Psalms 59:1Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God: Set me on high from them that rise up against me. {To the chief Musician. 'Destroy not.' Of David. Michtam; when Saul sent, and they watched the house to kill him.} Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God; secure me on high from them that rise up against me.Unto the end, for them that shall be changed, for the inscription of a title, to David himself, for doctrine,To the Overseer. `Destroy not,` by David. A secret treasure, in Saul`s sending, and they watch the house to put him to death. Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God, From my withstanders set me on high.
Psalms 59:2Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, And save me from the bloodthirsty men. Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from men of blood.when he set fire to Mesopotamia of Syria and Sobal and Joab returned and slew of Edom, in the vale of the saltpits, twelve thousand men.Deliver me from workers of iniquity, And from men of blood save me.
Psalms 59:3For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul; The mighty gather themselves together against me: Not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O Jehovah. For behold, they lie in wait for my soul; strong ones are gathered against me: not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O Jehovah.O God, thou hast cast us off, and hast destroyed us; thou hast been angry, and hast had mercy on us.For, lo, they laid wait for my soul, Assembled against me are strong ones, Not my transgression nor my sin, O Jehovah.
Psalms 59:4They run and prepare themselves without [my] fault: Awake thou to help me, and behold. They run and prepare themselves without [my] fault: awake to meet me, and behold.Thou hast moved the earth, and hast troubled it: heal thou the breaches thereof, for it has been moved.Without punishment they run and prepare themselves, Stir up to meet me, and see.
Psalms 59:5Even thou, O Jehovah God of hosts, the God of Israel, Arise to visit all the nations: Be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah Yea, do thou, Jehovah, the God of hosts, the God of Israel, arise to visit all the nations: be not gracious to any plotters of iniquity. Selah.Thou hast shewn thy people hard things; thou hast made us drink wine of sorrow.And Thou, Jehovah, God of Hosts, God of Israel, Awake to inspect all the nations. Favour not any treacherous dealers of iniquity. Selah.
Psalms 59:6They return at evening, they howl like a dog, And go round about the city. They return in the evening; they howl like a dog, and go round about the city:Thou hast given a warning to them that fear thee: that they may flee from before the bow: That thy beloved may be delivered.They turn back at evening, They make a noise like a dog, And go round about the city.
Psalms 59:7Behold, they belch out with their mouth; Swords are in their lips: For who, [say they], doth hear? Behold, they belch out with their mouth; swords are in their lips: for who [say they] doth hear?Save me with thy right hand, and hear me.Lo, they belch out with their mouths, Swords [are] in their lips, for `Who heareth?`
Psalms 59:8But thou, O Jehovah, wilt laugh at them; Thou wilt have all the nations in derision. But thou, Jehovah, wilt laugh at them; thou wilt have all the nations in derision.God hath spoken in his holy place: I will rejoice, and I will divide Sichem; and will mete out the vale of tabernacles.And Thou, O Jehovah dost laugh at them, Thou dost mock at all the nations.
Psalms 59:9[Because of] his strength I will give heed unto thee; For God is my high tower. Their strength! ... I will take heed to thee; for God is my high fortress.Galaad is mine, and Manasses is mine: and Ephraim is the strength of my head. Juda is my king:O my Strength, unto Thee I take heed, For God [is] my tower the God of my kindness.
Psalms 59:10My God with his lovingkindness will meet me: God will let me see [my desire] upon mine enemies. God, whose loving-kindness will come to meet me, God shall let me see [my desire] upon mine enemies.Moab is the pot of my hope. Into Edom will I stretch out my shoe: to me the foreigners are made subject.God doth go before me, He causeth me to look on mine enemies.
Psalms 59:11Slay them not, lest my people forget: Scatter them by thy power, and bring them down, O Lord our shield. Slay them not, lest my people forget; by thy power make them wander, and bring them down, O Lord, our shield.Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?Slay them not, lest my people forget, Shake them by Thy strength, And bring them down, O Lord our shield.
Psalms 59:12[For] the sin of their mouth, [and] the words of their lips, Let them even be taken in their pride, And for cursing and lying which they speak. [Because of] the sin of their mouth, the word of their lips, let them even be taken in their pride; and because of cursing and lying which they speak.Wilt not thou, O God, who hast cast us off? and wilt not thou, O God, go out with our armies?The sin of their mouth [is] a word of their lips, And they are captured in their pride, And from the curse and lying they recount.
Psalms 59:13Consume them in wrath, consume them, so that they shall be no more: And let them know that God ruleth in Jacob, Unto the ends of the earth. Selah Make an end in wrath, make an end, that they may be no more; that they may know that God ruleth in Jacob, unto the ends of the earth. Selah.Give us help from trouble: for vain is the salvation of man.Consume in fury, consume and they are not, And they know that God is ruling in Jacob, To the ends of the earth. Selah.
Psalms 59:14And at evening let them return, let them howl like a dog, And go round about the city. And in the evening they shall return, they shall howl like a dog, and go round about the city.Through God we shall do mightily: and he shall bring to nothing them that afflict us.And they turn back at evening, They make a noise like a dog, And they go round about the city.
Psalms 59:15They shall wander up and down for food, And tarry all night if they be not satisfied. They shall wander about for meat, and stay all night if they be not satisfied.They they wander for food, If they are not satisfied then they murmur.
Psalms 59:16But I will sing of thy strength; Yea, I will sing aloud of thy lovingkindness in the morning: For thou hast been my high tower, And a refuge in the day of my distress. But as for me, I will sing of thy strength; yea, I will sing aloud of thy loving-kindness in the morning; for thou hast been to me a high fortress, and a refuge in the day of my trouble.And I I sing [of] Thy strength, And I sing at morn [of] Thy kindness, For thou hast been a tower to me, And a refuge for me in a day of adversity.
Psalms 59:17Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing praises: For God is my high tower, the God of my mercy. Psalm 60 For the Chief Musician; [set to] Shushan Eduth. Michtam of David, to teach; and when he strove with Aram-naharaim and with Aram-zobah, and Joab returned, and smote of Edom in the Valley of Salt twelve thousand. Unto thee, my strength, will I sing psalms; for God is my high fortress, the God of my mercy.O my Strength, unto Thee I sing praise, For God [is] my tower, the God of my kindness!
