| Psalms 12:1 | Help, Jehovah; for the godly man ceaseth; For the faithful fail from among the children of men. | To the Overseer, on the octave. A Psalm of David. Save, Jehovah, for the saintly hath failed, For the stedfast have ceased From the sons of men: | {To the chief Musician. Upon Sheminith. A Psalm of David.} Save, Jehovah, for the godly man is gone; for the faithful have failed from among the children of men. | Unto the end, a psalm for David. How long, O Lord, wilt thou forget me unto the end? how long dost thou turn away thy face from me? |
| Psalms 12:2 | They speak falsehood every one with his neighbor: With flattering lip, and with a double heart, do they speak. | Vanity they speak each with his neighbour, Lip of flattery! With heart and heart they speak. | They speak falsehood every one with his neighbour: [with] flattering lip, with a double heart, do they speak. | How long shall I take counsels in my soul, sorrow in my heart all the day? |
| Psalms 12:3 | Jehovah will cut off all flattering lips, The tongue that speaketh great things; | Jehovah doth cut off all lips of flattery, A tongue speaking great things, | Jehovah will cut off all flattering lips, the tongue that speaketh proud things, | How long shall my enemy be exalted over me? |
| Psalms 12:4 | Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; Our lips are our own: who is lord over us? | Who said, `By our tongue we do mightily: Our lips [are] our own; who [is] lord over us?` | Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail, our lips are our own: who [is] lord over us? | Consider, and hear me, O Lord my God. Enlighten my eyes that I never sleep in death: |
| Psalms 12:5 | Because of the oppression of the poor, because of the sighing of the needy, Now will I arise, saith Jehovah; I will set him in the safety he panteth for. | Because of the spoiling of the poor, Because of the groaning of the needy, Now do I arise, saith Jehovah, I set in safety [him who] doth breathe for it. | Because of the oppression of the afflicted, because of the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith Jehovah, I will set [him] in safety, at whom they puff. | lest at any time my enemy say: I have prevailed against him. They that trouble me will rejoice when I am moved: |
| Psalms 12:6 | The words of Jehovah are pure words; As silver tried in a furnace on the earth, Purified seven times. | Sayings of Jehovah [are] pure sayings; Silver tried in a furnace of earth refined sevenfold. | The words of Jehovah are pure words, silver tried in the furnace of earth, purified seven times. | but I have trusted in thy mercy. My heart shall rejoice in thy salvation: I will sing to the Lord, who giveth me good things: yea I will sing to the name of the Lord the most high. |
| Psalms 12:7 | Thou wilt keep them, O Jehovah, Thou wilt preserve them from this generation for ever. | Thou, O Jehovah, dost preserve them, Thou keepest us from this generation to the age. | Thou, Jehovah, wilt keep them, thou wilt preserve them from this generation for ever. | |
| Psalms 12:8 | The wicked walk on every side, When vileness is exalted among the sons of men. Psalm 13 For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. | Around the wicked walk continually, According as vileness is exalted by sons of men! | The wicked walk about on every side, when vileness is exalted among the children of men. | |
