Job 5:1Call now; is there any that will answer thee? And to which of the holy ones wilt thou turn? "Call now; is there any who will answer you? To which of the holy ones will you turn?Call now if there be any that will answer thee, and turn to some of the saints.
Job 5:2For vexation killeth the foolish man, And jealousy slayeth the silly one. For resentment kills the foolish man, And jealousy kills the simple.Anger indeed killeth the foolish, and envy slayeth the little one.
Job 5:3I have seen the foolish taking root: But suddenly I cursed his habitation. I have seen the foolish taking root, But suddenly I cursed his habitation.I have seen a fool with a strong root, and I cursed his beauty immediately.
Job 5:4His children are far from safety, And they are crushed in the gate, Neither is there any to deliver them: His children are far from safety, They are crushed in the gate. Neither is there any to deliver them,His children shall be far from safety, and shall be destroyed in the gate, and there shall be none to deliver them.
Job 5:5Whose harvest the hungry eateth up, And taketh it even out of the thorns; And the snare gapeth for their substance. Whose harvest the hungry eats up, Takes it even out of the thorns; The snare gapes for their substance.Whose harvest the hungry shall eat, and the armed man shall take him by violence, and the thirsty shall drink up his riches.
Job 5:6For affliction cometh not forth from the dust, Neither doth trouble spring out of the ground; For affliction doesn't come forth from the dust, Neither does trouble spring out of the ground;Nothing upon earth is done without a voice cause, and sorrow doth not spring out of the ground.
Job 5:7But man is born unto trouble, As the sparks fly upward. But man is born to trouble, As the sparks fly upward.Man is born to labour and the bird to fly.
Job 5:8But as for me, I would seek unto God, And unto God would I commit my cause; "But as for me, I would seek God, To God would I commit my cause;Wherefore I will pray to the Lord, and address my speech to God:
Job 5:9Who doeth great things and unsearchable, Marvellous things without number: Who does great things that can't be fathomed, Marvelous things without number;Who doth great things and unsearchable and wonderful things without number:
Job 5:10Who giveth rain upon the earth, And sendeth waters upon the fields; Who gives rain on the earth, And sends waters on the fields;Who giveth rain upon the face of the earth, and watereth all things with waters:
Job 5:11So that he setteth up on high those that are low, And those that mourn are exalted to safety. So that he sets up on high those who are low, Those who mourn are exalted to safety.Who setteth up the humble on high, and comforteth with health those that mourn.
Job 5:12He frustrateth the devices of the crafty, So that their hands cannot perform their enterprise. He frustrates the devices of the crafty, So that their hands can't perform their enterprise.Who bringeth to nought the designs of the malignant, so that their hands cannot accomplish what they had begun:
Job 5:13He taketh the wise in their own craftiness; And the counsel of the cunning is carried headlong. He takes the wise in their own craftiness; The counsel of the cunning is carried headlong.Who catcheth the wise in their craftiness, and disappointeth the counsel of the wicked:
Job 5:14They meet with darkness in the day-time, And grope at noonday as in the night. They meet with darkness in the day-time, And grope at noonday as in the night.They shall meet with darkness in the day, and grope at noonday as in the night.
Job 5:15But he saveth from the sword of their mouth, Even the needy from the hand of the mighty. But he saves from the sword of their mouth, Even the needy from the hand of the mighty.But he shall save the needy from the sword of their mouth, and the poor from the hand of the violent.
Job 5:16So the poor hath hope, And iniquity stoppeth her mouth. So the poor has hope, And injustice shuts her mouth.And to the needy there shall he hope, but iniquity shall draw in her mouth.
Job 5:17Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: Therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty. "Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects: Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.Blessed is the mall whom God correcteth: refuse not therefore the chastising of the lord:
Job 5:18For he maketh sore, and bindeth up; He woundeth, and his hands make whole. For he wounds, and binds up; He injures, and his hands make whole.For he woundeth, and cureth: he striketh, and his hands shall heal.
Job 5:19He will deliver thee in six troubles; Yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee. He will deliver you in six troubles; Yes, in seven there shall no evil touch you.In six troubles he shall deliver thee, and in the seventh, evil shall not touch thee.
Job 5:20In famine he will redeem thee from death; And in war from the power of the sword. In famine he will redeem you from death; In war, from the power of the sword.In famine he shall deliver thee from death: and in battle, from the hand of the sword.
Job 5:21Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue; Neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh. You shall be hidden from the scourge of the tongue, Neither shall you be afraid of destruction when it comes.Thou shalt he hidden from the scourge of the tongue: and thou shalt not fear calamity when it cometh.
Job 5:22At destruction and dearth thou shalt laugh; Neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth. At destruction and dearth you shall laugh, Neither shall you be afraid of the animals of the earth.In destruction and famine then shalt laugh: and thou shalt not be afraid of the beasts of the earth.
Job 5:23For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field; And the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee. For you shall be in league with the stones of the field. The animals of the field shall be at peace with you.But thou shalt have a covenant with the stones of the lands, and the beasts of the earth shall be at pence with thee.
Job 5:24And thou shalt know that thy tent is in peace; And thou shalt visit thy fold, and shalt miss nothing. You shall know that your tent is in peace. You shall visit your fold, and shall miss nothing.And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle is in peace, and visiting thy beauty thou shalt not sin.
Job 5:25Thou shalt know also that thy seed shall be great, And thine offspring as the grass of the earth. You shall know also that your seed shall be great, Your offspring as the grass of the earth.Thou shalt know also that thy seed shall be multiplied, and thy offspring like the grass of the earth.
Job 5:26Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, Like as a shock of grain cometh in in its season. You shall come to your grave in a full age, Like a shock of grain comes in its season.Thou shalt enter into the grave in abundance, as a heap of wheat is brought in its season.
Job 5:27Lo this, we have searched it, so it is; Hear it, and know thou it for thy good. Look this, we have searched it, so it is; Hear it, and know it for your good."Behold, this is even so, as we have searched oat: which thou having heard, consider it thoroughly in thy mind.
