Psalms 62:1<To the chief music-maker. After Jeduthun. A Psalm. Of David.> My soul, put all your faith in God; for from him comes my salvation.{To the chief Musician. On Jeduthun. A Psalm of David.} Upon God alone doth my soul rest peacefully; from him is my salvation.A psalm of David when he was in the desert of Edom.Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.
Psalms 62:2He only is my Rock and my salvation; he is my high tower; I will not be greatly moved. He only is my rock and my salvation; my high fortress: I shall not be greatly moved.O God, my God, to thee do I watch at break of day. For thee my soul hath thirsted; for thee my flesh, O how many ways!He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.
Psalms 62:3How long will you go on designing evil against a man? running against him as against a broken wall, which is on the point of falling? How long will ye assail a man; will ye [seek], all of you, to break him down as a bowing wall or a tottering fence? In a desert land, and where there is no way, and no water: so in the sanctuary have I come before thee, to see thy power and thy glory. How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.
Psalms 62:4Their only thought is to put him down from his place of honour; their delight is in deceit: blessing is in their mouths but cursing in their hearts. (Selah.)They only consult to thrust [him] down from his excellency; they delight in lies; they bless with their mouth, but in their inward part they curse. Selah. For thy mercy is better than lives: thee my lips shall praise. They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.
Psalms 62:5My soul, put all your faith in God; for from him comes my hope.Upon God alone, O my soul, rest peacefully; for my expectation is from him. Thus will I bless thee all my life long: and in thy name I will lift up my hands. My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.
Psalms 62:6He only is my Rock and my salvation; he is my high tower; I will not be greatly moved. He only is my rock and my salvation; my high fortress: I shall not be moved.Let my soul be filled as with marrow and fatness: and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips.He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.
Psalms 62:7In God is my salvation, and my glory; the Rock of my strength, and my safe place. With God is my salvation and my glory; the rock of my strength, my refuge is in God.If I have remembered thee upon my bed, I will meditate on thee in the morning:In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
Psalms 62:8Have faith in him at all times, you people; let your hearts go flowing out before him: God is our safe place. (Selah.)Confide in him at all times, ye people; pour out your heart before him: God is our refuge. Selah.because thou hast been my helper. And I will rejoice under the covert of thy wings:Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.
Psalms 62:9Truly men of low birth are nothing, and men of high position are not what they seem; if they are put in the scales together they are less than a breath.Men of low degree are only vanity; men of high degree, a lie: laid in the balance, they go up together [lighter] than vanity.my soul hath stuck close to thee: thy right hand hath received me.Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.
Psalms 62:10Have no faith in the rewards of evil-doing, or in profits wrongly made: if your wealth is increased, do not put your hopes on it.Put not confidence in oppression, and become not vain in robbery; if wealth increase, set not your heart upon it.But they have sought my soul in vain, they shall go into the lower parts of the earth:Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.
Psalms 62:11Once has God said, twice has it come to my ears, that power is God's:Once hath God spoken, twice have I heard this, that strength [belongeth] unto God.They shall be delivered into the hands of the sword, they shall be the portions of foxes.God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.
Psalms 62:12And mercy, O Lord, is yours, for you give to every man the reward of his work. And unto thee, O Lord, [belongeth] loving-kindness; for *thou* renderest to every man according to his work. But the king shall rejoice in God, all they shall be praised that swear by him: because the mouth is stopped of them that speak wicked things. Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.
