| Jeremiah 30:1 | The word that came to Jeremiah from Jehovah, saying, | The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying, | | This is the word that came to Jeremias from the Lord, saying: |
| Jeremiah 30:2 | Thus speaketh Jehovah, the God of Israel, saying, Write thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book. | The Lord, the God of Israel, has said, Put down in a book all the words which I have said to you. | | Thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel, saying: Write thee all the words that I have spoken to thee, in a book. |
| Jeremiah 30:3 | For, lo, the days come, saith Jehovah, that I will turn again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith Jehovah; and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it. | For see, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will let the fate of my people Israel and Judah be changed, says the Lord: and I will make them come back to the land which I gave to their fathers, so that they may take it for their heritage. | | For behold the days come, saith the Lord, and I will bring again the captivity of my people Israel and Juda, saith the Lord: and I will cause them to return to the land which I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it. |
| Jeremiah 30:4 | And these are the words that Jehovah spake concerning Israel and concerning Judah. | And these are the words which the Lord said about Israel and about Judah. | | And these are the words that the Lord hath spoken to Israel and to Juda: |
| Jeremiah 30:5 | For thus saith Jehovah: We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace. | This is what the Lord has said: A voice of shaking fear has come to our ears, of fear and not of peace. | | For thus saith the Lord: We have heard a voice of terror : there is fear and no peace. |
| Jeremiah 30:6 | Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child: wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness? | Put the question and see if it is possible for a man to have birth-pains: why do I see every man with his hands gripping his sides, as a woman does when the pains of birth are on her, and all faces are turned green? | | Ask ye, and see if a man bear children ? why then have I seen every man with his hands on his loins, like a woman in labour, and all faces are turned yellow? |
| Jeremiah 30:7 | Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it. | Ha! for that day is so great that there is no day like it: it is the time of Jacob's trouble: but he will get salvation from it. | | Alas, for that day is great, neither is there the like to it; and it Is the time of tribulation to Jacob, but he shall be saved out of it. |
| Jeremiah 30:8 | And it shall come to pass in that day, saith Jehovah of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds; and strangers shall no more make him their bondman; | For it will come about on that day, says the Lord of armies, that his yoke will be broken off his neck, and his bands will be burst; and men of strange lands will no longer make use of him as their servant: | | And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst his bands: and strangers shall no more rule over him: |
| Jeremiah 30:9 | but they shall serve Jehovah their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them. | But they will be servants to the Lord their God and to David their king, whom I will give back to them. | | But they shall serve the Lord their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up to them. |
| Jeremiah 30:10 | Therefore fear thou not, O Jacob my servant, saith Jehovah; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be quiet and at ease, and none shall make him afraid. | So have no fear, O Jacob, my servant, says the Lord; and do not be troubled, O Israel: for see, I will make you come back from far away, and your seed from the land where they are prisoners; and Jacob will come back, and will be quiet and at peace, and no one will give him cause for fear. | | Therefore fear thou not, my servant Jacob, saith the Lord, neither be dismayed, O Israel: for behold, I will save thee from a country afar off, and thy seed from the land of their captivity: and Jacob shall return, and be at rest, and abound with all good things, and there shall be none whom he may fear: |
| Jeremiah 30:11 | For I am with thee, saith Jehovah, to save thee: for I will make a full end of all the nations whither I have scattered thee, but I will not make a full end of thee; but I will correct thee in measure, and will in no wise leave thee unpunished. | For I am with you, says the Lord, to be your saviour: for I will put an end to all the nations where I have sent you wandering, but I will not put an end to you completely: though with wise purpose I will put right your errors, and will not let you go quite without punishment. | | For I am with thee, saith the Lord, to save thee: for I will utterly consume all the nations, among which I have scattered thee: but I will not utterly consume thee: but I will chastise thee in judgment, that thou mayst not seem to thyself innocent. |
| Jeremiah 30:12 | For thus saith Jehovah, Thy hurt is incurable, and thy wound grievous. | For the Lord has said, Your disease may not be made well and your wound is bitter. | | For thus saith the Lord: Thy bruise is incurable, thy wound is very grievous. |
| Jeremiah 30:13 | There is none to plead thy cause, that thou mayest be bound up: thou hast no healing medicines. | There is no help for your wound, there is nothing to make you well. | | There is none to judge thy judgment to bind it up : thou hast no healing medicines. |
