Psalms 27:1Jehovah is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? Jehovah is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid? The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?A psalm for David himself. Unto thee will I cry, O Lord: O my God, be not thou silent to me: lest thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit.Yahweh is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? Yahweh is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid?
Psalms 27:2When evil-doers came upon me to eat up my flesh, [Even] mine adversaries and my foes, they stumbled and fell. When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.Hear, O Lord, the voice of my supplication, when I pray to thee; when I lift up my hands to thy holy temple. When evil-doers came at me to eat up my flesh, Even my adversaries and my foes, they stumbled and fell.
Psalms 27:3Though a host should encamp against me, My heart shall not fear: Though war should rise against me, Even then will I be confident. Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.Draw me not away together with the wicked; and with the workers of iniquity destroy me not: Who speak peace with their neighbour, but evils are in their hearts.Though a host should encamp against me, My heart shall not fear. Though war should rise against me, Even then I will be confident.
Psalms 27:4One thing have I asked of Jehovah, that will I seek after; That I may dwell in the house of Jehovah all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of Jehovah, And to inquire in his temple. One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.Give them according to their works, and according to the wickedness of their inventions. According to the works of their hands give thou to them: render to them their reward. One thing have I asked of Yahweh, that will I seek after, That I may dwell in the house of Yahweh all the days of my life, To see the beauty of Yahweh, And to inquire in his temple.
Psalms 27:5For in the day of trouble he will keep me secretly in his pavilion: In the covert of his tabernacle will he hide me; He will lift me up upon a rock. For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.Because they have not understood the works of the Lord, and the operations of his hands: thou shalt destroy them, and shalt not build them up.For in the day of trouble he will keep me secretly in his pavilion. In the covert of his tent will he hide me. He will lift me up on a rock.
Psalms 27:6And now shall my head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me. And I will offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto Jehovah. And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.Blessed be the Lord, for he hath heard the voice of my supplication. Now shall my head be lifted up above my enemies around me. I will offer sacrifices of joy in his tent. I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to Yahweh.
Psalms 27:7Hear, O Jehovah, when I cry with my voice: Have mercy also upon me, and answer me. Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me. The Lord is my helper and my protector: in him hath my heart confided, and I have been helped. And my flesh hath flourished again, and with my will I will give praise to him.Hear, Yahweh, when I cry with my voice. Have mercy also on me, and answer me.
Psalms 27:8[When thou saidst], Seek ye my face; My heart said unto thee, Thy face, Jehovah, will I seek. When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek. The Lord is the strength of his people, and the protector of the salvation of his anointed. When you said, "Seek my face," My heart said to you, "I will seek your face, Yahweh."
Psalms 27:9Hide not thy face from me; Put not thy servant away in anger: Thou hast been my help; Cast me not off, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation. Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation. Save, O Lord, thy people, and bless thy inheritance: and rule them and exalt them for ever.Don't hide your face from me. Don't put your servant away in anger. You have been my help. Don't abandon me, neither forsake me, God of my salvation.
Psalms 27:10When my father and my mother forsake me, Then Jehovah will take me up. When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up. When my father and my mother forsake me, Then Yahweh will take me up.
Psalms 27:11Teach me thy way, O Jehovah; And lead me in a plain path, Because of mine enemies. Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.Teach me your way, Yahweh. Lead me in a straight path, because of my enemies.
Psalms 27:12Deliver me not over unto the will of mine adversaries: For false witnesses are risen up against me, And such as breathe out cruelty. Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.Don't deliver me over to the desire of my adversaries, For false witnesses have risen up against me, Such as breathe out cruelty.
Psalms 27:13[I had fainted], unless I had believed to see the goodness of Jehovah In the land of the living. I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of Yahweh in the land of the living.
Psalms 27:14Wait for Jehovah: Be strong, and let thy heart take courage; Yea, wait thou for Jehovah. Psalm 28 [A Psalm] of David. Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh.
