Psalms 47:1Oh clap your hands, all ye peoples; Shout unto God with the voice of triumph. <To the chief music-maker. A Psalm. Of the sons of Korah.> O make a glad noise with your hands, all you peoples; letting your voices go up to God with joy.To the chief Musician, A Psalm for the sons of Korah. O clap your hands, all ye people; shout to God with the voice of triumph.A psalm of a canticle, for the sons of Core, on the second day of the week.
Psalms 47:2For Jehovah Most High is terrible; He is a great King over all the earth. For the Lord Most High is to be feared; he is a great King over all the earth.For the LORD most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth.Great is the Lord, and exceedingly to be praised in the city of our God, in his holy mountain.
Psalms 47:3He subdueth peoples under us, And nations under our feet. He will put down the peoples under us, and the nations under our feet.He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet.With the joy of the whole earth is mount Sion founded, on the sides of the north, the city of the great king.
Psalms 47:4He chooseth our inheritance for us, The glory of Jacob whom he loved. Selah He will give us our heritage, the glory of Jacob who is dear to him. (Selah.)He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellence of Jacob whom he loved. Selah.In her houses shall God be known, when he shall protect her.
Psalms 47:5God is gone up with a shout, Jehovah with the sound of a trumpet. God has gone up with a glad cry, the Lord with the sound of the horn.God is gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.For behold the kings of the earth assembled themselves: they gathered together.
Psalms 47:6Sing praise to God, sing praises: Sing praises unto our King, sing praises. Give praises to God, make songs of praise; give praises to our King, make songs of praise.Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises to our King, sing praises.So they saw, and they wondered, they were troubled, they were moved:
Psalms 47:7For God is the King of all the earth: Sing ye praises with understanding. For God is the King of all the earth; make songs of praise with knowledge.For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.trembling took hold of them. There were pains as of a woman in labour.
Psalms 47:8God reigneth over the nations: God sitteth upon his holy throne. God is the ruler over the nations; God is on the high seat of his holy rule.God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness.With a vehement wind thou shalt break in pieces the ships of Tharsis.
Psalms 47:9The princes of the peoples are gathered together [To be] the people of the God of Abraham: For the shields of the earth belong unto God; He is greatly exalted. Psalm 48 A Song; a Psalm of the sons of Korah. The rulers of the peoples have come together, with the people of the God of Abraham; because the powers of the earth are God's: he is lifted up on high.The princes of the people are assembled, even the people of the God of Abraham: for the shields of the earth belong to God: he is greatly exalted.As we have heard, so have we seen, in the city of the Lord of hosts, in the city of our God: God hath founded it for ever.
