Psalms 64:1<To the chief music-maker. A Psalm. Of David.> O God, let the voice of my grief come to your ear: keep my life from the fear of those who are against me.Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.Hear my voice, God, in my complaint. Preserve my life from fear of the enemy.{To the chief Musician. A Psalm of David.} Hear, O God, my voice in my plaint; preserve my life from fear of the enemy:
Psalms 64:2Keep me safe from the secret purpose of wrongdoers; from the band of the workers of evil;Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity:Hide me from the conspiracy of the wicked, From the noisy crowd of the ones doing evil;Hide me from the secret counsel of evil-doers, from the tumultuous crowd of the workers of iniquity,
Psalms 64:3Who make their tongues sharp like a sword, and whose arrows are pointed, even bitter words;Who whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words:Who sharpen their tongue like a sword, And aim their arrows, deadly words,Who have sharpened their tongue like a sword, [and] have aimed their arrow, a bitter word;
Psalms 64:4So that in secret they may let loose their arrows at the upright, suddenly and unseen.That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.To shoot innocent men from ambushes. They shoot at him suddenly and fearlessly.That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.
Psalms 64:5They make themselves strong in an evil purpose; they make holes for secret nets; they say, Who will see it,They encourage themselves in an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them?They encourage themselves in evil plans. They talk about laying snares secretly. They say, "Who will see them?"They encourage themselves in an evil matter, they concert to hide snares; they say, Who will see them?
Psalms 64:6Or make discovery of our secret purpose? The design is framed with care; and the inner thought of a man, and his heart, is deep.They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep.They plot injustice, saying, "We have made a perfect plan!" Surely man's mind and heart are cunning.They devise iniquities: We have it ready, the plan is diligently sought out. And each one's inward [thought] and heart is deep.
Psalms 64:7But God sends out an arrow against them; suddenly they are wounded.But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded.But God will shoot at them. They will be suddenly struck down with an arrow.But God will shoot an arrow at them: suddenly are they wounded;
Psalms 64:8The evil of their tongues is the cause of their fall; all those who see them are shaking their heads at them.So they shall make their own tongue to fall upon themselves: all that see them shall flee away.Their own tongues shall ruin them. All who see them will shake their heads.By their own tongue they are made to fall over one another: all that see them shall flee away.
Psalms 64:9And in fear men make public the works of God; and giving thought to his acts they get wisdom.And all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing.All mankind shall be afraid. They shall declare the work of God, And shall wisely ponder what he has done.And all men shall fear, and shall declare God's doing; and they shall wisely consider his work.
Psalms 64:10The upright will be glad in the Lord and have hope in him; and all the lovers of righteousness will give him glory.The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.The righteous shall be glad in Yahweh, And shall take refuge in him. All the upright in heart shall praise him! Psalm 65 For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by David. A song.The righteous shall rejoice in Jehovah, and trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.
