Proverbs 27:1Boast not thyself of tomorrow; For thou knowest not what a day may bring forth. Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth. Don't boast about tomorrow; For you don't know what a day may bring forth.
Proverbs 27:2Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; A stranger, and not thine own lips. Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips. Let another man praise you, And not your own mouth; A stranger, and not your own lips.
Proverbs 27:3A stone is heavy, and the sand weighty; But a fool's vexation is heavier than they both. A stone is heavy, and the sand weighty; but a fool's wrath is heavier than them both.A stone is heavy, And sand is a burden; But a fool's provocation is heavier than both.

Proverbs 27:5Better is open rebuke Than love that is hidden. Open rebuke is better than secret love.Better is open rebuke Than hidden love.

Proverbs 27:8As a bird that wandereth from her nest, So is a man that wandereth from his place. As a bird that wandereth from her nest, so is a man that wandereth from his place.As a bird that wanders from her nest, So is a man who wanders from his home.
Proverbs 27:9Oil and perfume rejoice the heart; So doth the sweetness of a man's friend [that cometh] of hearty counsel. Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth the sweetness of a man's friend by hearty counsel.Perfume and incense bring joy to the heart; So does earnest counsel from a man's friend.
Proverbs 27:10Thine own friend, and thy father's friend, forsake not; And go not to thy brother's house in the day of thy calamity: Better is a neighbor that is near than a brother far off. Thine own friend, and thy father's friend, forsake not; neither go into thy brother's house in the day of thy calamity: for better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off.Don't forsake your friend and your father's friend. Don't go to your brother's house in the day of your disaster: Better is a neighbor who is near than a distant brother.
Proverbs 27:11My son, be wise, and make my heart glad, That I may answer him that reproacheth me. My son, be wise, and make my heart glad, that I may answer him that reproacheth me.Be wise, my son, And bring joy to my heart, Then I can answer my tormentor.
Proverbs 27:12A prudent man seeth the evil, [and] hideth himself; [But] the simple pass on, [and] suffer for it. A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished.A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge; But the simple pass on, and suffer for it:
Proverbs 27:13Take his garment that is surety for a stranger; And hold him in pledge [that is surety] for a foreign woman. Take his garment that is surety for a stranger, and take a pledge of him for a strange woman.Take his garment when he puts up collateral for a stranger; Hold it for a wayward woman!

Proverbs 27:16He that would restrain her restraineth the wind; And his right hand encountereth oil. Whosoever hideth her hideth the wind, and the ointment of his right hand, which bewrayeth itself.Restraining her is like restraining the wind, Or like grasping oil in his right hand.
Proverbs 27:17Iron sharpeneth iron; So a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.Iron sharpens iron; So a man sharpens his friend's countenance.
Proverbs 27:18Whoso keepeth the fig-tree shall eat the fruit thereof; And he that regardeth his master shall be honored. He who looks after his master shall be honored.

Proverbs 27:20Sheol and Abaddon are never satisfied; And the eyes of man are never satisfied. Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied.Sheol and Abaddon are never satisfied; And a man's eyes are never satisfied.
Proverbs 27:21The refining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold; And a man is [tried] by his praise. As the fining pot for silver, and the furnace for gold; so is a man to his praise.The crucible is for silver, And the furnace for gold; But man is refined by his praise.
Proverbs 27:22Though thou shouldest bray a fool in a mortar with a pestle along with bruised grain, Yet will not his foolishness depart from him. Though thou shouldest bray a fool in a mortar among wheat with a pestle, yet will not his foolishness depart from him. Though you grind a fool in a mortar with a pestle along with grain, Yet his foolishness will not be removed from him.
Proverbs 27:23Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, [And] look well to thy herds: Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds.Know well the state of your flocks, And pay attention to your herds:
Proverbs 27:24For riches are not for ever: And doth the crown endure unto all generations? For riches are not for ever: and doth the crown endure to every generation? For riches are not forever, Nor does even the crown endure to all generations.
Proverbs 27:25The hay is carried, and the tender grass showeth itself, And the herbs of the mountains are gathered in. The hay appeareth, and the tender grass sheweth itself, and herbs of the mountains are gathered. The hay is removed, and the new growth appears, The grasses of the hills are gathered in.
Proverbs 27:26The lambs are for thy clothing, And the goats are the price of the field; The lambs are for thy clothing, and the goats are the price of the field.The lambs are for your clothing, And the goats are the price of a field.
Proverbs 27:27And [there will be] goats' milk enough for thy food, for the food of thy household, And maintenance for thy maidens. And thou shalt have goats' milk enough for thy food, for the food of thy household, and for the maintenance for thy maidens.There will be plenty of goats' milk for your food, For your family's food, And for the nourishment of your servant girls.
