Job 30:1But now they that are younger than I have me in derision, Whose fathers I disdained to set with the dogs of my flock. But now the younger in time scorn me, whose fathers I would not have set with the dogs of my flock:"But now those who are younger than I, have me in derision, Whose fathers I would have disdained to put with my sheep dogs.But now they that are younger than I have me in derision, whose fathers I would have disdained to set with the dogs of my flock.
Job 30:2Yea, the strength of their hands, whereto should it profit me? Men in whom ripe age is perished. The strength of whose hands was to me as nothing, and they were thought unworthy of life itself.Of what use is the strength of their hands to me, Men in whom ripe age has perished?Yea, whereto [should] the strength of their hands [profit] me, [men] in whom vigour hath perished?
Job 30:3They are gaunt with want and famine; They gnaw the dry ground, in the gloom of wasteness and desolation. Barren with want and hunger, who gnawed in the wilderness, disfigured with calamity and misery.They are gaunt from lack and famine. They gnaw the dry ground, in the gloom of waste and desolation.Withered up through want and hunger, they flee into waste places long since desolate and desert:
Job 30:4They pluck salt-wort by the bushes; And the roots of the broom are their food. And they ate grass, and barks of trees, and the root of junipers was their food.They pluck salt herbs by the bushes. The roots of the broom are their food.They gather the salt-wort among the bushes, and the roots of the broom for their food.
Job 30:5They are driven forth from the midst [of men]; They cry after them as after a thief; Who snatched up these things out of the valleys, and when they had found any of them, they ran to them with a cry.They are driven forth from the midst of men; They cry after them as after a thief;They are driven forth from among [men] they cry after them as after a thief
Job 30:6So that they dwell in frightful valleys, In holes of the earth and of the rocks. They dwelt in the desert places of torrents, and in caves of earth, or upon the gravel.So that they dwell in frightful valleys, And in holes of the earth and of the rocks.To dwell in gloomy gorges, in caves of the earth and the rocks:
Job 30:7Among the bushes they bray; Under the nettles they are gathered together. They pleased themselves among these kind of things, and counted it delightful to be under the briers.Among the bushes they bray; And under the nettles they are gathered together.They bray among the bushes; under the brambles they are gathered together:
Job 30:8[They are] children of fools, yea, children of base men; They were scourged out of the land. The children of foolish and base men, and not appearing at all upon the earth.They are children of fools, yes, children of base men. They were flogged out of the land.Sons of fools, and sons of nameless sires, they are driven out of the land.
Job 30:9And now I am become their song, Yea, I am a byword unto them. Now I am turned into their song, and am become their byword."Now I have become their song. Yes, I am a byword to them.And now I am their song, yea, I am their byword.
Job 30:10They abhor me, they stand aloof from me, And spare not to spit in my face. They abhor me, and flee far from me, and are not afraid to spit in my face.They abhor me, they stand aloof from me, And don't hesitate to spit in my face.They abhor me, they stand aloof from me, yea, they spare not to spit in my face.
Job 30:11For he hath loosed his cord, and afflicted me; And they have cast off the bridle before me. For he hath opened his quiver, and hath afflicted me, and hath put a bridle into my mouth.For he has loosed his cord, and afflicted me; And they have thrown off restraint before me.For he hath loosed my cord and afflicted me; so they cast off the bridle before me.
Job 30:12Upon my right hand rise the rabble; They thrust aside my feet, And they cast up against me their ways of destruction. At the right hand of my rising, my calamities forthwith arose: they have overthrown my feet, and have overwhelmed me with their paths as with waves.On my right hand rise the rabble. They thrust aside my feet, They cast up against me their ways of destruction.At [my] right hand rise the young brood; they push away my feet, and raise up against me their pernicious ways;
Job 30:13They mar my path, They set forward my calamity, [Even] men that have no helper. They have destroyed my ways, they have lain in wait against me, and they have prevailed, and there was none to help.They mar my path, They set forward my calamity, Without anyone's help.They mar my path, they set forward my calamity, without any to help them;
Job 30:14As through a wide breach they come: In the midst of the ruin they roll themselves [upon me]. They have rushed in upon me, as when a wall is broken, and a gate opened, and have rolled themselves down to my miseries.As through a wide breach they come, In the midst of the ruin they roll themselves in.They come in as through a wide breach: amid the confusion they roll themselves onward.
Job 30:15Terrors are turned upon me; They chase mine honor as the wind; And my welfare is passed away as a cloud. I am brought to nothing: as a wind thou hast taken away my desire: and my prosperity hath passed away like a cloud.Terrors are turned on me. They chase my honor as the wind. My welfare has passed away as a cloud.Terrors are turned against me; they pursue mine honour as the wind; and my welfare is passed away like a cloud.
