Proverbs 19:1Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity Than he that is perverse in his lips and is a fool. Better is the poor who walks in his integrity Than he who is perverse in his lips and is a fool.Better is the poor man, that walketh in his simplicity, than a rich man that is perverse in his lips, and unwise.
Proverbs 19:2Also, that the soul be without knowledge is not good; And he that hasteth with his feet sinneth. It isn't good to have zeal without knowledge; Nor being hasty with one's feet and missing the way.Where there is no knowledge of the soul, there is no good: and he that is hasty with his feet shall stumble.
Proverbs 19:3The foolishness of man subverteth his way; And his heart fretteth against Jehovah. The foolishness of man subverts his way; His heart rages against Yahweh.The folly of a man supplanteth his seeps: and he fretteth in his mind against God.
Proverbs 19:4Wealth addeth many friends; But the poor is separated from his friend. Wealth adds many friends, But the poor is separated from his friend.Riches make many friends: but from the poor man, even they whom he had, depart.
Proverbs 19:5A false witness shall not be unpunished; And he that uttereth lies shall not escape. A false witness shall not be unpunished. He who pours out lies shall not go free.A false witness shall not be unpunished: and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.
Proverbs 19:6Many will entreat the favor of the liberal man; And every man is a friend to him that giveth gifts. Many will entreat the favor of a ruler, And everyone is a friend to a man who gives gifts.Many honour the person of him that is mighty, and are friends of him that giveth gifts.
Proverbs 19:7All the brethren of the poor do hate him: How much more do his friends go far from him! He pursueth [them with] words, [but] they are gone. All the relatives of the poor shun him: How much more do his friends avoid him! He pursues them with pleas, but they are gone.The brethren of the poor man hate him: moreover also his friends have departed far from him. He that followeth after words only, shall have nothing.
Proverbs 19:8He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: He that keepeth understanding shall find good. He who gets wisdom loves his own soul. He who keeps understanding shall find good.But he that possesseth a mind, loveth his own soul, and he that keepeth prudence shall find good things.
Proverbs 19:9A false witness shall not be unpunished; And he that uttereth lies shall perish. A false witness shall not be unpunished. He who utters lies shall perish.A false witness shall not be unpunished: and he that speaketh lies, shall perish.
Proverbs 19:10Delicate living is not seemly for a fool; Much less for a servant to have rule over princes. Delicate living is not appropriate for a fool, Much less for a servant to have rule over princes.Delicacies are not seemly for a fool: nor for a servant to have rule over princes.
Proverbs 19:11The discretion of a man maketh him slow to anger; And it is his glory to pass over a transgression. The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger. It is his glory to overlook an offense.The learning of a man is known by patience and his glory is to pass over wrongs.
Proverbs 19:12The king's wrath is as the roaring of a lion; But his favor is as dew upon the grass. The king's wrath is like the roaring of a lion, But his favor is like dew on the grass.As the roaring of a lion, so also is the anger of a king: and his cheerfulness as the dew upon the grass.
Proverbs 19:13A foolish son is the calamity of his father; And the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping. A foolish son is the calamity of his father. A wife's quarrels are a continual dripping.A foolish son is the grief of his father: and a wrangling wife is like a roof continually dropping through.
Proverbs 19:14House and riches are an inheritance from fathers; But a prudent wife is from Jehovah. House and riches are an inheritance from fathers, But a prudent wife is from Yahweh.House and riches are given by parents: but a prudent wife is properly from the Lord.
Proverbs 19:15Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; And the idle soul shall suffer hunger. Slothfulness casts into a deep sleep. The idle soul shall suffer hunger.Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep, and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.
Proverbs 19:16He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his soul; [But] he that is careless of his ways shall die. He who keeps the commandment keeps his soul, But he who is contemptuous in his ways shall die.He that keepeth the commandment, keepeth his own soul: but he that neglecteth his own way, shall die.
Proverbs 19:17He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto Jehovah, And his good deed will he pay him again. He who has pity on the poor lends to Yahweh; He will reward him.He that hath mercy on the poor, lendeth to the Lord: and he will repay him.
Proverbs 19:18Chasten thy son, seeing there is hope; and set not thy heart on his destruction. Discipline your son, for there is hope; Don't be a willing party to his death.Chastise thy son, despair not: but to the killing of him set not thy soul.
Proverbs 19:19A man of great wrath shall bear the penalty; For if thou deliver [him], thou must do it yet again. A hot-tempered man must pay the penalty, For if you rescue him, you must do it again.He that is impatient, shall suffer damage: and when he shall take away he shall add another thing.
Proverbs 19:20Hear counsel, and receive instruction, That thou mayest be wise in thy latter end. Listen to counsel and receive instruction, That you may be wise in your latter end.Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayst be wise in thy latter end.
Proverbs 19:21There are many devices in a man's heart; But the counsel of Jehovah, that shall stand. There are many plans in a man's heart, But Yahweh's counsel will prevail.There are many thoughts in the heart of a man: but the will of the Lord shall stand firm.
Proverbs 19:22That which maketh a man to be desired is his kindness; And a poor man is better than a liar. That which makes a man to be desired is his kindness. A poor man is better than a liar.A needy man is merciful: and better is the poor than the lying man.
Proverbs 19:23The fear of Jehovah [tendeth] to life; And he [that hath it] shall abide satisfied; He shall not be visited with evil. The fear of Yahweh leads to life, then contentment; He rests and will not be touched by trouble.The fear of the Lord is unto life: and he shall abide in fulness without being visited with evil.
Proverbs 19:24The sluggard burieth his hand in the dish, And will not so much as bring it to his mouth again. The sluggard buries his hand in the dish; He will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.The slothful hideth his hand under his armpit, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth.
Proverbs 19:25Smite a scoffer, and the simple will learn prudence; And reprove one that hath understanding, [and] he will understand knowledge. Flog a scoffer, and the simple will learn prudence; Rebuke one who has understanding, and he will gain knowledge.The wicked man being; scourged, the fool shall be wiser: but if thou rebuke a wise man he will understand discipline.
Proverbs 19:26He that doeth violence to his father, and chaseth away his mother, Is a son that causeth shame and bringeth reproach. He who robs his father and drives away his mother, Is a son who causes shame and brings reproach.He that afflicteth his father, and chaseth away his mother, is infamous and unhappy.
Proverbs 19:27Cease, my son, to hear instruction [Only] to err from the words of knowledge. Stop, my son, listening to instruction, And you will stray from the words of knowledge.Cease not, O my son, to hear instruction, and be not ignorant of the words of knowledge.
Proverbs 19:28A worthless witness mocketh at justice; And the mouth of the wicked swalloweth iniquity. A corrupt witness mocks justice, And the mouth of the wicked gulps down iniquity.An unjust witness scorneth judgment: and the mouth of the wicked devoureth iniquity.
Proverbs 19:29Judgments are prepared for scoffers, And stripes for the back of fools. Penalties are prepared for scoffers, And beatings for the backs of fools.Judgments are prepared for scorners: and striking hammers for the bodies of fools.
