| Psalms 77:2 | In the day of my trouble, my heart was turned to the Lord: my hand was stretched out in the night without resting; my soul would not be comforted. | In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord: my sore ran in the night, and ceased not: my soul refused to be comforted. | I will open my mouth in parables: I will utter propositions from the beginning. | |

How great things he commanded our fathers, that they should make the same known to their children: | |
| Psalms 77:6 | The memory of my song comes back to me in the night; my thoughts are moving in my heart; my spirit is searching with care. | I call to remembrance my song in the night: I commune with mine own heart: and my spirit made diligent search. | that another generation might know them. The children that should be born and should rise up, and declare them to their children. | |
| Psalms 77:7 | Will the Lord put me away for ever? will he be kind no longer? | Will the Lord cast off for ever? and will he be favourable no more? | That they may put their hope in God and may not forget the works of God: and may seek his commandments. | |
| Psalms 77:8 | Is his mercy quite gone for ever? has his word come to nothing? | Is his mercy clean gone for ever? doth his promise fail for evermore? | That they may not become like their fathers, a perverse end exasperating generation. A generation that set not their heart aright: and whose spirit was not faithful to God. | |
