Proverbs 12:2A good man has grace in the eyes of the Lord; but the man of evil designs gets punishment from him.A good [man] obtaineth favour of Jehovah; but a man of mischievous devices will he condemn. He that is good, shall draw grace from the Lord : but he that trusteth in his own devices doth wickedly.A good man obtaineth favor from the LORD: but a man of wicked devices he will condemn.
Proverbs 12:3No man will make himself safe through evil-doing; but the root of upright men will never be moved.A man shall not be established by wickedness; but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.Men shall not be strengthened by wickedness: and the root of the just shall not be moved.A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.
Proverbs 12:4A woman of virtue is a crown to her husband; but she whose behaviour is a cause of shame is like a wasting disease in his bones.A woman of worth is a crown to her husband; but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.A diligent woman is a crown to her husband: and she that doth things worthy of confusion, is a rottenness in his bones.A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.
Proverbs 12:5The purposes of upright men are right, but the designs of evil-doers are deceit. The thoughts of the righteous are right; the counsels of the wicked are deceit. The thoughts of the just are judgments: and the counsels of the wicked are deceitful. The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.
Proverbs 12:6The words of sinners are destruction for the upright; but the mouth of upright men is their salvation. The words of the wicked are a lying-in-wait for blood; but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them. The words of the wicked lie in wait for blood: the mouth of the just shall deliver them. The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.
Proverbs 12:7Evil-doers are overturned and never seen again, but the house of upright men will keep its place.Overthrow the wicked, and they are no [more]; but the house of the righteous shall stand.Turn the wicked, and they shall not be: but the house of the just shall stand firm. The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.
Proverbs 12:8A man will be praised in the measure of his wisdom, but a wrong-minded man will be looked down on.A man is commended according to his wisdom; but he that is of a perverted heart shall be despised.A man shall be known by his learning: but he that is vain and foolish, shall be exposed to contempt.A man shall be commended according to his wisdom: but he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised.
Proverbs 12:9He who is of low position and has a servant, is better than one who has a high opinion of himself and is in need of bread.Better is he that is lightly esteemed, and hath a servant, than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread.Better is the poor man that provideth for himself, than he that is glorious and wanteth bread. He that is despised, and hath a servant, is better than he that honoreth himself, and is destitute of bread.
Proverbs 12:10An upright man has thought for the life of his beast, but the hearts of evil-doers are cruel.A righteous man is concerned for the life of his beast; but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel. The just regardeth the lives of his beasts: but the bowels of the wicked are cruel.A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
Proverbs 12:11He who does work on his land will not be short of bread; but he who goes after foolish men is without sense. He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread; but he that followeth the worthless is void of understanding. He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that pursueth idleness is very foolish. He that is delighted in passing his time over wine, leaveth a reproach in his strong holds. He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding.
Proverbs 12:12The resting-place of the sinner will come to destruction, but the root of upright men is for ever. The wicked desireth the net of evil [men]; but the root of the righteous yieldeth [fruit].The desire of the wicked is the fortification of evil men: but the root of the just shall prosper. The wicked desireth the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit.
Proverbs 12:13In the sin of the lips is a net which takes the sinner, but the upright man will come out of trouble. In the transgression of the lips is an evil snare; but a righteous [man] shall go forth out of trouble. For the sins of the lips ruin draweth nigh to the evil mall: but the just shall escape out of distress. The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble.
Proverbs 12:14From the fruit of his mouth will a man have good food in full measure, and the work of a man's hands will be rewarded.A man is satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth; and the recompense of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him.By the fruit of his own mouth shall a man be filled with good things, and according to the works of his hands it shall be repaid him.A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompense of a man's hands shall be rendered to him.
Proverbs 12:15The way of the foolish man seems right to him? but the wise man gives ear to suggestions. The way of a fool is right in his own eyes; but he that is wise hearkeneth unto counsel. The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that is wise hearkeneth unto counsels. The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth to counsel is wise.
Proverbs 12:16A foolish man lets his trouble be openly seen, but a sharp man keeps shame secret. The vexation of the fool is presently known; but a prudent [man] covereth shame.A fool immediately sheweth his anger: but he that dissembleth injuries is wise.A fool's wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame.
Proverbs 12:17The breathing out of true words gives knowledge of righteousness; but a false witness gives out deceit. He that uttereth truth sheweth forth righteousness; but a false witness deceit. He that speaketh that which he knoweth, sheweth forth justice: but he that lieth, is a deceitful witness. He that speaketh truth showeth forth righteousness: but a false witness, deceit.
Proverbs 12:18There are some whose uncontrolled talk is like the wounds of a sword, but the tongue of the wise makes one well again. There is that babbleth like the piercings of a sword; but the tongue of the wise is health. There is that promiseth, and is pricked as it were with a sword of conscience: but the tongue of the wise is health. There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.
Proverbs 12:19True lips are certain for ever, but a false tongue is only for a minute. The lip of truth shall be established for ever; but a lying tongue is but for a moment. The lip of truth shall be steadfast for ever: but he that is a hasty witness, frameth a lying tongue. The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.
Proverbs 12:20Deceit is in the heart of those whose designs are evil, but for those purposing peace there is joy.Deceit is in the heart of them that devise evil; but to the counsellors of peace is joy.Deceit is in the heart of them that think evil things: but joy followeth them that take counsels of peace.Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counselors of peace is joy.
Proverbs 12:21No trouble will come to upright men, but sinners will be full of evil. There shall no evil happen to a righteous [man]; but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.Whatsoever shall befall the just man. it shall not make him sad: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief. There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.
Proverbs 12:22False lips are hated by the Lord, but those whose acts are true are his delight.Lying lips are an abomination to Jehovah; but they that deal truly are his delight.Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord: but they that deal faithfully please him.Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight.
Proverbs 12:23A sharp man keeps back his knowledge; but the heart of foolish men makes clear their foolish thoughts.A prudent man concealeth knowledge; but the heart of the foolish proclaimeth folly.A cautious man concealeth knowledge: and the heart of fools publisheth folly.A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.
Proverbs 12:24The hand of the ready worker will have authority, but he who is slow in his work will be put to forced work. The hand of the diligent shall bear rule; but the slothful [hand] shall be under tribute. The hand of the valiant shall bear rule: but that which is slothful, shall be under tribute. The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.
Proverbs 12:25Care in the heart of a man makes it weighted down, but a good word makes it glad.Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop; but a good word maketh it glad.Grief in the heart of a man shall bring him low, but with a good word he shall be made glad.Heaviness in the heart of man depresseth it: but a good word maketh it glad.
Proverbs 12:26The upright man is a guide to his neighbour, but the way of evil-doers is a cause of error to them. The righteous guideth his neighbour; but the way of the wicked misleadeth them.He that neglecteth a loss for the sake of a friend, is just: but the way of the wicked shall deceive them. The righteous is more excellent than his neighbor: but the way of the wicked seduceth them.
Proverbs 12:27He who is slow in his work does not go in search of food; but the ready worker gets much wealth. The slothful roasteth not what he took in hunting; but man's precious substance is to the diligent. The deceitful man shall not find gain: but the substance of a just man shall be precious gold. The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious.
Proverbs 12:28In the road of righteousness is life, but the way of the evil-doer goes to death. In the path of righteousness is life, and in the pathway thereof there is no death. In the path of justice is life: but the by-way leadeth to death. In the way of righteousness is life; and in the path of it there is no death.
