Psalms 56:1Be merciful unto me, O God; for man would swallow me up: All the day long he fighting oppresseth me. <To the chief music-maker; put to Jonath elem rehokim. Of David. Michtam. When the Philistines took him in Gath.> Have mercy on me, O God, for man is attempting my destruction; every day he makes cruel attacks against me.To the Overseer. `On the Dumb Dove far off.` A secret treasure of David, in the Philistines` taking hold of him in Gath. Favour me, O God, for man swallowed me up, All the day fighting he oppresseth me,Be merciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up; he fighting daily oppresseth me.
Psalms 56:2Mine enemies would swallow me up all the day long; For they are many that fight proudly against me. My haters are ever ready to put an end to me; great numbers are lifting themselves up against me.Mine enemies have swallowed up all the day, For many [are] fighting against me, O most High,Mine enemies would daily swallow me up: for they be many that fight against me, O thou most High.
Psalms 56:3What time I am afraid, I will put my trust in thee. In the time of my fear, I will have faith in you.The day I am afraid I am confident toward Thee.What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.
Psalms 56:4In God (I will praise his word), In God have I put my trust, I will not be afraid; What can flesh do unto me? In God will I give praise to his word; in God have I put my hope; I will have no fear of what flesh may do to me.In God I praise His word, in God I have trusted, I fear not what flesh doth to me.In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.
Psalms 56:5All the day long they wrest my words: All their thoughts are against me for evil. Every day they make wrong use of my words; all their thoughts are against me for evil.All the day they wrest my words, Concerning me all their thoughts [are] for evil,Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts are against me for evil.
Psalms 56:6They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, They mark my steps, Even as they have waited for my soul. They come together, they are waiting in secret places, they take note of my steps, they are waiting for my soul.They assemble, they hide, they watch my heels, When they have expected my soul.They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul.
Psalms 56:7Shall they escape by iniquity? In anger cast down the peoples, O God. By evil-doing they will not get free from punishment. In wrath, O God, let the peoples be made low.By iniquity they escape, In anger the peoples put down, O God.Shall they escape by iniquity? in thine anger cast down the people, O God.
Psalms 56:8Thou numberest my wanderings: Put thou my tears into thy bottle; Are they not in thy book? You have seen my wanderings; put the drops from my eyes into your bottle; are they not in your record?My wandering Thou hast counted, Thou place Thou my tear in Thy bottle, Are they not in Thy book?Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?
Psalms 56:9Then shall mine enemies turn back in the day that I call: This I know, that God is for me. When I send up my cry to you, my haters will be turned back; I am certain of this, for God is with me.Then turn back do mine enemies in the day I call. This I have known, that God [is] for me.When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me.
Psalms 56:10In God (I will praise [his] word), In Jehovah (I will praise [his] word), In God will I give praise to his word; in the Lord will I give praise to his word.In God I praise the word, In Jehovah I praise the word.In God will I praise his word: in the LORD will I praise his word.
Psalms 56:11In God have I put my trust, I will not be afraid; What can man do unto me? In God have I put my hope, I will have no fear of what man may do to me.In God I trusted, I fear not what man doth to me,In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.
Psalms 56:12Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render thank-offerings unto thee. I keep the memory of my debt to you, O God; I will give you the offerings of praise.On me, O God, [are] Thy vows, I repay thank-offerings to Thee.Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee.
Psalms 56:13For thou hast delivered my soul from death: [Hast thou] not [delivered] my feet from falling, That I may walk before God In the light of the living? Psalm 57 For the Chief Musician; [set to] Al-tash-heth. [A Psalm] of David. Michtam; when he fled from Saul, in the cave. Because you have taken my soul from the power of death; and kept my feet from falling, so that I may be walking before God in the light of life.For Thou hast delivered my soul from death, Dost Thou not my feet from falling? To walk habitually before God in the light of the living!For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?
