Psalms 41:1<To the chief music-maker. A Psalm. Of David.> Happy is the man who gives thought to the poor; the Lord will be his saviour in the time of trouble.Blessed is he that considereth the poor: Jehovah will deliver him in the day of evil.
Psalms 41:2The Lord will keep him safe, and give him life; the Lord will let him be a blessing on the earth, and will not give him into the hand of his haters.Jehovah will preserve him, and keep him alive, And he shall be blessed upon the earth; And deliver not thou him unto the will of his enemies.
Psalms 41:3The Lord will be his support on his bed of pain: by you will all his grief be turned to strength.Jehovah will support him upon the couch of languishing: Thou makest all his bed in his sickness.
Psalms 41:4I said, Lord, have mercy on me; make my soul well, because my faith is in you.I said, O Jehovah, have mercy upon me: Heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.
Psalms 41:5My haters say evil against me, When will he be dead, and his name come to an end?Mine enemies speak evil against me, [saying], When will he die, and his name perish?
Psalms 41:6If one comes to see me, deceit is in his heart; he keeps a store of evil, which he makes public in every place.And if he come to see [me], he speaketh falsehood; His heart gathereth iniquity to itself: When he goeth abroad, he telleth it.
Psalms 41:7All my haters are talking secretly together against me; they are designing my downfall.All that hate me whisper together against me; Against me do they devise my hurt.
Psalms 41:8They say, He has an evil disease, which will not let him go: and now that he is down he will not get up again.An evil disease, [say they], cleaveth fast unto him; And now that he lieth he shall rise up no more.
Psalms 41:9Even my dearest friend, in whom I had faith, who took bread with me, is turned against me.Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, Who did eat of my bread, Hath lifted up his heel against me.
Psalms 41:10But you, O Lord, have mercy on me, lifting me up, so that I may give them their punishment.But thou, O Jehovah, have mercy upon me, and raise me up, That I may requite them.
Psalms 41:11By this I see that you have pleasure in me, because my hater does not overcome me.By this I know that thou delightest in me, Because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.
Psalms 41:12And as for me, you are my support in my righteousness, giving me a place before your face for ever.And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, And settest me before thy face for ever.
Psalms 41:13May the Lord God of Israel be praised, through eternal days and for ever. So be it. So be it.Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, From everlasting and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen. Book II Psalm 42 For the Chief Musician. Maschil of the sons of Korah.
