He who argues with God, let him answer it."Gird up thy loins like a man : I will ask thee, and do thou tell me.
Job 40:3Then Job answered Jehovah, and said, And Job answered Jehovah and said,Then Job answered Yahweh,Wilt thou make void my judgment : and condemn me, that thou mayst be justified?
Job 40:4Behold, I am of small account; What shall I answer thee? I lay my hand upon my mouth. Behold, I am nought: what shall I answer thee? I will lay my hand upon my mouth."Behold, I am of small account. What shall I answer you? I lay my hand on my mouth. And hast thou an arm like God, and canst thou thunder with a voice like him?
Job 40:5Once have I spoken, and I will not answer; Yea, twice, but I will proceed no further. Once have I spoken, and I will not answer; yea twice, but I will proceed no further.I have spoken once, and I will not answer; Yes, twice, but I will proceed no further."Clothe thyself with beauty, and set thyself up on high and be glorious, and put on goodly garments.
Job 40:6Then Jehovah answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said, And Jehovah answered Job out of the whirlwind and said,Then Yahweh answered Job out of the whirlwind,Scatter the proud in thy indignation, and behold every arrogant man, and humble him.
Job 40:7Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me. Gird up now thy loins like a man: I will demand of thee, and inform thou me."Now brace yourself like a man. I will question you, and you will answer me.Look on all that are proud, and confound them, and crush the wicked in their place.
Job 40:8Wilt thou even annul my judgment? Wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be justified? Wilt thou also annul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me that thou mayest be righteous? Will you even annul my judgment? Will you condemn me, that you may be justified?Hide them in the dust together, and plunge their faces into the pit.
Job 40:9Or hast thou an arm like God? And canst thou thunder with a voice like him? Hast thou an arm like ùGod? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?Or have you an arm like God? Can you thunder with a voice like him? Then I will confess that thy right hand is able to save thee.
Job 40:10Deck thyself now with excellency and dignity; And array thyself with honor and majesty. Deck thyself now with glory and excellency, and clothe thyself with majesty and splendour."Now deck yourself with excellency and dignity. Array yourself with honor and majesty.Behold behemoth whom I made with thee, he eateth grass like an ox.
Job 40:11Pour forth the overflowings of thine anger; And look upon every one that is proud, and abase him. Cast abroad the ragings of thine anger, and look on every one that is proud, and abase him:Pour forth the fury of your anger. Look on everyone who is proud, and bring him low.His strength is in his loins, and his force in the navel of his belly.
Job 40:12Look on every one that is proud, [and] bring him low; And tread down the wicked where they stand. Look on every one that is proud, bring him low, and tread down the wicked in their place:Look on everyone who is proud, and humble him. Crush the wicked in their place. He setteth up his tail like a cedar, the sinews of his testicles are wrapped together.
Job 40:13Hide them in the dust together; Bind their faces in the hidden [place]. Hide them in the dust together; bind their faces in secret.Hide them in the dust together. Bind their faces in the hidden place. His bones are like pipes of brass, his gristle like plates of iron.
Job 40:14Then will I also confess of thee That thine own right hand can save thee. Then will I also praise thee, because thy right hand saveth thee. Then I will also admit to you That your own right hand can save you.He is the beginning of the ways of God, who made him, he will apply his sword.
Job 40:15Behold now, behemoth, which I made as well as thee; He eateth grass as an ox. See now the behemoth, which I made with thee: he eateth grass as an ox."See now, behemoth, which I made as well as you. He eats grass as an ox.To him the mountains bring forth grass : there all the beasts of the field shall play.
Job 40:16Lo now, his strength is in his loins, And his force is in the muscles of his belly. Behold now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the muscles of his belly.Look now, his strength is in his loins, His force is in the muscles of his belly. He sleepeth under the shadow, in the covert of the reed, and in moist places.
Job 40:17He moveth his tail like a cedar: The sinews of his thighs are knit together. He bendeth his tail like a cedar; the sinews of his thighs are woven together. He moves his tail like a cedar: The sinews of his thighs are knit together. The shades cover his shadow, the willows of the brook shall compass him about.
Job 40:18His bones are [as] tubes of brass; His limbs are like bars of iron. His bones are tubes of bronze, his members are like bars of iron. His bones are like tubes of brass. His limbs are like bars of iron.Behold, he will drink up a river, and not wonder : and he trusteth that the Jordan may run into his mouth.
Job 40:19He is the chief of the ways of God: He [only] that made him giveth him his sword. He is the chief of ùGod's ways: he that made him gave him his sword. He is the chief of the ways of God. He who made him gives him his sword. In his eyes as with a hook he shall take him, and bore through his nostrils with stakes.
Job 40:20Surely the mountains bring him forth food, Where all the beasts of the field do play. For the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.Surely the mountains bring him forth food, Where all the animals of the field do play.Canst thou draw out the leviathan with a hook, or canst thou tie his tongue with a cord?
Job 40:21He lieth under the lotus-trees, In the covert of the reed, and the fen. He lieth under lotus-bushes, in the covert of the reed and fen:He lies under the lotus-trees, In the covert of the reed, and the marsh.Canst thou put a ring in his nose, or bore through his jaw with a buckle?
Job 40:22The lotus-trees cover him with their shade; The willows of the brook compass him about. Lotus-bushes cover him with their shade; the willows of the brook surround him.The lotuses cover him with their shade. The willows of the brook surround him. Will he make many supplications to thee, or speak soft words to thee?
