Job 24:1Why are times not laid up by the Almighty? And why do not they that know him see his days? Why are not times treasured up with the Almighty? why do not they that know him see his days?Times are not hid from the Almighty: but they that know him, know not his days.Why, seeing times are not hid from the Almighty, do they that know him not see his days?
Job 24:2There are that remove the landmarks; They violently take away flocks, and feed them. Job 24:3They drive away the ass of the fatherless; They take the widow's ox for a pledge. Job 24:4They turn the needy out of the way: The poor of the earth all hide themselves. Job 24:13These are of them that rebel against the light; They know not the ways thereof, Nor abide in the paths thereof. There are those that rebel against the light; they know not the ways thereof, nor abide in the paths thereof.They have been rebellious to the light, they have not known his ways, neither have they returned by his paths.They are of those that rebel against the light; they know not its ways, nor abide in its paths.
Job 24:14The murderer riseth with the light; He killeth the poor and needy; And in the night he is as a thief. The murderer riseth with the light, killeth the afflicted and needy, and in the night is as a thief.The murderer riseth at the very break of day, he killeth the needy, and the poor man: but in the night he will be as a thief.The murderer rising with the light killeth the poor and needy, and in the night is as a thief.
Job 24:15The eye also of the adulterer waiteth for the twilight, Saying, No eye shall see me: And he disguiseth his face. And the eye of the adulterer waiteth for the twilight, saying, No eye shall see me; and he putteth a covering on [his] face.The eye of the adulterer observeth darkness, saying: No eye shall see me: and he will cover his face.The eye also of the adulterer waiteth for the twilight, saying, No eye shall see me: and disguiseth his face.
Job 24:16In the dark they dig through houses: They shut themselves up in the day-time; They know not the light. Job 24:17For the morning is to all of them as thick darkness; For they know the terrors of the thick darkness. For the morning is to them all [as] the shadow of death; for they are familiar with the terrors of the shadow of death.If the morning suddenly appear, it is to them the shadow of death: and they walk in darkness as if it were in light.For the morning is to them even as the shades of death: if one knoweth them, they are in the terrors of the shades of death.
Job 24:18Swiftly they [pass away] upon the face of the waters; Their portion is cursed in the earth: They turn not into the way of the vineyards. He is swift on the face of the waters; their portion is cursed on the earth: he turneth not unto the way of the vineyards.He is light upon the face of the water: cursed be his portion on the earth, let him not walk by the way of the vineyards.He is swift as the waters; their portion is cursed in the earth: he beholdeth not the way of the vineyards.
Job 24:19Drought and heat consume the snow waters: [So doth] Sheol [those that] have sinned. Drought and heat consume snow waters; so doth Sheol those that have sinned.Let him pass from the snow waters to excessive heat, and his sin even to hell.Drouth and heat consume the snow-waters: so doth the grave those who have sinned.
Job 24:20The womb shall forget him; The worm shall feed sweetly on him; He shall be no more remembered; And unrighteousness shall be broken as a tree. The womb forgetteth him; the worm feedeth sweetly on him: he shall be no more remembered; and unrighteousness is broken as a tree,Let mercy forget him: may worms be his sweetness: let him be remembered no more, but be broken in pieces as an unfruitful tree.The womb shall forget him; the worm shall feed sweetly on him; he shall be no more remembered; and wickedness shall be broken as a tree.
Job 24:21He devoureth the barren that beareth not, And doeth not good to the widow. He that despoileth the barren that beareth not, and doeth not good to the widow:For he hath fed the barren that beareth not, and to the widow he hath done no good.He oppresseth the barren that beareth not: and doeth not good to the widow.
Job 24:22Yet [God] preserveth the mighty by his power: He riseth up that hath no assurance of life. He draweth also the mighty with his power; he riseth up, and no [man] is sure of life.He hath pulled down the strong by his might: and when he standeth up, he shall not trust to his life.He draweth also the mighty with his power: he riseth up, and no man is sure of life.
Job 24:23[God] giveth them to be in security, and they rest thereon; And his eyes are upon their ways. [God] setteth him in safety, and he resteth thereon; but his eyes are upon their ways.God hath given him place for penance, and he abuseth it unto pride: but his eyes are upon his ways.Though it is given him to be in safety, on which he resteth; yet his eyes are upon their ways.
Job 24:24They are exalted; yet a little while, and they are gone; Yea, they are brought low, they are taken out of the way as all others, And are cut off as the tops of the ears of grain. They are exalted for a little, and are no more; they are laid low; like all [other] are they gathered, and are cut off as the tops of the ears of corn.They are lifted up for a little while and shall not stand, and shall be brought down as all things, and shall be taken away, and as the tops of the ears of corn they shall be broken.They are exalted for a little while, but are gone and brought low; they are taken out of the way as all others, and cut off as the tops of the ears of corn.
Job 24:25And if it be not so now, who will prove me a liar, And make my speech nothing worth? If it be not so now, who will make me a liar, and make my speech nothing worth?And if it be not so, who can convince me that I have lied, and set my words before God?And if it is not so now, who will make me a liar, and make my speech of no worth?
