Michtam; when he fled from Saul in the cave.} Be gracious unto me, O God, be gracious unto me; for my soul taketh refuge in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings do I take refuge, until the calamities be overpast.Unto the end, destroy not, for David, for an inscription of a title.
Psalms 57:2I will cry unto God Most High, Unto God that performeth [all things] for me. I will call unto God, the Most High; unto ùGod that performeth [all] for me.If in very deed you speak justice: judge right things, ye sons of men.
Psalms 57:3He will send from heaven, and save me, [When] he that would swallow me up reproacheth; Selah God will send forth his lovingkindness and his truth. Psalms 57:4My soul is among lions; I lie among them that are set on fire, Even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, And their tongue a sharp sword. My soul is in the midst of lions; I lie down [among] them that breathe out flames, the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword. The wicked are alienated from the womb; they have gone astray from the womb: they have spoken false things.
Psalms 57:5Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; [Let] thy glory [be] above all the earth. Be exalted above the heavens, O God; let thy glory be above all the earth!Their madness is according to the likeness of a serpent: like the deaf asp that stoppeth her ears:
Psalms 57:6They have prepared a net for my steps; My soul is bowed down: They have digged a pit before me; They are fallen into the midst thereof themselves. Selah They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul was bowed down: they have digged a pit before me; they are fallen into the midst thereof. Selah.Which will not hear the voice of the charmers; nor of the wizard that charmeth wisely.
Psalms 57:7My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing, yea, I will sing praises. My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing, yea, I will sing psalms.God shall break in pieces their teeth in their mouth: the Lord shall break the grinders of the lions.
Psalms 57:8Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake right early. Awake, my glory; awake, lute and harp: I will wake the dawn. They shall come to nothing, like water running down; he hath bent his bow till they be weakened.
Psalms 57:9I will give thanks unto thee, O Lord, among the peoples: I will sing praises unto thee among the nations. I will give thee thanks among the peoples, O Lord; of thee will I sing psalms among the nations:Like wax that melteth they shall be taken away: fire hath fallen on them, and they shall not see the sun.
Psalms 57:10For thy lovingkindness is great unto the heavens, And thy truth unto the skies. For thy loving-kindness is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds. Before your thorns could know the brier; he swalloweth them up, as alive, in his wrath.
