| Proverbs 11:1 | A false balance is an abomination to Jehovah; But a just weight is his delight. | Scales of deceit are hated by the Lord, but a true weight is his delight. | A false balance is an abomination to Yahweh, But accurate weights are his delight. | A deceitful balance is an abomination before the Lord: and a just weight is his will. |
| Proverbs 11:2 | When pride cometh, then cometh shame; But with the lowly is wisdom. | When pride comes, there comes shame, but wisdom is with the quiet in spirit. | When pride comes, then comes shame, But with humility comes wisdom. | Where pride is, there also shall be reproach: but where humility is, there also is wisdom. |
| Proverbs 11:3 | The integrity of the upright shall guide them; But the perverseness of the treacherous shall destroy them. | The righteousness of the upright will be their guide, but the twisted ways of the false will be their destruction. | The integrity of the upright shall guide them, But the perverseness of the treacherous shall destroy them. | The simplicity of the just shall guide them: and the deceitfulness of the wicked shall destroy them. |
| Proverbs 11:4 | Riches profit not in the day of wrath; But righteousness delivereth from death. | Wealth is of no profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness keeps a man safe from death. | Riches don't profit in the day of wrath, But righteousness delivers from death. | Riches shall not profit in the day of revenge: but justice shall deliver from death. |
| Proverbs 11:5 | The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way; But the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness. | The righteousness of the good man will make his way straight, but the sin of the evil-doer will be the cause of his fall. | The righteousness of the blameless will direct his way, But the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness. | The justice of the upright shall make his way prosperous: and the wicked man shall fall by his own wickedness. |
| Proverbs 11:6 | The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them; But the treacherous shall be taken in their own iniquity. | The righteousness of the upright will be their salvation, but the false will themselves be taken in their evil designs. | The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them, But the unfaithful will be trapped by evil desires. | The justice of the righteous shall deliver them: and the unjust shall be caught in their own snares. |
| Proverbs 11:7 | When a wicked man dieth, [his] expectation shall perish; And the hope of iniquity perisheth. | At the death of an upright man his hope does not come to an end, but the hope of the evil-doer comes to destruction. | When a wicked man dies, hope perishes, And expectation of power comes to nothing. | When the wicked man is dead, there shall be no hope any more: and the expectation of the solicitous shall perish. |
| Proverbs 11:8 | The righteous is delivered out of trouble, And the wicked cometh in his stead. | The upright man is taken out of trouble, and in his place comes the sinner. | The righteous is delivered out of trouble, And the wicked takes his place. | The just is delivered out of distress: and the wicked shall be given up for him. |
| Proverbs 11:9 | With his mouth the godless man destroyeth his neighbor; But through knowledge shall the righteous be delivered. | With his mouth the evil man sends destruction on his neighbour; but through knowledge the upright are taken out of trouble. | With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor, But the righteous will be delivered through knowledge. | The dissembler with his mouth deceiveth his friend: but the just shall be delivered by knowledge. |
| Proverbs 11:10 | When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth; And when the wicked perish, there is shouting. | When things go well for the upright man, all the town is glad; at the death of sinners, there are cries of joy. | When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices. When the wicked perish, there is shouting. | When it goeth well with the just the city shall rejoice: and when the wicked perish there shall be praise. |
| Proverbs 11:11 | By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted; But it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked. | By the blessing of the upright man the town is made great, but it is overturned by the mouth of the evil-doer. | By the blessing of the upright, the city is exalted, But it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked. | By the blessing of the just the city shall be exalted: and by the mouth of the wicked it shall be overthrown. |
| Proverbs 11:12 | He that despiseth his neighbor is void of wisdom; But a man of understanding holdeth his peace. | He who has a poor opinion of his neighbour has no sense, but a wise man keeps quiet. | One who despises his neighbor is void of wisdom, But a man of understanding holds his peace. | He that despiseth his friend, is mean of heart: but the wise man will hold his peace. |
| Proverbs 11:13 | He that goeth about as a tale-bearer revealeth secrets; But he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth a matter. | He who goes about talking of others makes secrets public, but the true-hearted man keeps things covered. | One who brings gossip betrays a confidence, But one who is of a trustworthy spirit is one who keeps a secret. | He that walketh deceitfully, revealeth secrets: but he that is faithful, concealeth the thing committed to him by his friend. |
| Proverbs 11:14 | Where no wise guidance is, the people falleth; But in the multitude of counsellors there is safety. | When there is no helping suggestion the people will have a fall, but with a number of wise guides they will be safe. | Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls, But in the multitude of counselors there is victory. | Where there is no governor, the people shall fall: but there is safety where there is much counsel. |
| Proverbs 11:15 | He that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it; But he that hateth suretyship is secure. | He who makes himself responsible for a strange man will undergo much loss; but the hater of such undertakings will be safe. | He who is collateral for a stranger will suffer for it, But he who refuses pledges of collateral is secure. | He shall be afflicted with evil, that is surety for a stranger: but he that is aware of the snares, shall be secure. |
