| Job 16:1 | Then Job answered and said, | And Job answereth and saith: | And Job answered and said, | Then Job answered, and said: |
| Job 16:2 | I have heard many such things: Miserable comforters are ye all. | I have heard many such things, Miserable comforters [are] ye all. | I have heard many such things: grievous comforters are ye all. | I have often heard such things as these: you are all troublesome comforters. |
| Job 16:3 | Shall vain words have an end? Or what provoketh thee that thou answerest? | Is there an end to words of wind? Or what doth embolden thee that thou answerest? | Shall words of wind have an end? or what provoketh thee that thou answerest? | Shall windy words have no end? or is it any trouble to thee to speak? |
| Job 16:4 | I also could speak as ye do; If your soul were in my soul's stead, I could join words together against you, And shake my head at you. | I also, like you, might speak, If your soul were in my soul`s stead. I might join against you with words, And nod at you with my head. | I also could speak as ye: if your soul were in my soul's stead, I could join together words against you, and shake my head at you; | I also could speak like you: and would God your soul were for my soul. |
| Job 16:5 | [But] I would strengthen you with my mouth, And the solace of my lips would assuage [your grief]. | I might harden you with my mouth, And the moving of my lips might be sparing. | [But] I would encourage you with my mouth, and the solace of my lips should assuage [your pain]. | I would comfort you also with words, and would wag my head over you. |
| Job 16:6 | Though I speak, my grief is not assuaged; And though I forbear, what am I eased? | If I speak, my pain is not restrained, And I cease what goeth from me? | If I speak, my pain is not assuaged; and if I forbear, what am I eased? | I would strengthen you with my mouth, and would move my lips, as sparing you. |
| Job 16:7 | But now he hath made me weary: Thou hast made desolate all my company. | Only, now, it hath wearied me; Thou hast desolated all my company, | But now he hath made me weary; ... thou hast made desolate all my family; | But what shall I do? If I speak, my pain will not rest: and if I hold my peace, it will not depart from me. |
| Job 16:8 | And thou hast laid fast hold on me, [which] is a witness [against me]: And my leanness riseth up against me, It testifieth to my face. | And Thou dost loathe me, For a witness it hath been, And rise up against me doth my failure, In my face it testifieth. | Thou hast shrivelled me up! it is become a witness; and my leanness riseth up against me, it beareth witness to my face. | But now my sorrow hath oppressed me, and all my limbs are brought to nothing. |
| Job 16:9 | He hath torn me in his wrath, and persecuted me; He hath gnashed upon me with his teeth: Mine adversary sharpeneth his eyes upon me. | His anger hath torn, and he hateth me, He hath gnashed at me with his teeth, My adversary sharpeneth his eyes for me. | His anger teareth and pursueth me; he gnasheth with his teeth against me; [as] mine adversary he sharpeneth his eyes at me. | My wrinkles bear witness against me, and a false speaker riseth up against my face, contradicting me. |

| Job 16:11 | God delivereth me to the ungodly, And casteth me into the hands of the wicked. | God shutteth me up unto the perverse, And to the hands of the wicked turneth me over. | ùGod hath delivered me over to the iniquitous man, and hurled me into the hands of the wicked. | They have opened their mouths upon me, and reproaching me they have struck me on the cheek, they are filled with my pains. |
| Job 16:12 | I was at ease, and he brake me asunder; Yea, he hath taken me by the neck, and dashed me to pieces: He hath also set me up for his mark. | At ease I have been, and he breaketh me, And he hath laid hold on my neck, And he breaketh me in pieces, And he raiseth me to him for a mark. | I was at rest, but he hath shattered me; he hath taken me by the neck and shaken me to pieces, and set me up for his mark. | God hath shut me up with the unjust man, and hath delivered me into the hands of the wicked. |

He splitteth my reins, and spareth not, He poureth out to the earth my gall. | His arrows encompass me round about, he cleaveth my reins asunder and doth not spare; he poureth out my gall upon the ground. | I that was formerly so wealthy, am all on a sudden broken to pieces: he hath taken me by my neck, he hath broken me, and hath set me up to be his mark. |
| Job 16:14 | He breaketh me with breach upon breach; He runneth upon me like a giant. | He breaketh me breach upon breach, He runneth upon me as a mighty one. | He breaketh me with breach upon breach; he runneth upon me like a mighty man. | He hath compassed me round about with his lances, he hath wounded my loins, he hath not spared, and hath poured out my bowels on the earth. |
| Job 16:15 | I have sewed sackcloth upon my skin, And have laid my horn in the dust. | Sackcloth I have sewed on my skin, And have rolled in the dust my horn. | I have sewed sackcloth upon my skin, and rolled my horn in the dust. | He hath torn me with wound upon wound, he hath rushed in upon me like a giant. |

| Job 16:19 | Even now, behold, my witness is in heaven, And he that voucheth for me is on high. | Also, now, lo, in the heavens [is] my witness, And my testifier in the high places. | Even now, behold, my Witness is in the heavens, and he that voucheth for me is in the heights. | O earth, cover not thou my blood, neither let my cry find a hiding place in thee. |
