Psalms 83:1<A Song. A Psalm. Of Asaph.> O God, do not keep quiet: let your lips be open and take no rest, O God.{A Song; a Psalm of Asaph.} O God, keep not silence; hold not thy peace, and be not still, O ùGod:O God, keep not thou silence: Hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.
Psalms 83:2For see! those who make war on you are out of control; your haters are lifting up their heads.For behold, thine enemies make a tumult; and they that hate thee lift up the head.For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult; And they that hate thee have lifted up the head.
Psalms 83:3They have made wise designs against your people, talking together against those whom you keep in a secret place.They take crafty counsel against thy people, and consult against thy hidden ones:Thy take crafty counsel against thy people, And consult together against thy hidden ones.
Psalms 83:4They have said, Come, let us put an end to them as a nation; so that the name of Israel may go out of man's memory.They say, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, and let the name of Israel be mentioned no more.They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; That the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
Psalms 83:5For they have all come to an agreement; they are all joined together against you:For they have consulted together with one heart: they have made an alliance together against thee.For they have consulted together with one consent; Against thee do they make a covenant:
Psalms 83:6The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab and the Hagarites;The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagarites;The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab, and the Hagarenes;
Psalms 83:7Gebal and Ammon and Amalek; the Philistines and the people of Tyre;Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia, with the inhabitants of Tyre;Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre:
Psalms 83:8Assur is joined with them; they have become the support of the children of Lot. (Selah.)Asshur also is joined with them: they are an arm to the sons of Lot. Selah.Assyria also is joined with them; They have helped the children of Lot. Selah
Psalms 83:9Do to them what you did to the Midianites; what you did to Sisera and Jabin, at the stream of Kishon:Do unto them as to Midian; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the torrent of Kishon:Do thou unto them as unto Midian, As to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the river Kishon;
Psalms 83:10Who came to destruction at En-dor; their bodies became dust and waste.Who were destroyed at Endor; they became as dung for the ground.Who perished at Endor, Who became as dung for the earth.
Psalms 83:11Make their chiefs like Oreb and Zeeb; and all their rulers like Zebah and Zalmunna:Make their nobles as Oreb and as Zeeb; and all their chiefs as Zebah and as Zalmunna.Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb; Yea, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna;
Psalms 83:12Who have said, Let us take for our heritage the resting-place of God.For they have said, Let us take to ourselves God's dwelling-places in possession.Who said, Let us take to ourselves in possession The habitations of God.
Psalms 83:13O my God, make them like the rolling dust; like dry stems before the wind.O my God, make them like a whirling thing, like stubble before the wind.O my God, make them like the whirling dust; As stubble before the wind.
Psalms 83:14As fire burning a wood, and as a flame causing fire on the mountains,As fire burneth a forest, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire,As the fire that burneth the forest, And as the flame that setteth the mountains on fire,
Psalms 83:15So go after them with your strong wind, and let them be full of fear because of your storm.So pursue them with thy tempest, and terrify them with thy whirlwind.So pursue them with thy tempest, And terrify them with thy storm.
Psalms 83:16Let their faces be full of shame; so that they may give honour to your name, O Lord.Fill their faces with shame, that they may seek thy name, O Jehovah.Fill their faces with confusion, That they may seek thy name, O Jehovah.