Job 30:16And now my soul is poured out within me; Days of affliction have taken hold upon me. And now my soul fadeth within myself, and the days of affliction possess me."Now my soul is poured out within me. Days of affliction have taken hold on me.And now my soul is poured out in me; days of affliction have taken hold upon me.
Job 30:17In the night season my bones are pierced in me, And the [pains] that gnaw me take no rest. In the night my bone is pierced with sorrows: and they that feed upon me, do not sleep.In the night season my bones are pierced in me, And the pains that gnaw me take no rest.The night pierceth through my bones [and detacheth them] from me, and my gnawing pains take no rest:
Job 30:18By [God's] great force is my garment disfigured; It bindeth me about as the collar of my coat. With the multitude of them my garment is consumed, and they have girded me about, as with the collar of my coat.By great force is my garment disfigured. It binds me about as the collar of my coat.By their great force they have become my raiment; they bind me about as the collar of my coat.
Job 30:19He hath cast me into the mire, And I am become like dust and ashes. I am compared to dirt, and am likened to embers and ashes.He has cast me into the mire. I have become like dust and ashes.He hath cast me into the mire, and I have become like dust and ashes.
Job 30:20I cry unto thee, and thou dost not answer me: I stand up, and thou gazest at me. I cry to thee, and thou hearest me not: I stand up, and thou dost not regard me.I cry to you, and you do not answer me. I stand up, and you gaze at me.I cry unto thee, and thou answerest me not; I stand up, and thou lookest at me.
Job 30:21Thou art turned to be cruel to me; With the might of thy hand thou persecutest me. Thou art changed to be cruel toward me, and in the hardness of thy hand thou art against me.You have turned to be cruel to me. With the might of your hand you persecute me.Thou art changed to a cruel one to me; with the strength of thy hand thou pursuest me.
Job 30:22Thou liftest me up to the wind, thou causest me to ride [upon it]; And thou dissolvest me in the storm. Thou hast lifted me up, and set me as it were upon the wind, and thou hast mightily dashed me.You lift me up to the wind, and drive me with it. You dissolve me in the storm.Thou liftest me up to the wind; thou causest me to be borne away, and dissolvest my substance.
Job 30:23For I know that thou wilt bring me to death, And to the house appointed for all living. I know that thou wilt deliver me to death, where a house is appointed for every one that liveth.For I know that you will bring me to death, To the house appointed for all living.For I know that thou wilt bring me to death, and into the house of assemblage for all living.
Job 30:24Howbeit doth not one stretch out the hand in his fall? Or in his calamity therefore cry for help? But yet thou stretchest not forth thy hand to their consumption: and if they shall fall down thou wilt save."However doesn't one stretch out a hand in his fall? Or in his calamity therefore cry for help?Indeed, no prayer [availeth] when he stretcheth out [his] hand: though they cry when he destroyeth.
Job 30:25Did not I weep for him that was in trouble? Was not my soul grieved for the needy? I wept heretofore for him that was afflicted, and my soul had compassion on the poor.Didn't I weep for him who was in trouble? Wasn't my soul grieved for the needy?Did not I weep for him whose days were hard? was not my soul grieved for the needy?
Job 30:26When I looked for good, then evil came; And when I waited for light, there came darkness. I expected good things, and evils are come upon me: I waited for light, and darkness broke out.When I looked for good, then evil came; When I waited for light, there came darkness.For I expected good, and there came evil; and I waited for light, but there came darkness.
Job 30:27My heart is troubled, and resteth not; Days of affliction are come upon me. My inner parts have boiled without any rest, the days of affliction have prevented me.My heart is troubled, and doesn't rest. Days of affliction have come on me.My bowels well up, and rest not; days of affliction have confronted me.
Job 30:28I go mourning without the sun: I stand up in the assembly, and cry for help. I went mourning without indignation; I rose up, and cried in the crowd.I go mourning without the sun. I stand up in the assembly, and cry for help.I go about blackened, but not by the sun; I stand up, I cry in the congregation.
Job 30:29I am a brother to jackals, And a companion to ostriches. I was the brother of dragons, and companion of ostriches.I am a brother to jackals, And a companion to ostriches.I am become a brother to jackals, and a companion of ostriches.
Job 30:30My skin is black, [and falleth] from me, And my bones are burned with heat. My skin is become black upon me, and my bones are dried up with heat.My skin grows black and peels from me. My bones are burned with heat.My skin is become black [and falleth] off me, and my bones are parched with heat.
Job 30:31Therefore is my harp [turned] to mourning, And my pipe into the voice of them that weep. My harp is turned to mourning, and my organ into the voice of those that weep.Therefore is my harp turned to mourning, And my pipe into the voice of those who weep.My harp also is [turned] to mourning, and my pipe into the voice of weepers.
