| Job 15:3 | Should he reason with unprofitable talk, Or with speeches wherewith he can do no good? | Will he make arguments with words in which is no profit, and with sayings which have no value? | Should he reason with unprofitable talk, Or with speeches with which he can do no good? | Thou reprovest him by words, who is not equal to thee, and thou speakest that which is not good for thee. |
| Job 15:4 | Yea, thou doest away with fear, And hinderest devotion before God. | Truly, you make the fear of God without effect, so that the time of quiet worship before God is made less by your outcry. | Yes, you do away with fear, And hinder devotion before God. | As much as is in thee, thou hast made void fear, and hast taken away prayers from before God. |
| Job 15:5 | For thine iniquity teacheth thy mouth, And thou choosest the tongue of the crafty. | For your mouth is guided by your sin, and you have taken the tongue of the false for yourself. | For your iniquity teaches your mouth, And you choose the language of the crafty. | For thy iniquity hath taught thy mouth, and thou imitatest the tongue of blasphemers. |
| Job 15:6 | Thine own mouth condemneth thee, and not I; Yea, thine own lips testify against thee. | It is by your mouth, even yours, that you are judged to be in the wrong, and not by me; and your lips give witness against you. | Your own mouth condemns you, and not I; Yes, your own lips testify against you. | Thy own mouth shall condemn thee, and not I: and thy own lips shall answer thee. |
| Job 15:7 | Art thou the first man that was born? Or wast thou brought forth before the hills? | Were you the first man to come into the world? or did you come into being before the hills? | "Are you the first man who was born? Or were you brought forth before the hills? | Art thou the first man that was born, or wast thou made before the hills ? |
| Job 15:8 | Hast thou heard the secret counsel of God? And dost thou limit wisdom to thyself? | Were you present at the secret meeting of God? and have you taken all wisdom for yourself? | Have you heard the secret counsel of God? Do you limit wisdom to yourself? | Hast thou heard God's counsel, and shall his wisdom be inferior to thee? |
| Job 15:9 | What knowest thou, that we know not? What understandest thou, which is not in us? | What knowledge have you which we have not? is there anything in your mind which is not in ours? | What do you know, that we don't know? What do you understand, which is not in us? | What knowest thou that we are ignorant of? what dost thou understand that we know not? |
| Job 15:10 | With us are both the gray-headed and the very aged men, Much elder than thy father. | With us are men who are grey-haired and full of years, much older than your father. | With us are both the gray-headed and the very aged men, Much elder than your father. | There are with us also aged and ancient men, much elder than thy fathers. |
| Job 15:11 | Are the consolations of God too small for thee, Even the word that is gentle toward thee? | Are the comforts of God not enough for you, and the gentle word which was said to you? | Are the consolations of God too small for you, Even the word that is gentle toward you? | Is it a great matter that God should comfort thee? but thy wicked words hinder this. |
| Job 15:12 | Why doth thy heart carry thee away? And why do thine eyes flash, | Why is your heart uncontrolled, and why are your eyes lifted up; | Why does your heart carry you away? Why do your eyes flash, | Why doth thy heart elevate thee, and why dost thou stare with thy eyes, as if they were thinking great things ? |
| Job 15:13 | That against God thou turnest thy spirit, And lettest words go out of thy mouth? | So that you are turning your spirit against God, and letting such words go out of your mouth? | That you turn your spirit against God, And let such words go out of your mouth? | Why doth thy spirit swell against God, to utter such words out of thy mouth ? |
| Job 15:14 | What is man, that he should be clean? And he that is born of a woman, that he should be righteous? | What is man, that he may be clean? and how may the son of woman be upright? | What is man, that he should be clean? He who is born of a woman, that he should be righteous? | What is man that he should be without spot, and he that is born of a woman that he should appear just? |
| Job 15:15 | Behold, he putteth no trust in his holy ones; Yea, the heavens are not clean in his sight: | Truly, he puts no faith in his holy ones, and the heavens are not clean in his eyes; | Behold, he puts no trust in his holy ones; Yes, the heavens are not clean in his sight: | Behold among his saints none is unchangeable, and the heavens are not pure in his sight. |
| Job 15:16 | How much less one that is abominable and corrupt, A man that drinketh iniquity like water! | How much less one who is disgusting and unclean, a man who takes in evil like water! | How much less one who is abominable and corrupt, A man who drinks iniquity like water! | How much more is man abominable, and unprofitable, who drinketh iniquity like water? |
| Job 15:17 | I will show thee, hear thou me; And that which I have seen I will declare: | Take note and give ear to my words; and I will say what I have seen: | "I will show you, listen to me; That which I have seen I will declare: | I will shew thee, hear me : and I mill tell thee what I have seen. |

| Job 15:19 | Unto whom alone the land was given, And no stranger passed among them): | For only to them was the land given, and no strange people were among them:) | To whom alone the land was given, And no stranger passed among them): | To whom alone the earth was given, and no stranger hath passed among them. |
| Job 15:20 | The wicked man travaileth with pain all his days, Even the number of years that are laid up for the oppressor. | The evil man is in pain all his days, and the number of the years stored up for the cruel is small. | The wicked man travails with pain all his days, Even the number of years that are laid up for the oppressor. | The wicked man is proud all his days, and the number of the years of his tyranny is uncertain. |
