Job 42:1Then Job answered Jehovah, and said, And Job said in answer to the Lord,Then Job answered Yahweh,And Job answered Jehovah and said,
Job 42:2I know that thou canst do all things, And that no purpose of thine can be restrained. I see that you are able to do every thing, and to give effect to all your designs."I know that you can do all things, And that no purpose of yours can be restrained.I know that thou canst do everything, and that thou canst be hindered in no thought of thine.
Job 42:3Who is this that hideth counsel without knowledge? Therefore have I uttered that which I understood not, Things too wonderful for me, which I knew not. Who is this who makes dark the purpose of God by words without knowledge? For I have been talking without knowledge about wonders not to be searched out.You asked, 'Who is this who hides counsel without knowledge?' Therefore I have uttered that which I did not understand, Things too wonderful for me, which I didn't know.Who is he that obscureth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered what I did not understand; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.
Job 42:4Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak; I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me. Give ear to me, and I will say what is in my mind; I will put questions to you, and you will give me the answers. You said, 'Listen, now, and I will speak; I will question you, and you will answer me.'Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak: I will demand of thee, and inform me.
Job 42:5I had heard of thee by the hearing of the ear; But now mine eye seeth thee: Word of you had come to my ears, but now my eye has seen you.I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear, But now my eye sees you.I had heard of thee by the hearing of the ear, but now mine eye seeth thee:
Job 42:6Wherefore I abhor [myself], And repent in dust and ashes. For this cause I give witness that what I said is false, and in sorrow I take my seat in the dust. Therefore I abhor myself, And repent in dust and ashes."Wherefore I abhor [myself], and repent in dust and ashes.
Job 42:7And it was so, that, after Jehovah had spoken these words unto Job, Jehovah said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends; for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath. And it came about, after he had said these words to Job, that the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite, I am very angry with you and your two friends, because you have not said what is right about me, as my servant Job has.It was so, that after Yahweh had spoken these words to Job, Yahweh said to Eliphaz the Temanite, "My wrath is kindled against you, and against your two friends; for you have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job has.And it came to pass after Jehovah had spoken these words to Job, that Jehovah said to Eliphaz the Temanite, Mine anger is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends; for ye have not spoken rightly of me, like my servant Job.
Job 42:8Now therefore, take unto you seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt-offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you; for him will I accept, that I deal not with you after your folly; for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath. And now, take seven oxen and seven sheep, and go to my servant Job, and give a burned offering for yourselves, and my servant Job will make prayer for you, that I may not send punishment on you; because you have not said what is right about me, as my servant Job has.Now therefore, take to yourselves seven bulls and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you, for I will accept him, that I not deal with you according to your folly. For you have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job has."And now, take for yourselves seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt-offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you, for him will I accept: lest I deal with you [after your] folly, for ye have not spoken of me rightly, like my servant Job.
Job 42:9So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did according as Jehovah commanded them: and Jehovah accepted Job. And Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite, went and did as the Lord had said. And the Lord gave ear to Job.So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did what Yahweh commanded them, and Yahweh accepted Job.Then Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite, went and did according as Jehovah had said unto them; and Jehovah accepted Job.
Job 42:10And Jehovah turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: and Jehovah gave Job twice as much as he had before. And the Lord made up to Job for all his losses, after he had made prayer for his friends: and all Job had before was increased by the Lord twice as much.Yahweh turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends. Yahweh gave Job twice as much as he had before. And Jehovah turned the captivity of Job, when he had prayed for his friends; and Jehovah gave Job twice as much as he had before.
Job 42:11Then came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him concerning all the evil that Jehovah had brought upon him: every man also gave him a piece of money, and every one a ring of gold. And all his brothers and sisters, and his friends of earlier days, came and took food with him in his house; and made clear their grief for him, and gave him comfort for all the evil which the Lord had sent on him; and they all gave him a bit of money and a gold ring. Then came there to him all his brothers, and all his sisters, and all those who had been of his acquaintance before, and ate bread with him in his house. They comforted him, and consoled him concerning all the evil that Yahweh had brought on him. Everyone also gave him a piece of money, and everyone a ring of gold. And all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, came to him, and they ate bread with him in his house, and they condoled with him, and comforted him concerning all the evil that Jehovah had brought upon him; and every one gave him a piece of money, and every one a golden ring.
Job 42:12So Jehovah blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: And he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she-asses. And the Lord's blessing was greater on the end of Job's life than on its start: and so he came to have fourteen thousand sheep and goats, and six thousand camels, and two thousand oxen, and a thousand she-asses.So Yahweh blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning. He had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand female donkeys. And Jehovah blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning; and he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she-asses.

Job 42:14And he called the name of the first, Jemimah: and the name of the second, Keziah; and the name of the third, Keren-happuch. And he gave the first the name of Jemimah, the second Keziah, and the third Keren-happuch;He called the name of the first, Jemimah; and the name of the second, Keziah; and the name of the third, Keren-happuch.And he called the name of the first, Jemimah; and the name of the second, Keziah; and the name of the third, Keren-happuch.
Job 42:15And in all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job: and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren. And there were no women so beautiful as the daughters of Job in all the earth: and their father gave them a heritage among their brothers. In all the land were no women found so beautiful as the daughters of Job. Their father gave them an inheritance among their brothers. And in all the land were no women found [so] fair as the daughters of Job; and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren.
Job 42:16And after this Job lived a hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons' sons, [even] four generations. And after this Job had a hundred and forty years of life, and saw his sons, and his sons' sons, even four generations. After this Job lived one hundred forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons' sons, to four generations. And Job lived after this a hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons' sons, four generations.
Job 42:17So Job died, being old and full of days. And Job came to his end, old and full of days.So Job died, being old and full of days. BOOK I Psalm 1And Job died, old and full of days.
