Psalms 71:1In thee, O Jehovah, do I take refuge: Let me never be put to shame. A psalm on Solomon.In you, Yahweh, I take refuge. Never let me be put to shame.In you, O Lord, have I put my hope; let me never be shamed.
Psalms 71:2Deliver me in thy righteousness, and rescue me: Bow down thine ear unto me, and save me. Give to the king thy judgment, O God: and to the king's son thy justice: To judge thy people with justice, and thy poor with judgment.Deliver me in your righteousness, and rescue me. Turn your ear to me, and save me.Keep me safe in your righteousness, and come to my help; give ear to my voice, and be my saviour.
Psalms 71:3Be thou to me a rock of habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: Thou hast given commandment to save me; For thou art my rock and my fortress. Let the mountains receive peace for the people: and the hills justice.Be to me a rock of refuge to which I may always go. Give the command to save me, For you are my rock and my fortress.Be my strong Rock, the strong place of my salvation; for you are my Rock, and my safe place.
Psalms 71:4Rescue me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, Out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man. He shall judge the poor of the people, and he shall save the children of the poor: and he shall humble the oppressor.Rescue me, my God, from the hand of the wicked, From the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.O my God, take me out of the hand of the sinner, out of the hand of the evil and cruel man.
Psalms 71:5For thou art my hope, O Lord Jehovah: [Thou art] my trust from my youth. And he shall continue with the sun, and before the moon, throughout all generations.For you are my hope, Lord Yahweh; My confidence from my youth.For you are my hope, O Lord God; I have had faith in you from the time when I was young.
Psalms 71:6By thee have I been holden up from the womb; Thou art he that took me out of my mother's bowels: My praise shall be continually of thee. He shall come down like rain upon the fleece; and as showers falling gently upon the earth.I have relied on you from the womb. You are he who took me out of my mother's womb. I will always praise you.You have been my support from the day of my birth; you took me out of my mother's body; my praise will be ever of you.
Psalms 71:7I am as a wonder unto many; But thou art my strong refuge. In his days shall justice spring up, and abundance of peace, till the moon be taken sway.I am a marvel to many, But you are my strong refuge.I am a wonder to all; but you are my strong tower.
Psalms 71:8My mouth shall be filled with thy praise, And with thy honor all the day. And he shall rule from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth.My mouth shall be filled with your praise, With your honor all the day.My mouth will be full of your praise and glory all the day.
Psalms 71:9Cast me not off in the time of old age; Forsake me not when my strength faileth. Before him the Ethiopians shall fall down: and his enemies shall lick the ground.Don't reject me in my old age. Don't forsake me when my strength fails.Do not give me up when I am old; be my help even when my strength is gone.
Psalms 71:10For mine enemies speak concerning me; And they that watch for my soul take counsel together, The kings of Tharsis and the islands shall offer presents: the kings of the Arabians and of Saba shall bring gifts:For my enemies talk about me. Those who watch for my soul conspire together,For my haters are waiting secretly for me; and those who are watching for my soul are banded together in their evil designs,
Psalms 71:11Saying, God hath forsaken him: Pursue and take him; for there is none to deliver. And all kings of the earth shall adore him: all nations shall serve him.Saying, "God has forsaken him. Pursue and take him, for no one will rescue him."Saying, God has given him up; go after him and take him, for he has no helper.
Psalms 71:12O God, be not far from me; O my God, make haste to help me. For he shall deliver the poor from the mighty: and the needy that had no helper.God, don't be far from me. My God, hurry to help me.O God, be not far from me; O my God, come quickly to my help.
Psalms 71:13Let them be put to shame [and] consumed that are adversaries to my soul; Let them be covered with reproach and dishonor that seek my hurt. He shall spare the poor and needy: and he shall save the souls of the poor.Let my accusers be put to shame and consumed. Let them be covered with disgrace and scorn who want to harm me.Let those who say evil against my soul be overcome and put to shame; let my haters be made low and have no honour.
Psalms 71:14But I will hope continually, And will praise thee yet more and more. He shall redeem their souls from usuries and iniquity: and their names shall be honourable in his sight.But I will always hope, And will add to all of your praise.But I will go on ever hoping, and increasing in all your praise.
Psalms 71:15My mouth shall tell of thy righteousness, [And] of thy salvation all the day; For I know not the numbers [thereof]. And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Arabia, for him they shall always adore: they shall bless him all the day.My mouth will tell about your righteousness, And of your salvation all day, Though I don't know its full measure.My mouth will make clear your righteousness and your salvation all the day; for they are more than may be measured.
Psalms 71:16I will come with the mighty acts of the Lord Jehovah: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only. And there shall be a firmament on the earth on the tops of mountains, above Libanus shall the fruit thereof be exalted : and they of the city shall flourish like the grass of the earth.I will come with the mighty acts of the Lord Yahweh. I will make mention of your righteousness, even of yours alone.I will give news of the great acts of the Lord God; my words will be of your righteousness, and of yours only.
Psalms 71:17O God, thou hast taught me from my youth; And hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works. Let his name be blessed for evermore : his name continueth before the sun. And in him shall all the tribes of the earth be blessed: all nations shall magnify him.God, you have taught me from my youth. Until now, I have declared your wondrous works.O God, you have been my teacher from the time when I was young; and I have been talking of your works of wonder even till now.
Psalms 71:18Yea, even when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not, Until I have declared thy strength unto [the next] generation, Thy might to every one that is to come. Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, who alone doth wonderful things.Yes, even when I am old and gray-headed, God, don't forsake me, Until I have declared your strength to the next generation, Your might to everyone who is to come.Now when I am old and grey-headed, O God, give me not up; till I have made clear your strength to this generation, and your power to all those to come.
Psalms 71:19Thy righteousness also, O God, is very high; Thou who hast done great things, O God, who is like unto thee? And blessed be the name of his majesty for ever: and the whole earth shall be filled with his majesty. So be it. So be it.Your righteousness also, God, reaches to the heavens; You who have done great things. God, who is like you?Your righteousness, O God, is very high; you have done great things; O God, who is like you?
Psalms 71:20Thou, who hast showed us many and sore troubles, Wilt quicken us again, And wilt bring us up again from the depths of the earth. The praises of David, the son of Jesse, are ended.You, who have showed us many and bitter troubles, You will let me live. You will bring us up again from the depths of the earth.You, who have sent great and bitter troubles on me, will give me life again, lifting me up from the deep waters of the underworld.
Psalms 71:21Increase thou my greatness, And turn again and comfort me. Increase my honor, And comfort me again.You will make me greater than before, and give me comfort on every side.
Psalms 71:22I will also praise thee with the psaltery, [Even] thy truth, O my God: Unto thee will I sing praises with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel. I will also praise you with the harp for your faithfulness, my God. I sing praises to you with the lyre, Holy One of Israel.I will give praise to you with instruments of music, O my God, for you are true; I will make songs to you with music, O Holy One of Israel.
Psalms 71:23My lips shall shout for joy when I sing praises unto thee; And my soul, which thou hast redeemed. My lips shall shout for joy! My soul, which you have redeemed, sings praises to you!Joy will be on my lips when I make melody to you; and in my soul, to which you have given salvation.
Psalms 71:24My tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day long; For they are put to shame, for they are confounded, that seek my hurt. Psalm 72 [A Psalm] of Solomon. My tongue will also talk about your righteousness all day long, For they are put to shame, and they are confounded, who want to harm me. Psalm 72 By Solomon.My tongue will be talking of your righteousness all the day; for those whose purpose is to do me evil have been crushed and put to shame.
