Psalms 89:1<Maschil. Of Ethan the Ezrahite.> My song will be of the mercies of the Lord for ever: with my mouth will I make his faith clear to all generations.I will sing of the lovingkindness of Yahweh forever. With my mouth, I will make known your faithfulness to all generations.A prayer of Moses the man of God. Lord, thou hast been our refuge from generation to generation.Maschil of Ethan the Ezrahite. I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.
Psalms 89:2For you have said, Mercy will be made strong for ever; my faith will be unchanging in the heavens.I indeed declare, "Love stands firm forever. You established the heavens. Your faithfulness is in them."Before the mountains were made, or the earth and the world was formed; from eternity and to eternity thou art God.For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness wilt thou establish in the very heavens.
Psalms 89:3I have made an agreement with the man of my selection, I have made an oath to David my servant;"I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have sworn to David, my servant,Turn not man away to be brought low: and thou hast said: Be converted, O ye sons of men.I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn to David my servant,
Psalms 89:4I will make your seed go on for ever, your kingdom will be strong through all generations. (Selah.)'I will establish your seed forever, And build up your throne to all generations.'" Selah.For a thousand years in thy sight are as yesterday, which is past. And as a watch in the night,Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah.
Psalms 89:5In heaven let them give praise for your wonders, O Lord; and your unchanging faith among the saints.The heavens will praise your wonders, Yahweh; Your faithfulness also in the assembly of the holy ones.things that are counted nothing, shall their years be.And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O LORD; thy faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints.
Psalms 89:6For who is there in the heavens in comparison with the Lord? who is like the Lord among the sons of the gods?For who in the skies can be compared to Yahweh? Who among the sons of the heavenly beings is like Yahweh,In the morning man shall grow up like grass; in the morning he shall flourish and pass away: in the evening he shall fall, grow dry, and wither.For who in the heaven can be compared to the LORD? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened to the LORD?
Psalms 89:7God is greatly to be feared among the saints, and to be honoured over all those who are about him.A very awesome God in the council of the holy ones, To be feared above all those who are around him?For in thy wrath we have fainted away: and are troubled in thy indignation.God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence by all them that are about him.
Psalms 89:8O Lord God of armies, who is strong like you, O Jah? and your unchanging faith is round about you.Yahweh, God of hosts, who is a mighty one, like you? Yah, your faithfulness is around you.Thou hast set our iniquities before thy eyes: our life in the light of thy countenance.O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like to thee? or to thy faithfulness around thee?
Psalms 89:9You have rule over the sea in storm; when its waves are troubled, you make them calm.You rule the pride of the sea. When its waves rise up, you calm them.For all our days are spent; and in thy wrath we have fainted away. Our years shall be considered spider:Thou rulest the raging of the sea: when its waves arise, thou stillest them.
Psalms 89:10Rahab was crushed by you like one wounded to death; with your strong arm you put to flight all your haters.You have broken Rahab in pieces, like one of the slain. You have scattered your enemies with your mighty arm.the days of our years in them are threescore and ten years. But if in the strong they be fourscore years: and what is more of them is labour and sorrow. For mildness is come upon us: and we shall be corrected.Thou hast broken Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thy enemies with thy strong arm.
Psalms 89:11Yours are the heavens, and the earth is yours; you have made the world, and everything which is in it.The heavens are yours, the earth also is yours; The world and its fullness. You have founded them.Who knoweth the power of thy anger, and for thy fearThe heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: as for the world, and the fullness of it, thou hast founded them.
Psalms 89:12You have made the north and the south; Tabor and Hermon are sounding with joy at your name.The north and the south, you have created them. Tabor and Hermon rejoice in your name.can number thy wrath? So make thy right hand known: and men learned in heart, in wisdom.The north and the south thou hast created them: Tabor and Hermon shall rejoice in thy name.
Psalms 89:13Yours is an arm of power; strong is your hand and high your right hand.You have a mighty arm. Your hand is strong, and your right hand is exalted.Return, O Lord, how long? and be entreated in favour of thy servants.Thou hast a mighty arm: strong is thy hand, and high is thy right hand.
