Psalms 33:1Rejoice in Jehovah, O ye righteous: Praise is comely for the upright. Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.For David, when he changed his countenance before Achimelech, who dismissed him, and he went his way. [1 Kings 21.]Exult, ye righteous, in Jehovah: praise is comely for the upright.
Psalms 33:2Give thanks unto Jehovah with the harp: Sing praises unto him with the psaltery of ten strings. Praise the LORD with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings.I will bless the Lord at all times, his praise shall be always in my mouth.Give thanks unto Jehovah with the harp; sing psalms unto him with the ten-stringed lute.
Psalms 33:3Sing unto him a new song; Play skilfully with a loud noise. Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise.In the Lord shall my soul be praised: let the meek hear and rejoice.Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud sound.
Psalms 33:4For the word of Jehovah is right; And all his work is [done] in faithfulness. For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.O magnify the Lord with me; and let us extol his name together.For the word of Jehovah is right, and all his work is in faithfulness.
Psalms 33:5He loveth righteousness and justice: The earth is full of the lovingkindness of Jehovah. He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.I sought the Lord, and he heard me; and he delivered me from all my troubles.He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the loving-kindness of Jehovah.
Psalms 33:6By the word of Jehovah were the heavens made, And all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.Come ye to him and be enlightened: and your faces shall not be confounded.By the word of Jehovah were the heavens made, and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.
Psalms 33:7He gathereth the waters of the sea together as a heap: He layeth up the deeps in store-houses. Psalms 33:8Let all the earth fear Jehovah: Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. Psalms 33:9For he spake, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast. For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.O taste, and see that the Lord is sweet: blessed is the man that hopeth in him.For *he* spoke, and it was [done]; *he* commanded, and it stood fast.
Psalms 33:10Jehovah bringeth the counsel of the nations to nought; He maketh the thoughts of the peoples to be of no effect. The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect.Fear the Lord, all ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.Jehovah frustrateth the counsel of the nations; he maketh the thoughts of the peoples of none effect.
Psalms 33:11The counsel of Jehovah standeth fast for ever, The thoughts of his heart to all generations. The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations. The rich have wanted, and have suffered hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not be deprived of any good.The counsel of Jehovah standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart from generation to generation.
Psalms 33:12Blessed is the nation whose God is Jehovah, The people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance. Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD: and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.Come, children, hearken to me: I will teach you the fear of the Lord.Blessed is the nation whose God is Jehovah, the people that he hath chosen for his inheritance!
Psalms 33:13Jehovah looketh from heaven; He beholdeth all the sons of men; The LORD looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men. Who is the man that desireth life: who loveth to see good days?Jehovah looketh from the heavens; he beholdeth all the sons of men:
Psalms 33:14From the place of his habitation he looketh forth Upon all the inhabitants of the earth, From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth. Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.From the place of his habitation he looketh forth upon all the inhabitants of the earth;
Psalms 33:15He that fashioneth the hearts of them all, That considereth all their works. He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works.Turn away from evil and do good: seek after peace and pursue it.He who fashioneth the hearts of them all, who considereth all their works.
Psalms 33:16There is no king saved by the multitude of a host: A mighty man is not delivered by great strength. There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.The eyes of the Lord are upon the just: and his ears unto their prayers.The king is not saved by the multitude of [his] forces; a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.
Psalms 33:17A horse is a vain thing for safety; Neither doth he deliver any by his great power. An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.But the countenance of the Lord is against them that do evil things: to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.The horse is a vain thing for safety; neither doth he deliver by his great power.
Psalms 33:18Behold, the eye of Jehovah is upon them that fear him, Upon them that hope in his lovingkindness; Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;The just cried, and the Lord heard them: and delivered them out of all their troubles.Behold, the eye of Jehovah is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his loving-kindness,
Psalms 33:19To deliver their soul from death, And to keep them alive in famine. To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a contrite heart: and he will save the humble of spirit.To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
Psalms 33:20Our soul hath waited for Jehovah: He is our help and our shield. Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.Many are the afflictions of the just; but out of them all will the Lord deliver them.Our soul waiteth for Jehovah: he is our help and our shield.
Psalms 33:21For our heart shall rejoice in him, Because we have trusted in his holy name. For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.The Lord keepeth all their bones, not one of them shall be broken.For in him shall our heart rejoice, because we have confided in his holy name.
Psalms 33:22Let thy lovingkindness, O Jehovah, be upon us, According as we have hoped in thee. Psalm 34 A Psalm of David; when he changed his behavior before Abimelech, who drove him away, and he departed. Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.The death of the wicked is very evil: and they that hate the just shall be guilty.Let thy loving-kindness, O Jehovah, be upon us, according as we have hoped in thee.
