Psalms 42:1As the hart panteth after the water brooks, So panteth my soul after thee, O God. {To the chief Musician. An instruction; of the sons of Korah.} As the hart panteth after the water-brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.A psalm for David. Judge me, O God, and distinguish my cause from the nation that is not holy : deliver me from the unjust and deceitful man.As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.
Psalms 42:2My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: When shall I come and appear before God? My soul thirsteth for God, for the living ùGod: when shall I come and appear before God?For thou art God my strength : why hast thou cast me off? and why do I go sorrowful whilst the enemy afflicteth me?My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?
Psalms 42:3My tears have been my food day and night, While they continually say unto me, Where is thy God? My tears have been my bread day and night, while they say unto me all the day, Where is thy God?Send forth thy light and thy truth : they have conducted me, and brought me unto thy holy hill, and into thy tabernacles. My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?
Psalms 42:4These things I remember, and pour out my soul within me, How I went with the throng, and led them to the house of God, With the voice of joy and praise, a multitude keeping holyday. These things I remember and have poured out my soul within me: how I passed along with the multitude, how I went on with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, a festive multitude. And I will go in to the altar of God : to God who giveth joy to my youth. When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.
Psalms 42:5Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And [why] art thou disquieted within me? Hope thou in God; for I shall yet praise him [For] the help of his countenance. Why art thou cast down, my soul, and art disquieted in me? hope in God; for I shall yet praise him, [for] the health of his countenance. To thee, O God my God, I will give praise upon the harp : why art thou sad, O my soul? and why dost thou disquiet me?Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.
Psalms 42:6O my God, my soul is cast down within me: Therefore do I remember thee from the land of the Jordan, And the Hermons, from the hill Mizar. My God, my soul is cast down within me; therefore do I remember thee from the land of the Jordan, and the Hermons, from mount Mizar.Hope in God, for I will still give praise to him : the salvation of my countenance, and my God.O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar.
Psalms 42:7Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterfalls: All thy waves and thy billows are gone over me. Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy cataracts; all thy breakers and thy billows are gone over me.Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.
Psalms 42:8[Yet] Jehovah will command his lovingkindness in the day-time; And in the night his song shall be with me, [Even] a prayer unto the God of my life. In the day-time will Jehovah command his loving-kindness, and in the night his song shall be with me, a prayer unto the ùGod of my life.Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.
Psalms 42:9I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? Why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? I will say unto ùGod my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
Psalms 42:10As with a sword in my bones, mine adversaries reproach me, While they continually say unto me, Where is thy God? As with a crushing in my bones mine adversaries reproach me, while they say unto me all the day, Where is thy God?As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is thy God?
Psalms 42:11Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted within me? Hope thou in God; for I shall yet praise him, [Who is] the help of my countenance, and my God.
