Psalms 64:1<To the chief music-maker. A Psalm. Of David.> O God, let the voice of my grief come to your ear: keep my life from the fear of those who are against me.{To the chief Musician. A Psalm of David.} Hear, O God, my voice in my plaint; preserve my life from fear of the enemy:To the end, a psalm of David. The canticle of Jeremias and Ezechiel to the people of the captivity, when they began to go out.Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint: Preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
Psalms 64:2Keep me safe from the secret purpose of wrongdoers; from the band of the workers of evil;Hide me from the secret counsel of evil-doers, from the tumultuous crowd of the workers of iniquity,A Hymn, O God, becometh thee in Sion: and a vow shall be paid to thee in Jerusalem.Hide me from the secret counsel of evil-doers, From the tumult of the workers of iniquity;
Psalms 64:3Who make their tongues sharp like a sword, and whose arrows are pointed, even bitter words;Who have sharpened their tongue like a sword, [and] have aimed their arrow, a bitter word;O hear my prayer: all flesh shall come to thee.Who have whet their tongue like a sword, And have aimed their arrows, even bitter words,
Psalms 64:4So that in secret they may let loose their arrows at the upright, suddenly and unseen.That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.The words of the wicked have prevailed over us: and thou wilt pardon our transgressions.That they may shoot in secret places at the perfect: Suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.
Psalms 64:5They make themselves strong in an evil purpose; they make holes for secret nets; they say, Who will see it,They encourage themselves in an evil matter, they concert to hide snares; they say, Who will see them?Blessed is he whom thou hast chosen and taken to thee: he shall dwell in thy courts. We shall be filled with the good things of thy house; holy is thy temple,They encourage themselves in an evil purpose; They commune of laying snares privily; They say, Who will see them?
Psalms 64:6Or make discovery of our secret purpose? The design is framed with care; and the inner thought of a man, and his heart, is deep.They devise iniquities: We have it ready, the plan is diligently sought out. And each one's inward [thought] and heart is deep.wonderful in justice. Hear us, O God our saviour, who art the hope of all the ends of the earth, and in the sea afar off.They search out iniquities; We have accomplished, [say they], a diligent search: And the inward thought and the heart of every one is deep.
Psalms 64:7But God sends out an arrow against them; suddenly they are wounded.But God will shoot an arrow at them: suddenly are they wounded;Thou who preparest the mountains by thy strength, being girded with power:But God will shoot at them; With an arrow suddenly shall they be wounded.
Psalms 64:8The evil of their tongues is the cause of their fall; all those who see them are shaking their heads at them.By their own tongue they are made to fall over one another: all that see them shall flee away.who troublest the depth of the sea, the noise of its waves. The Gentiles shall be troubled,So they shall be made to stumble, their own tongue being against them: All that see them shall wag the head.
Psalms 64:9And in fear men make public the works of God; and giving thought to his acts they get wisdom.And all men shall fear, and shall declare God's doing; and they shall wisely consider his work.and they that dwell in the uttermost borders shall be afraid at thy signs: thou shalt make the outgoings of the morning and of the evening to be joyful.And all men shall fear; And they shall declare the work of God, And shall wisely consider of his doing.
Psalms 64:10The upright will be glad in the Lord and have hope in him; and all the lovers of righteousness will give him glory.The righteous shall rejoice in Jehovah, and trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.Thou hast visited the earth, and hast plentifully watered it; thou hast many ways enriched it. The river of God is filled with water, thou hast prepared their food: for so is its preparation.The righteous shall be glad in Jehovah, and shall take refuge in him; And all the upright in heart shall glory. Psalm 65 For the Chief Musician. A Psalm. A song of David.
