Psalms 82:1God standeth in the congregation of God; He judgeth among the gods. A canticle of a psalm for Asaph.God presides in the great assembly. He judges among the gods.<A Psalm. Of Asaph.> God is in the meeting-place of God; he is judging among the gods.
Psalms 82:2How long will ye judge unjustly, And respect the persons of the wicked? Selah O God, who shall be like to thee? hold not thy peace, neither be thou still, O God."How long will you judge unjustly, And show partiality to the wicked?" Selah.How long will you go on judging falsely, having respect for the persons of evil-doers? (Selah.)
Psalms 82:3Judge the poor and fatherless: Do justice to the afflicted and destitute. For lo, thy enemies have made a noise: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head."Defend the weak, the poor, and the fatherless. Maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed.Give ear to the cause of the poor and the children without fathers; let those who are troubled and in need have their rights.
Psalms 82:4Rescue the poor and needy: Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked. They have taken a malicious counsel against thy people, and have consulted against thy saints.Rescue the weak and needy. Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked."Be the saviour of the poor and those who have nothing: take them out of the hand of the evil-doers.
Psalms 82:5They know not, neither do they understand; They walk to and fro in darkness: All the foundations of the earth are shaken. They have said: Come and let us destroy them, so that they be not a nation: and let the name of Israel be remembered no more.They don't know, neither do they understand. They walk back and forth in darkness. All the foundations of the earth are shaken.They have no knowledge or sense; they go about in the dark: all the bases of the earth are moved.
Psalms 82:6I said, Ye are gods, And all of you sons of the Most High. For they have contrived with one consent: they have made a covenant together against thee,I said, "You are gods, All of you are sons of the Most High.I said, You are gods; all of you are the sons of the Most High:
Psalms 82:7Nevertheless ye shall die like men, And fall like one of the princes. the tabernacles of the Edomites, and the Ismahelites: Moab, and the Agarens,Nevertheless you shall die like men, And fall like one of the rulers."But you will come to death like men, falling like one of the rulers of the earth.
Psalms 82:8Arise, O God, judge the earth; For thou shalt inherit all the nations. Psalm 83 A song. A Psalm of Asaph. Gebal, and Ammon and Amalec: the Philistines, with the inhabitants of Tyre.Arise, God, judge the earth, For you inherit all of the nations. Psalm 83 A song. A Psalm by Asaph.Up! O God, come as judge of the earth; for all the nations are your heritage.
