| Psalms 13:1 | How long, O Jehovah? wilt thou forget me for ever? How long wilt thou hide thy face from me? | How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me? | Unto the end, a psalm for David. The fool hath said in his heart: There is no God, They are corrupt, and are become abominable in their ways: there is none that doth good, no not one. | <To the chief music-maker. A Psalm. Of David.> Will you for ever put me out of your memory, O Lord? will your face for ever be turned away from me? |
| Psalms 13:2 | How long shall I take counsel in my soul, Having sorrow in my heart all the day? How long shall mine enemy be exalted over me? | How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me? | The Lord hath looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there be any that understand and seek God. | How long is my soul to be in doubt, with sorrow in my heart all the day? how long will he who is against me be given power over me? |
| Psalms 13:3 | Consider [and] answer me, O Jehovah my God: Lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the [sleep of] death; | Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death; | They are all gone aside, they are become unprofitable together: there is none that doth good, no not one. Their throat is an open sepulchre: with their tongues they acted deceitfully; the poison of asps is under their lips. Their mouth is full of cursing and bitterness; their feet are swift to shed blood. Destruction and unhappiness in their ways: and the way of peace they have not known: there is no fear of God before their eyes. | Let my voice come before you, and give me an answer, O Lord my God; let your light be shining on me, so that the sleep of death may not overtake me; |
| Psalms 13:4 | Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; [Lest] mine adversaries rejoice when I am moved. | Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved. | Shall not all they know that work iniquity, who devour my people as they eat bread ? | And he who is against me may not say, I have overcome him; and those who are troubling me may not be glad when I am moved. |
| Psalms 13:5 | But I have trusted in thy lovingkindness; My heart shall rejoice in thy salvation. | But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation. | They have not called upon the Lord: there have they trembled for fear, where there was no fear. | But I have had faith in your mercy; my heart will be glad in your salvation. |
| Psalms 13:6 | I will sing unto Jehovah, Because he hath dealt bountifully with me. Psalm 14 For the Chief Musician. [A Psalm] of David. | I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me. | For the Lord is in the just generation: you have confounded the counsel of the poor man, but the Lord is his hope. | I will make a song to the Lord, because he has given me my reward. |
