Psalms 54:1Save me, O God, by thy name, And judge me in thy might. To the Overseer with stringed instruments. An instruction, by David, in the coming in of the Ziphim, and they say to Saul, `Is not David hiding himself with us?` O God, by Thy name save me, and by Thy might judge me.{To the chief Musician. On stringed instruments: an instruction. Of David; when the Ziphites came, and said to Saul, Is not David hiding himself with us?} O God, by thy name save me, and by thy strength do me justice.Unto the end, in verses, understanding for David.
Psalms 54:2Hear my prayer, O God; Give ear to the words of my mouth. O God, hear my prayer, Give ear to the sayings of my mouth,O God, hear my prayer; give ear to the words of my mouth.Hear, O God, my prayer, and despise not my supplication:
Psalms 54:3For strangers are risen up against me, And violent men have sought after my soul: They have not set God before them. Selah For strangers have risen up against me And terrible ones have sought my soul, They have not set God before them. Selah.For strangers are risen up against me, and the violent seek after my life: they have not set God before them. Selah.the same are darts.
Psalms 54:4Behold, God is my helper: The Lord is of them that uphold my soul. Lo, God [is] a helper to me, The Lord [is] with those supporting my soul,Behold, God is my helper; the Lord is among them that uphold my soul.be attentive to me and hear me. I am grieved in my exercise; and am troubled,
Psalms 54:5He will requite the evil unto mine enemies: Destroy thou them in thy truth. Turn back doth the evil thing to mine enemies, In Thy truth cut them off.He will requite evil to mine enemies: in thy truth cut them off.at the voice of the enemy, and at the tribulation of the sinner. For they have cast iniquities upon me: and in wrath they were troublesome to me.
Psalms 54:6With a freewill-offering will I sacrifice unto thee: I will give thanks unto thy name, O Jehovah, for it is good. With a free will-offering I sacrifice to Thee, I thank Thy name, O Jehovah, for [it is] good,I will freely sacrifice unto thee; I will praise thy name, O Jehovah, because it is good.My heart is troubled within me: and the fear of death is fallen upon me.
Psalms 54:7For he hath delivered me out of all trouble; And mine eye hath seen [my desire] upon mine enemies. Psalm 55 For the Chief Musician; on stringed instruments. Maschil of David. For, from all adversity He delivered me, And on mine enemies hath mine eye looked!For he hath delivered me out of all trouble; and mine eye hath seen [its desire] upon mine enemies.Fear and trembling are come upon me: and darkness hath covered me.
