Psalms 62:1My soul waiteth in silence for God only: From him [cometh] my salvation. {To the chief Musician. On Jeduthun. A Psalm of David.} Upon God alone doth my soul rest peacefully; from him is my salvation. To the chief Musician, to Jeduthun, A Psalm of David. Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.A psalm of David when he was in the desert of Edom.
Psalms 62:2He only is my rock and my salvation: [He is] my high tower; I shall not be greatly moved. He only is my rock and my salvation; my high fortress: I shall not be greatly moved. He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved.O God, my God, to thee do I watch at break of day. For thee my soul hath thirsted; for thee my flesh, O how many ways!
Psalms 62:3How long will ye set upon a man, That ye may slay [him], all of you, Like a leaning wall, like a tottering fence? How long will ye assail a man; will ye [seek], all of you, to break him down as a bowing wall or a tottering fence? How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence. In a desert land, and where there is no way, and no water: so in the sanctuary have I come before thee, to see thy power and thy glory.
Psalms 62:4They only consult to thrust him down from his dignity; They delight in lies; They bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah They only consult to thrust [him] down from his excellency; they delight in lies; they bless with their mouth, but in their inward part they curse. Selah. They only consult to cast him down from his excellence: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah. For thy mercy is better than lives: thee my lips shall praise.
Psalms 62:5My soul, wait thou in silence for God only; For my expectation is from him. Upon God alone, O my soul, rest peacefully; for my expectation is from him.My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. Thus will I bless thee all my life long: and in thy name I will lift up my hands.
Psalms 62:6He only is my rock and my salvation: [He is] my high tower; I shall not be moved. He only is my rock and my salvation; my high fortress: I shall not be moved. He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defense; I shall not be moved.Let my soul be filled as with marrow and fatness: and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips.
Psalms 62:7With God is my salvation and my glory: The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. With God is my salvation and my glory; the rock of my strength, my refuge is in God.In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.If I have remembered thee upon my bed, I will meditate on thee in the morning:
Psalms 62:8Trust in him at all times, ye people; Pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah Confide in him at all times, ye people; pour out your heart before him: God is our refuge. Selah.Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.because thou hast been my helper. And I will rejoice under the covert of thy wings:
Psalms 62:9Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: In the balances they will go up; They are together lighter than vanity. Men of low degree are only vanity; men of high degree, a lie: laid in the balance, they go up together [lighter] than vanity.Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.my soul hath stuck close to thee: thy right hand hath received me.
Psalms 62:10Trust not in oppression, And become not vain in robbery: If riches increase, set not your heart [thereon]. Put not confidence in oppression, and become not vain in robbery; if wealth increase, set not your heart upon it.Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them. But they have sought my soul in vain, they shall go into the lower parts of the earth:
Psalms 62:11God hath spoken once, Twice have I heard this, That power belongeth unto God. Once hath God spoken, twice have I heard this, that strength [belongeth] unto God.God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth to God.They shall be delivered into the hands of the sword, they shall be the portions of foxes.
Psalms 62:12Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth lovingkindness; For thou renderest to every man according to his work. Psalm 63 A Psalm of David when he was in the wilderness of Judah. And unto thee, O Lord, [belongeth] loving-kindness; for *thou* renderest to every man according to his work. Also to thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work. But the king shall rejoice in God, all they shall be praised that swear by him: because the mouth is stopped of them that speak wicked things.