Psalms 89:14The seat of your kingdom is resting on righteousness and right judging: mercy and good faith come before your face.Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne. Lovingkindness and truth go before your face.We are filled in the morning with thy mercy: and we have rejoiced, and are delighted all our days.Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.
Psalms 89:15Happy are the people who have knowledge of the holy cry: the light of your face, O Lord, will be shining on their way.Blessed are the people who learn to acclaim you. They walk in the light of your presence, Yahweh.We have rejoiced for the days in which thou hast humbled us: for the years in which we have seen evils.Blessed are the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance.
Psalms 89:16In your name will they have joy all the day: in your righteousness will they be lifted up.In your name do they rejoice all day. In your righteousness, they are exalted.Look upon thy servants and upon their works: and direct their children.In thy name shall they rejoice all the day: and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted.
Psalms 89:17For you are the glory of their strength; in your pleasure will our horn be lifted up.For you are the glory of their strength. In your favor, our horn will be exalted.And let the brightness of the Lord our God be upon us: and direct thou the works of our hands over us; yea, the work of our hands do thou direct.For thou art the glory of their strength: and in thy favor our horn shall be exalted.
Psalms 89:18For our breastplate is the Lord; and our king is the Holy One of Israel's.For our shield belongs to Yahweh; Our king to the Holy One of Israel.For the LORD is our defense; and the Holy One of Israel is our king.
Psalms 89:19Then your voice came to your holy one in a vision, saying, I have put the crown on a strong one, lifting up one taken from among the people.Then you spoke in vision to your saints, And said, "I have bestowed strength on the warrior. I have exalted a young man from the people.Then thou didst speak in vision to thy holy one, and say, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.
Psalms 89:20I have made discovery of David my servant; I have put my holy oil on his head.I have found David, my servant. I have anointed him with my holy oil,I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him:
Psalms 89:21My hand will be his support; my arm will give him strength.With whom my hand shall be established. My arm will also strengthen him.With whom my hand shall be established: my arm also shall strengthen him.
Psalms 89:22The deceit of those who are against him will not overcome him; he will not be troubled by the sons of evil.No enemy will tax him. No wicked man will oppress him.The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him.
Psalms 89:23I will have those who are against him broken before his face, and his haters will be crushed under my blows.I will beat down his adversaries before him, And strike those who hate him.And I will beat down his foes before his face, and afflict them that hate him.
Psalms 89:24But my faith and my mercy will be with him; and in my name will his horn be lifted up.But my faithfulness and my lovingkindness will be with him. In my name, his horn will be exalted.But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him: and in my name shall his horn be exalted.
Psalms 89:25I will put his hand in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.I will set his hand also on the sea, And his right hand on the rivers.I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.
Psalms 89:26He will say to me, You are my father, my God, and the Rock of my salvation.He will call to me, 'You are my Father, My God, and the rock of my salvation!'He shall cry to me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.
Psalms 89:27And I will make him the first of my sons, most high over the kings of the earth.I will also appoint him my firstborn, The highest of the kings of the earth.Also I will make him my first-born, higher than the kings of the earth.
Psalms 89:28I will keep my mercy for him for ever; my agreement with him will not be changed.I will keep my lovingkindness for him forevermore. My covenant will stand firm with him.My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him.
Psalms 89:29His seed will keep their place for ever; his kingdom will be eternal, like the heavens.I will also make his seed endure forever, And his throne as the days of heaven.His seed also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.
Psalms 89:30If his children give up my law, and are not ruled by my decisions;If his children forsake my law, And don't walk in my ordinances;If his children forsake my law, and walk not in my judgments;
Psalms 89:31If my rules are broken, and my orders are not kept;If they break my statutes, And don't keep my commandments;If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments;
Psalms 89:32Then I will send punishment on them for their sin; my rod will be the reward of their evil-doing.Then I will punish their sin with the rod, And their iniquity with stripes.Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.
Psalms 89:33But I will not take away my mercy from him, and will not be false to my faith.But I will not completely take my lovingkindness from him, Nor allow my faithfulness to fail.Nevertheless my loving-kindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail.
Psalms 89:34I will be true to my agreement; the things which have gone out of my lips will not be changed.I will not break my covenant, Nor alter what my lips have uttered.My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that hath gone out of my lips.
