| Isaiah 64:1 | O let the heavens be broken open and come down, so that the mountains may be shaking before you, | Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might quake at thy presence, | Oh that thou wouldst rend the heavens, that thou wouldst come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence, | Didst Thou not rend the heavens? Thou didst come down, From thy presence did mountains flow, |
| Isaiah 64:2 | As when fire puts the brushwood in flames, or as when water is boiling from the heat of the fire: to make your name feared by your haters, so that the nations may be shaking before you; | as when fire kindleth the brushwood, [and] the fire causeth the waters to boil; to make thy name known to thine adversaries, that the nations may tremble at thy presence! | As when the melting fire burneth, the fire causeth the waters to boil, to make thy name known to thy adversaries, that the nations may tremble at thy presence! | (As fire kindleth stubble Fire causeth water to boil,) To make known Thy name to Thine adversaries, From Thy presence do nations tremble. |
| Isaiah 64:3 | While you do acts of power for which we are not looking, and which have not come to the ears of men in the past. | When thou didst terrible things which we looked not for, thou camest down, the mountains quaked at thy presence. | When thou didst terrible things which we looked not for, thou camest down, the mountains flowed down at thy presence. | In Thy doing fearful things we expect not, Thou didst come down, From Thy presence did mountains flow. |
| Isaiah 64:4 | The ear has not had news of, or the eye seen, ... any God but you, working for the man who is waiting for him. | For from of old men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen a God besides thee, who worketh for him that waiteth for him. | For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, besides thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him. | Even from antiquity [men] have not heard, They have not given ear, Eye hath not seen a God save Thee, He doth work for those waiting for Him. |
| Isaiah 64:5 | Will you not have mercy on him who takes pleasure in doing righteousness, even on those who keep in mind your ways? Truly you were angry, and we went on doing evil, and sinning against you in the past. | Thou meetest him that rejoiceth and worketh righteousness, those that remember thee in thy ways: behold, thou wast wroth, and we sinned: in them [have we been] of long time; and shall we be saved? | Thou meetest him that rejoiceth, and worketh righteousness, those that remember thee in thy ways: behold, thou art wroth; for we have sinned: in those is continuance, and we shall be saved. | Thou hast met with the rejoicer And the doer of righteousness, In Thy ways they remember Thee, Lo, Thou hast been wroth when we sin, By them [is] continuance, and we are saved. |
| Isaiah 64:6 | For we have all become like an unclean person, and all our good acts are like a dirty robe: and we have all become old like a dead leaf, and our sins, like the wind, take us away. | For we are all become as one that is unclean, and all our righteousnesses are as a polluted garment: and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away. | But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. | And we are as unclean all of us, And as a garment passing away, all our righteous acts; And we fade as a leaf all of us. And our iniquities as wind do take us away. |
| Isaiah 64:7 | And there is no one who makes prayer to your name, or who is moved to keep true to you: for your face is veiled from us, and you have given us into the power of our sins. | And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee; for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us by means of our iniquities. | And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities. | And there is none calling in Thy name, Stirring up himself to lay hold on Thee, For Thou hast hid Thy face from us, And thou meltest us away by our iniquities. |
| Isaiah 64:8 | But now, O Lord, you are our father; we are the earth, and you are our maker; and we are all the work of your hand. | But now, O Jehovah, thou art our Father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand. | But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand. | And now, O Jehovah, thou [art] our Father, We [are] the clay, and Thou our Framer, And the work of Thy hand all of us. |
| Isaiah 64:9 | Be not very angry, O Lord, and do not keep our sins in mind for ever: give ear to our prayer, for we are all your people. | Be not wroth very sore, O Jehovah, neither remember iniquity for ever: behold, look, we beseech thee, we are all thy people. | Be not very wroth, O LORD, neither remember iniquity for ever: behold, see, we beseech thee, we are all thy people. | Be not wroth, O Jehovah, very sore, Nor for ever remember iniquity, Lo, look attentively, we beseech Thee, Thy people [are] we all. |
| Isaiah 64:10 | Your holy towns have become a waste, Zion has become a waste, Jerusalem is a mass of broken walls. | Thy holy cities are become a wilderness, Zion is become a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation. | Thy holy cities are a wilderness, Zion is a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation. | Thy holy cities have been a wilderness, Zion a wilderness hath been, Jerusalem a desolation. |
| Isaiah 64:11 | Our holy and beautiful house, where our fathers gave praise to you, is burned with fire; and all the things of our desire have come to destruction. | Our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised thee, is burned with fire; and all our pleasant places are laid waste. | Our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised thee, is burned with fire: and all our pleasant things are laid waste. | Our holy and our beautiful house, Where praise Thee did our fathers, Hath become burnt with fire, And all our desirable things have become a waste. |
| Isaiah 64:12 | In view of all this, will you still do nothing, O Lord? will you keep quiet, and go on increasing our punishment? | Wilt thou refrain thyself for these things, O Jehovah? wilt thou hold thy peace, and afflict us very sore? | Wilt thou refrain thyself for these things, O LORD? wilt thou hold thy peace, and grievously afflict us? | For these dost Thou refrain Thyself, Jehovah? Thou art silent, and dost afflict us very sore!` |
