Psalms 82:1God standeth in the congregation of God; He judgeth among the gods. A Psalm of Asaph. God hath stood in the company of God, In the midst God doth judge.A canticle of a psalm for Asaph.<A Psalm. Of Asaph.> God is in the meeting-place of God; he is judging among the gods.
Psalms 82:2How long will ye judge unjustly, And respect the persons of the wicked? Selah Till when do ye judge perversely? And the face of the wicked lift up? Selah.O God, who shall be like to thee? hold not thy peace, neither be thou still, O God.How long will you go on judging falsely, having respect for the persons of evil-doers? (Selah.)
Psalms 82:3Judge the poor and fatherless: Do justice to the afflicted and destitute. Judge ye the weak and fatherless, The afflicted and the poor declare righteous.For lo, thy enemies have made a noise: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.Give ear to the cause of the poor and the children without fathers; let those who are troubled and in need have their rights.
Psalms 82:4Rescue the poor and needy: Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked. Let the weak and needy escape, From the hand of the wicked deliver them.They have taken a malicious counsel against thy people, and have consulted against thy saints.Be the saviour of the poor and those who have nothing: take them out of the hand of the evil-doers.
Psalms 82:5They know not, neither do they understand; They walk to and fro in darkness: All the foundations of the earth are shaken. They knew not, nor do they understand, In darkness they walk habitually, Moved are all the foundations of earth.They have said: Come and let us destroy them, so that they be not a nation: and let the name of Israel be remembered no more.They have no knowledge or sense; they go about in the dark: all the bases of the earth are moved.
Psalms 82:6I said, Ye are gods, And all of you sons of the Most High. I I have said, `Gods ye [are], And sons of the Most High all of you,For they have contrived with one consent: they have made a covenant together against thee,I said, You are gods; all of you are the sons of the Most High:
Psalms 82:7Nevertheless ye shall die like men, And fall like one of the princes. But as man ye die, and as one of the heads ye fall,the tabernacles of the Edomites, and the Ismahelites: Moab, and the Agarens,But you will come to death like men, falling like one of the rulers of the earth.
Psalms 82:8Arise, O God, judge the earth; For thou shalt inherit all the nations. Psalm 83 A song. A Psalm of Asaph. Rise, O God, judge the earth, For Thou hast inheritance among all the nations!Gebal, and Ammon and Amalec: the Philistines, with the inhabitants of Tyre.Up! O God, come as judge of the earth; for all the nations are your heritage.
