Psalms 27:1Jehovah is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? Jehovah is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid? Yahweh is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? Yahweh is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid?A psalm for David himself. Unto thee will I cry, O Lord: O my God, be not thou silent to me: lest thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit.{[A Psalm] of David.} Jehovah is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? Jehovah is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Psalms 27:2When evil-doers came upon me to eat up my flesh, [Even] mine adversaries and my foes, they stumbled and fell. When evil-doers came at me to eat up my flesh, Even my adversaries and my foes, they stumbled and fell.Hear, O Lord, the voice of my supplication, when I pray to thee; when I lift up my hands to thy holy temple. When evil-doers, mine adversaries and mine enemies, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
Psalms 27:3Though a host should encamp against me, My heart shall not fear: Though war should rise against me, Even then will I be confident. Though a host should encamp against me, My heart shall not fear. Though war should rise against me, Even then I will be confident.Draw me not away together with the wicked; and with the workers of iniquity destroy me not: Who speak peace with their neighbour, but evils are in their hearts. If a host encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; if war rise against me, in this will I be confident.
Psalms 27:4One thing have I asked of Jehovah, that will I seek after; That I may dwell in the house of Jehovah all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of Jehovah, And to inquire in his temple. One thing have I asked of Yahweh, that will I seek after, That I may dwell in the house of Yahweh all the days of my life, To see the beauty of Yahweh, And to inquire in his temple.Give them according to their works, and according to the wickedness of their inventions. According to the works of their hands give thou to them: render to them their reward. One [thing] have I asked of Jehovah, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of Jehovah all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of Jehovah, and to inquire [of him] in his temple.
Psalms 27:5For in the day of trouble he will keep me secretly in his pavilion: In the covert of his tabernacle will he hide me; He will lift me up upon a rock. For in the day of trouble he will keep me secretly in his pavilion. In the covert of his tent will he hide me. He will lift me up on a rock.Because they have not understood the works of the Lord, and the operations of his hands: thou shalt destroy them, and shalt not build them up.For in the day of evil he will hide me in his pavilion; in the secret of his tent will he keep me concealed: he will set me high upon a rock.
Psalms 27:6And now shall my head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me. And I will offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto Jehovah. Now shall my head be lifted up above my enemies around me. I will offer sacrifices of joy in his tent. I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to Yahweh.Blessed be the Lord, for he hath heard the voice of my supplication. And now shall my head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me; and I will offer in his tent sacrifices of shouts of joy: I will sing, yea, I will sing psalms unto Jehovah.
Psalms 27:7Hear, O Jehovah, when I cry with my voice: Have mercy also upon me, and answer me. Hear, Yahweh, when I cry with my voice. Have mercy also on me, and answer me.The Lord is my helper and my protector: in him hath my heart confided, and I have been helped. And my flesh hath flourished again, and with my will I will give praise to him.Hear, Jehovah; with my voice do I call; be gracious unto me, and answer me.
Psalms 27:8[When thou saidst], Seek ye my face; My heart said unto thee, Thy face, Jehovah, will I seek. When you said, "Seek my face," My heart said to you, "I will seek your face, Yahweh."The Lord is the strength of his people, and the protector of the salvation of his anointed. My heart said for thee, Seek ye my face. Thy face, O Jehovah, will I seek.
Psalms 27:9Hide not thy face from me; Put not thy servant away in anger: Thou hast been my help; Cast me not off, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation. Don't hide your face from me. Don't put your servant away in anger. You have been my help. Don't abandon me, neither forsake me, God of my salvation.Save, O Lord, thy people, and bless thy inheritance: and rule them and exalt them for ever.Hide not thy face from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; cast me not off, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.
Psalms 27:10When my father and my mother forsake me, Then Jehovah will take me up. When my father and my mother forsake me, Then Yahweh will take me up.For had my father and my mother forsaken me, then had Jehovah taken me up.
Psalms 27:11Teach me thy way, O Jehovah; And lead me in a plain path, Because of mine enemies. Teach me your way, Yahweh. Lead me in a straight path, because of my enemies.Teach me thy way, Jehovah, and lead me in an even path, because of mine enemies.
Psalms 27:12Deliver me not over unto the will of mine adversaries: For false witnesses are risen up against me, And such as breathe out cruelty. Don't deliver me over to the desire of my adversaries, For false witnesses have risen up against me, Such as breathe out cruelty.Deliver me not over to the will of mine adversaries; for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out violence.
Psalms 27:13[I had fainted], unless I had believed to see the goodness of Jehovah In the land of the living. I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of Yahweh in the land of the living.Unless I had believed to see the goodness of Jehovah in the land of the living ...!
Psalms 27:14Wait for Jehovah: Be strong, and let thy heart take courage; Yea, wait thou for Jehovah. Psalm 28 [A Psalm] of David. Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh. Psalm 28 By David.Wait for Jehovah; be strong and let thy heart take courage: yea, wait for Jehovah.
