| Proverbs 13:1 | A wise son [heareth] his father's instruction; But a scoffer heareth not rebuke. | A wise son is a lover of teaching, but the ears of the haters of authority are shut to sharp words. | A wise son listens to his father's instruction, But a scoffer doesn't listen to rebuke. | A wise son heareth the doctrine of his father: but he that is a scorner, beareth not when he is reproved. |
| Proverbs 13:2 | A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth; But the soul of the treacherous [shall eat] violence. | A man will get good from the fruit of his lips, but the desire of the false is for violent acts. | By the fruit of his lips, a man enjoys good things; But the unfaithful crave violence. | Of the fruit of his own mouth shall a man be filled with good things: but the soul of transgressors is wicked. |

| Proverbs 13:25 | The righteous eateth to the satisfying of his soul; But the belly of the wicked shall want. | The upright man has food to the full measure of his desire, but there will be no food for the stomach of evil-doers. | The righteous one eats to the satisfying of his soul, But the belly of the wicked goes hungry. | The just eateth and filleth his soul: but the belly of the wicked is never to be filled. |
