Psalms 41:1Blessed is he that considereth the poor: Jehovah will deliver him in the day of evil. Unto the end, understanding for the sons of Core.Blessed is he who considers the poor: Yahweh will deliver him in the day of evil.
Psalms 41:2Jehovah will preserve him, and keep him alive, And he shall be blessed upon the earth; And deliver not thou him unto the will of his enemies. As the hart panteth after the fountains of water; so my soul panteth after thee, O God.Yahweh will preserve him, and keep him alive, He shall be blessed on the earth, And he will not surrender him to the will of his enemies.
Psalms 41:3Jehovah will support him upon the couch of languishing: Thou makest all his bed in his sickness. My soul hath thirsted after the strong living God; when shall I come and appear before the face of God?Yahweh will sustain him on his sickbed, And restore him from his bed of illness.
Psalms 41:4I said, O Jehovah, have mercy upon me: Heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee. My tears have been any bread day and night, whilst it is said to me daily : Where is thy God?I said, " Yahweh, have mercy on me. Heal me, for I have sinned against you."
Psalms 41:5Mine enemies speak evil against me, [saying], When will he die, and his name perish? These things I remembered, and poured out my soul in me : for I shall go over into the place of the wonderful tabernacle, even to the house of God : With the voice of joy and praise; the noise of one feasting. My enemies speak evil against me: "When will he die, and his name perish?"
Psalms 41:6And if he come to see [me], he speaketh falsehood; His heart gathereth iniquity to itself: When he goeth abroad, he telleth it. Why art thou sad, O my soul? and why dost thou trouble me? Hope in God, for I will still give praise to him : the salvation of my countenance,If he come to see me, he speaks falsehood. His heart gathers iniquity to itself. When he goes abroad, he tells it.
Psalms 41:7All that hate me whisper together against me; Against me do they devise my hurt. and my God. My soul is troubled within myself : therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan and Hermoniim, from the little hill. All who hate me whisper together against me. They imagine the worst for me.
Psalms 41:8An evil disease, [say they], cleaveth fast unto him; And now that he lieth he shall rise up no more. Deep calleth on deep, at the noise of thy flood-gates. All thy heights and thy billows have passed over me."An evil disease," they say, "has afflicted him. Now that he lies he shall rise up no more."
Psalms 41:9Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, Who did eat of my bread, Hath lifted up his heel against me. In the daytime the Lord hath commanded his mercy; and a canticle to him in the night. With me is prayer to the God of my life.Yes, my own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, Who ate bread with me, Has lifted up his heel against me.
Psalms 41:10But thou, O Jehovah, have mercy upon me, and raise me up, That I may requite them. I will say to God : Thou art my support. Why hast thou forgotten me? and why go I mourning, whilst my enemy afflicteth me?But you, Yahweh, have mercy on me, and raise me up, That I may repay them.
Psalms 41:11By this I know that thou delightest in me, Because mine enemy doth not triumph over me. Whilst my bones are broken, my enemies who trouble me have reproached me; Whilst they say to me day be day : Where is thy God?By this I know that you delight in me, Because my enemy doesn't triumph over me.
Psalms 41:12And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, And settest me before thy face for ever. Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why dost thou disquiet me? Hope thou in God, for I will still give praise to him : the salvation of my countenance, and my God.As for me, you uphold me in my integrity, And set me in your presence forever.
Psalms 41:13Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, From everlasting and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen. Book II Psalm 42 For the Chief Musician. Maschil of the sons of Korah. Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, From everlasting and to everlasting! Amen and amen. BOOK II Psalm 42 For the Chief Musician. A contemplation by the sons of Korah.