| Job 15:21 | A sound of terrors is in his ears; In prosperity the destroyer shall come upon him. | A sound of fear is in his ears; in time of peace destruction will come on him: | A sound of terrors is in his ears; In prosperity the destroyer shall come on him. | The sound of dread is always in his ears: and when there is peace, he always suspecteth treason. |
| Job 15:22 | He believeth not that he shall return out of darkness, And he is waited for of the sword. | He has no hope of coming safe out of the dark, and his fate will be the sword; | He doesn't believe that he shall return out of darkness, He is waited for by the sword. | He believeth not that he may return from darkness to light, looking round about for the sword on every side. |
| Job 15:23 | He wandereth abroad for bread, [saying], Where is it? He knoweth that the day of darkness is ready at his hand. | He is wandering about in search of bread, saying, Where is it? and he is certain that the day of trouble is ready for him: | He wanders abroad for bread, saying, 'Where is it?' He knows that the day of darkness is ready at his hand. | When he moveth himself to seek bread, he knoweth that the day of darkness is ready at his hand. |
| Job 15:24 | Distress and anguish make him afraid; They prevail against him, as a king ready to the battle. | He is greatly in fear of the dark day, trouble and pain overcome him: | Distress and anguish make him afraid; They prevail against him, as a king ready to the battle. | Tribulation shall terrify him, and distress shall surround him, as a king that is prepared for the battle. |
| Job 15:25 | Because he hath stretched out his hand against God, And behaveth himself proudly against the Almighty; | Because his hand is stretched out against God, and his heart is lifted up against the Ruler of all, | Because he has stretched out his hand against God, And behaves himself proudly against the Almighty; | For he hath stretched out his hand against God, and hath strengthened himself against the Almighty. |
| Job 15:26 | He runneth upon him with a [stiff] neck, With the thick bosses of his bucklers; | Running against him like a man of war, covered by his thick breastplate; even like a king ready for the fight, | He runs at him with a stiff neck, With the thick shields of his bucklers; | He hath run against him with his neck raised up, and is armed with a fat neck. |
| Job 15:27 | Because he hath covered his face with his fatness, And gathered fat upon his loins; | Because his face is covered with fat, and his body has become thick; | Because he has covered his face with his fatness, And gathered fat on his loins. | Fatness hath covered his face, and the fat hangeth down on his sides. |
| Job 15:28 | And he hath dwelt in desolate cities, In houses which no man inhabited, Which were ready to become heaps; | And he has made his resting-place in the towns which have been pulled down, in houses where no man had a right to be, whose fate was to become masses of broken walls. | He has lived in desolate cities, In houses which no one inhabited, Which were ready to become heaps. | He hath dwelt in desolate cities, and in desert houses that are reduced into heaps. |
| Job 15:29 | He shall not be rich, neither shall his substance continue, Neither shall their possessions be extended on the earth. | He does not get wealth for himself, and is unable to keep what he has got; the heads of his grain are not bent down to the earth. | He shall not be rich, neither shall his substance continue, Neither shall their possessions be extended on the earth. | He shall not be enriched, neither shall his substance continue, neither shall he push his root in the earth. |
| Job 15:30 | He shall not depart out of darkness; The flame shall dry up his branches, And by the breath of [God's] mouth shall he go away. | He does not come out of the dark; his branches are burned by the flame, and the wind takes away his bud. | He shall not depart out of darkness; The flame shall dry up his branches, By the breath of God's mouth shall he go away. | He shall not depart out of darkness: the flame shall dry up his branches, and he shall be taken away by the breath of his own month. |
| Job 15:31 | Let him not trust in vanity, deceiving himself; For vanity shall be his recompense. | Let him not put his hope in what is false, falling into error: for he will get deceit as his reward. | Let him not trust in emptiness, deceiving himself; For emptiness shall be his reward. | He shall not believe, being vainly deceived by error, that he may be redeemed with any price. |
| Job 15:32 | It shall be accomplished before his time, And his branch shall not be green. | His branch is cut off before its time, and his leaf is no longer green. | It shall be accomplished before his time. His branch shall not be green. | Before his days be full he shall perish: and his hands shall wither away. |
| Job 15:33 | He shall shake off his unripe grape as the vine, And shall cast off his flower as the olive-tree. | He is like a vine whose grapes do not come to full growth, or an olive-tree dropping its flowers. | He shall shake off his unripe grape as the vine, And shall cast off his flower as the olive-tree. | He shall be blasted as a vine when its grapes are in the first flower, and as an olive tree that casteth its flower. |
| Job 15:34 | For the company of the godless shall be barren, And fire shall consume the tents of bribery. | For the band of the evil-doers gives no fruit, and the tents of those who give wrong decisions for reward are burned with fire. | For the company of the godless shall be barren, And fire shall consume the tents of bribery. | For the congregation of the hypocrite is barren, and fire shall devour their tabernacles, who love to take bribes. |
| Job 15:35 | They conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity, And their heart prepareth deceit. | Evil has made them with child, and they give birth to trouble; and the fruit of their body is shame for themselves. | They conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity. Their heart prepares deceit." | He hath conceived sorrow, and hath brought forth iniquity, and his womb prepareth deceits. |
