Selah. There he broke the flaming arrows of the bow, The shield, and the sword, and the weapons of war. Selah. In the day of my trouble I sought God, with my hands lifted up to him in the night, and I was not deceived. My soul refused to be comforted:
Psalms 76:4Glorious art thou [and] excellent, From the mountains of prey. More glorious art thou, more excellent, than the mountains of prey.Glorious are you, and excellent, More than mountains of game.I remembered God, and was delighted, and was exercised, and my spirit swooned away.
Psalms 76:5The stouthearted are made a spoil, They have slept their sleep; And none of the men of might have found their hands. The stout-hearted are made a spoil, they have slept their sleep; and none of the men of might have found their hands.Valiant men lie plundered, They have slept their last sleep. None of the men of war can lift their hands. My eyes prevented the watches: I was troubled, and I spoke not.
Psalms 76:6At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, Both chariot and horse are cast into a deep sleep. Psalms 76:7Thou, even thou, art to be feared; And who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry? Thou, thou art to be feared, and who can stand before thee when once thou art angry? You, even you, are to be feared. Who can stand in your sight when you are angry? And I meditated in the night with my own heart: and I was exercised and I swept my spirit.
Psalms 76:8Thou didst cause sentence to be heard from heaven; The earth feared, and was still, Thou didst cause judgment to be heard from the heavens; the earth feared, and was still,You pronounced judgment from heaven.