| Jeremiah 30:14 | All thy lovers have forgotten thee; they seek thee not: for I have wounded thee with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the greatness of thine iniquity, because thy sins were increased. | Your lovers have no more thought for you, they go after you no longer; for I have given you the wound of a hater, even cruel punishment; | | All thy lovers have forgotten thee, and will not seek after thee: for I have wounded thee with the wound of an enemy, with a cruel chastisement: by reason of the multitude of thy iniquities, thy sins are hardened. |
| Jeremiah 30:15 | Why criest thou for thy hurt? thy pain is incurable: for the greatness of thine iniquity, because thy sins were increased, I have done these things unto thee. | Why are you crying for help because of your wound? for your pain may never be taken away: because your evil-doing was so great and because your sins were increased, I have done these things to you. | | Why criest thou for thy affliction? thy sorrow is incurable: for the multitude of thy iniquity, and for thy hardened sins I have done these things to thee. |
| Jeremiah 30:16 | Therefore all they that devour thee shall be devoured; and all thine adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity; and they that despoil thee shall be a spoil, and all that prey upon thee will I give for a prey. | For this cause, all those who take you for their food will themselves become your food; and all your attackers, every one of them, will be taken prisoners; and those who send destruction on you will come to destruction; and all those who take away your goods by force will undergo the same themselves. | | Therefore all they that devour thee shall be devoured: and all thy enemies shall be carried into captivity : and they that waste thee shall be wasted, and all that prey upon thee will I give for a prey. |
| Jeremiah 30:17 | For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith Jehovah; because they have called thee an outcast, [saying], It is Zion, whom no man seeketh after. | For I will make you healthy again and I will make you well from your wounds, says the Lord; because they have given you the name of an outlaw, saying, It is Zion cared for by no man. | | For I will close up thy scar, and will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the Lord. Because they have called thee, O Sion, an outcast: This is she that hath none to seek after her. |
| Jeremiah 30:18 | Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will turn again the captivity of Jacob's tents, and have compassion on his dwelling-places; and the city shall be builded upon its own hill, and the palace shall be inhabited after its own manner. | The Lord has said, See, I am changing the fate of the tents of Jacob, and I will have pity on his houses; the town will be put up on its hill, and the great houses will be living-places again. | | Thus saith the Lord: Behold I bring back the captivity of the pavilions of Jacob, and will have pity on his houses, and the city shall be built in her place, and the temple shall be found according to the order thereof. |
| Jeremiah 30:19 | And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small. | And from them will go out praise and the sound of laughing: and I will make them great in number, and they will not become less; and I will give them glory, and they will not be small. | | And out of them shall come forth praise, and the voice of them that play: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be made few : and I will glorify them, and they shall not be lessened. |
| Jeremiah 30:20 | Their children also shall be as aforetime, and their congregation shall be established before me; and I will punish all that oppress them. | And their children will be as they were in the old days, and the meeting of the people will have its place before me, and I will send punishment on all who are cruel to them. | | And their children shall be as from the beginning, and their assembly be permanent before me : and I will against all that afflict them. |
| Jeremiah 30:21 | And their prince shall be of themselves, and their ruler shall proceed from the midst of them; and I will cause him to draw near, and he shall approach unto me: for who is he that hath had boldness to approach unto me? saith Jehovah. | And their chief will be of their number; their ruler will come from among themselves; and I will let him be present before me, so that he may come near to me: for who may have strength of heart to come near me? says the Lord. | | And their leader shall be of themselves: and their prince shall come forth from the midst of them : and I will bring him near, and he shall come to me: for who is this that setteth his heart to approach to me, saith the Lord? |
| Jeremiah 30:22 | And ye shall be my people, and I will be your God. | And you will be my people, and I will be your God. | | And you shall be my people: and I will be your God. |
| Jeremiah 30:23 | Behold, the tempest of Jehovah, [even his] wrath, is gone forth, a sweeping tempest: it shall burst upon the head of the wicked. | See, the storm-wind of the Lord, even the heat of his wrath, has gone out, a rolling storm, bursting on the heads of the evil-doers. | | Behold the whirlwind of the Lord, his fury going forth, a violent storm, it shall rest upon the head of the wicked. |
| Jeremiah 30:24 | The fierce anger of Jehovah shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the intents of his heart: in the latter days ye shall understand it. | The wrath of the Lord will not be turned back till he has done, till he has put into effect, the purposes of his heart: in days to come you will have full knowledge of this. | | The Lord will not turn away the wrath of his indignation, till he have executed and performed the thought o his heart: in the latter days you shall understand these things. |