Psalms 89:35I have made an oath once by my holy name, that I will not be false to David.Once have I sworn by my holiness, I will not lie to David.Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie to David.
Psalms 89:36His seed will not come to an end for ever; the seat of his kingdom will be like the sun before me.His seed will endure forever, His throne like the sun before me.His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me.
Psalms 89:37It will be fixed for ever like the moon; and the witness in heaven is true. (Selah.)It will be established forever like the moon, The faithful witness in the sky." Selah.It shall be established for ever as the moon, and as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah.
Psalms 89:38But you have put him away in disgust; you have been angry with the king of your selection.But you have rejected and spurned. You have been angry with your anointed.But thou hast cast off and abhorred, thou hast been wroth with thy anointed.
Psalms 89:39You have made your agreement with your servant of no effect: you have had no respect for his crown, it has come down even to the earth.You have renounced the covenant of your servant. You have defiled his crown in the dust.Thou hast made void the covenant of thy servant: thou hast profaned his crown by casting it to the ground.
Psalms 89:40All his walls are broken down; you have given his strong towers to destruction.You have broken down all his hedges. You have brought his strongholds to ruin.Thou hast broken down all his hedges; thou hast brought his strong holds to ruin.
Psalms 89:41All those who come by take away his goods; he is laughed at by his neighbours.All who pass by the way rob him. He has become a reproach to his neighbors.All that pass by the way plunder him: he is a reproach to his neighbors.
Psalms 89:42You have given power to the right hand of his haters; you have made glad all those who are against him.You have exalted the right hand of his adversaries. You have made all of his enemies rejoice.Thou hast set up the right hand of his adversaries; thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice.
Psalms 89:43His sword is turned back; you have not been his support in the fight.Yes, you turn back the edge of his sword, And haven't supported him in battle.Thou hast also turned the edge of his sword, and hast not made him to stand in the battle.
Psalms 89:44You have put an end to his glory: the seat of his kingdom has been levelled to the earth.You have ended his splendor, And thrown his throne down to the ground.Thou hast made his glory to cease, and cast his throne down to the ground.
Psalms 89:45You have made him old before his time; he is covered with shame. (Selah.)You have shortened the days of his youth. You have covered him with shame. Selah.The days of his youth hast thou shortened: thou hast covered him with shame. Selah.
Psalms 89:46How long, O Lord, will you Keep yourself for ever from our eyes? how long will your wrath be burning like fire?How long, Yahweh? Will you hide yourself forever? Will your wrath burn like fire?How long, LORD, wilt thou hide thyself? for ever? shall thy wrath burn like fire?
Psalms 89:47See how short my time is; why have you made all men for no purpose?Remember how short my time is! For what vanity have you created all the children of men!Remember how short my time is: why hast thou made all men in vain?
Psalms 89:48What man now living will not see death? will he be able to keep back his soul from the underworld? (Selah.)What man is he who shall live and not see death, Who shall deliver his soul from the power of Sheol? Selah.What man is he that liveth, and shall not see death? shall he deliver his soul from the hand of the grave? Selah.
Psalms 89:49Lord, where are your earlier mercies? where is the oath which you made to David in unchanging faith?Lord, where are your former lovingkindnesses, Which you swore to David in your faithfulness?Lord, where are thy former loving-kindnesses, which thou didst swear to David in thy truth?
Psalms 89:50Keep in mind, O Lord, the shame of your servants, and how the bitter words of all the people have come into my heart;Remember, Lord, the reproach of your servants, How I bear in my heart the taunts of all the mighty peoples,Remember, Lord, the reproach of thy servants; how I do bear in my bosom the reproach of all the mighty people;
Psalms 89:51The bitter words of your haters, O Lord, shaming the footsteps of your king.With which your enemies have mocked, Yahweh, With which they have mocked the footsteps of your anointed one.With which thy enemies have reproached, O LORD; with which they have reproached the footsteps of thy anointed
Psalms 89:52Let the Lord be praised for ever. So be it, So be it.Blessed be Yahweh forevermore. Amen, and Amen. BOOK IV Psalm 90 A Prayer by Moses, the man of God.Blessed be the LORD for evermore. Amen and amen.