| Proverbs 11:16 | A gracious woman obtaineth honor; And violent men obtain riches. | A woman who is full of grace is honoured, but a woman hating righteousness is a seat of shame: those hating work will undergo loss, but the strong keep their wealth. | A gracious woman obtains honor, But violent men obtain riches. | A gracious woman shall find glory: and the strong shall have riches. |
| Proverbs 11:17 | The merciful man doeth good to his own soul; But he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh. | The man who has mercy will be rewarded, but the cruel man is the cause of trouble to himself. | The merciful man does good to his own soul, But he who is cruel troubles his own flesh. | A merciful man doth good to his own soul: but he that is cruel casteth off even his own kindred. |
| Proverbs 11:18 | The wicked earneth deceitful wages; But he that soweth righteousness [hath] a sure reward. | The sinner gets the payment of deceit; but his reward is certain who puts in the seed of righteousness. | The wicked earns deceitful wages, But he who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward. | The wicked maketh an unsteady work: but to him that soweth justice, there is a faithful reward. |
| Proverbs 11:19 | He that is stedfast in righteousness [shall attain] unto life; And he that pursueth evil [doeth it] to his own death. | So righteousness gives life; but he who goes after evil gets death for himself. | He who is truly righteous gets life. He who pursues evil gets death. | Clemency prepareth life: and the pursuing of evil things, death. |
| Proverbs 11:20 | They that are perverse in heart are an abomination to Jehovah; But such as are perfect in [their] way are his delight. | The uncontrolled are hated by the Lord, but those whose ways are without error are his delight | Those who are perverse in heart are an abomination to Yahweh, But those whose ways are blameless are his delight. | A perverse heart is abominable to the Lord: and his will is in them that walk sincerely. |
| Proverbs 11:21 | [Though] hand [join] in hand, the evil man shall not be unpunished; But the seed of the righteous shall be delivered. | Certainly the evil-doer will not go free from punishment, but the seed of the upright man will be safe. | Most assuredly, the evil man will not be unpunished, But the seed of the righteous will be delivered. | Hand in hand the evil man shall not be innocent: but the seed of the just shall be saved. |
| Proverbs 11:22 | [As] a ring of gold in a swine's snout, [So is] a fair woman that is without discretion. | Like a ring of gold in the nose of a pig, is a beautiful woman who has no sense. | Like a gold ring in a pig's snout, Is a beautiful woman who lacks discretion. | A golden ring in a swine's snout, a woman fair and foolish. |
| Proverbs 11:23 | The desire of the righteous is only good; [But] the expectation of the wicked is wrath. | The desire of the upright man is only for good, but wrath is waiting for the evil-doer. | The desire of the righteous is only good. The expectation of the wicked is wrath. | The desire of the just is all good: the expectation of the wicked is indignation. |
| Proverbs 11:24 | There is that scattereth, and increaseth yet more; And there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but [it tendeth] only to want. | A man may give freely, and still his wealth will be increased; and another may keep back more than is right, but only comes to be in need. | There is one who scatters, and increases yet more. There is one who withholds more than is appropriate, but gains poverty. | Some distribute their own goods, and grow richer: others take away what is not their own, and are always in want. |
| Proverbs 11:25 | The liberal soul shall be made fat; And he that watereth shall be watered also himself. | He who gives blessing will be made fat, but the curser will himself be cursed. | The liberal soul shall be made fat. He who waters shall be watered also himself. | The soul which blesseth, shall be made fat: and he that inebriateth, shall be inebriated also himself. |
| Proverbs 11:26 | He that withholdeth grain, the people shall curse him; But blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it. | He who keeps back grain will be cursed by the people; but a blessing will be on the head of him who lets them have it for a price. | He who withholds grain, the people will curse him, But blessing will be on the head of him who sells it. | He that hideth up corn, shall be cursed among the people: but a blessing upon the head of them that sell. |
| Proverbs 11:27 | He that diligently seeketh good seeketh favor; But he that searcheth after evil, it shall come unto him. | He who, with all his heart, goes after what is good is searching for grace; but he who is looking for trouble will get it. | He who diligently seeks good seeks favor, But he who searches after evil, it shall come to him. | Well doth he rise early who seeketh good things; but he that seeketh after evil things shall be oppressed by them. |
| Proverbs 11:28 | He that trusteth in his riches shall fall; But the righteous shall flourish as the green leaf. | He who puts his faith in wealth will come to nothing; but the upright man will be full of growth like the green leaf. | He who trusts in his riches will fall, But the righteous shall flourish as the green leaf. | He that trusteth in his riches shall fall: but the just shall spring up as a green leaf. |
| Proverbs 11:29 | He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind; And the foolish shall be servant to the wise of heart. | The troubler of his house will have the wind for his heritage, and the foolish will be servant to the wise-hearted. | He who troubles his own house shall inherit the wind. The foolish shall be servant to the wise of heart. | He that troubleth his own house, shall inherit the winds: and the fool shall serve the wise. |
| Proverbs 11:30 | The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; And he that is wise winneth souls. | The fruit of righteousness is a tree of life, but violent behaviour takes away souls. | The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life. He who is wise wins souls. | The fruit of the just man is a tree of life: and he that gaineth souls, is wise. |
| Proverbs 11:31 | Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: How much more the wicked and the sinner! | If the upright man is rewarded on earth, how much more the evil-doer and the sinner! | Behold, the righteous shall be repaid in the earth; How much more the wicked and the sinner! | If the just man receive in the earth, how much more the wicked and the sinner. |
