evil men. |
| Job 35:13 | Surely God will not hear an empty [cry], Neither will the Almighty regard it. | But God will not give ear to what is false, or the Ruler of all take note of it; | Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it. | God therefore will not hear in vain, and the Almighty will look into the causes of every one. |
| Job 35:14 | How much less when thou sayest thou beholdest him not, The cause is before him, and thou waitest for him! | How much less when you say that you do not see him; that the cause is before him, and you are waiting for him. | Although thou sayest thou shalt not see him, yet judgment is before him; therefore trust thou in him. | Yea when thou shalt say : He considereth not : be judged before him, and expect him. |
| Job 35:15 | But now, because he hath not visited in his anger, Neither doth he greatly regard arrogance; | And now ... ; | But now, because it is not so, he hath visited in his anger; yet he knoweth it not in great extremity: | For he doth not now bring on his fury, neither doth he revenge wickedness exceedingly. |
| Job 35:16 | Therefore doth Job open his mouth in vanity; He multiplieth words without knowledge. | And Job's mouth is open wide to give out what is of no profit, increasing words without knowledge. | Therefore doth Job open his mouth in vain; he multiplieth words without knowledge. | Therefore Job openeth his mouth in vain, and multiplieth words without knowledge. |
