Job 12:1And Job made answer and said,And Job answereth and saith:When Job answered, and said:And Job answered and said,
Job 12:2No doubt you have knowledge, and wisdom will come to an end with you.Truly ye [are] the people, And with you doth wisdom die.Are you then men alone, and shall wisdom die with you?No doubt but ye are the people, and wisdom shall die with you.
Job 12:3But I have a mind as well as you; I am equal to you: yes, who has not knowledge of such things as these?I also have a heart like you, I am not fallen more than you, And with whom is there not like these?I also have a heart as well as you: for who is ignorant of these things, which you know? But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you: yes, who knoweth not such things as these?
Job 12:4It seems that I am to be as one who is a cause of laughing to his neighbour, one who makes his prayer to God and is answered! the upright man who has done no wrong is to be made sport of!A laughter to his friend I am: `He calleth to God, and He answereth him,` A laughter [is] the perfect righteous one.He that is mocked by his friends as I, shall call upon God and he will hear him: for the simplicity of the just man is laughed to scorn.I am as one mocked by his neighbor, who calleth upon God, and he answereth him: the just upright man is derided.
Job 12:5In the thought of him who is in comfort there is no respect for one who is in trouble; such is the fate of those whose feet are slipping.A torch despised in the thoughts of the secure Is prepared for those sliding with the feet. The lamp despised in the thoughts of the rich, is ready for the time appointed. He that is ready to slip with his feet is as a lamp despised in the thought of him that is at ease.
Job 12:6There is wealth in the tents of those who make destruction, and those by whom God is moved to wrath are safe; even those whose god is their strength. At peace are the tents of spoilers, And those provoking God have confidence, He into whose hand God hath brought. The tabernacles of robbers abound, and they provoke God boldly; whereas it is he that hath given all into their hands:The tabernacles of robbers prosper, and they that provoke God are secure; into whose hand God bringeth abundantly.
Job 12:7But put now a question to the beasts, and get teaching from them; or to the birds of the heaven, and they will make it clear to you;And yet, ask, I pray thee, [One of] the beasts, and it doth shew thee, And a fowl of the heavens, And it doth declare to thee. But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee: and the birds of the air, and they shall tell thee. But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee:
Job 12:8Or to the things which go flat on the earth, and they will give you wisdom; and the fishes of the sea will give you news of it.Or talk to the earth, and it sheweth thee, And fishes of the sea recount to thee:Speak to the earth, and it shall answer thee: and the fishes of the sea shall tell.Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare to thee.
Job 12:9Who does not see by all these that the hand of the Lord has done this?`Who hath not known in all these, That the hand of Jehovah hath done this?Who is ignorant that the hand of the Lord hath made all these things?Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the LORD hath wrought this?
Job 12:10In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all flesh of man.In whose hand [is] the breath of every living thing, And the spirit of all flesh of man.`In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the spirit of all flesh of man.In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.
Job 12:11Are not words tested by the ear, even as food is tasted by the mouth?Doth not the ear try words? And the palate taste food for itself?Doth not the ear discern words, and the palate of him that eateth, the taste?Doth not the ear try words? and the mouth taste its food?
Job 12:12Old men have wisdom, and a long life gives knowledge. With the very aged [is] wisdom, And [with] length of days understanding. In the ancient is wisdom, and in length of days prudence. With the ancient is wisdom; and in length of days understanding.
Job 12:13With him there is wisdom and strength; power and knowledge are his. With Him [are] wisdom and might, To him [are] counsel and understanding. With him is wisdom and strength, he hath counsel and understanding. With him is wisdom and strength, he hath counsel and understanding.
Job 12:14Truly, there is no building up of what is pulled down by him; when a man is shut up by him, no one may let him loose.Lo, He breaketh down, and it is not built up, He shutteth against a man, And it is not opened. If he pull down, there is no man that can build up: if he shut up a. man, there is none that can open.Behold, he breaketh down, and it cannot be built again: he shutteth up a man, and there can be no opening.
Job 12:15Truly, he keeps back the waters and they are dry; he sends them out and the earth is overturned.Lo, He keepeth in the waters, and they are dried up, And he sendeth them forth, And they overturn the land.If he withhold the waters, all things shall be dried up: and if he send them out, they shall overturn the earth.Behold, he withholdeth the waters, and they dry up: also he sendeth them out, and they overturn the earth.
Job 12:16With him are strength and wise designs; he who is guided into error, together with his guide, are in his hands; With Him [are] strength and wisdom, His the deceived and deceiver. With him is strength and wisdom: he knoweth both the deceiver, and him that is deceived. With him is strength and wisdom: the deceived and the deceiver are his.
Job 12:17He takes away the wisdom of the wise guides, and makes judges foolish;Causing counsellors to go away a spoil, And judges He maketh foolish. He bringeth counsellors to a foolish end, and judges to insensibility. He leadeth counselors away spoiled, and maketh the judges fools.
Job 12:18He undoes the chains of kings, and puts his band on them; The bands of kings He hath opened, And He bindeth a girdle on their loins. He looseth the belt of kings, and girdeth their loins with a cord.He looseth the bond of kings, and girdeth their loins with a girdle.
Job 12:19He makes priests prisoners, overturning those in safe positions;Causing ministers to go away a spoil And strong ones He overthroweth. He leadeth away priests without glory, and overthroweth nobles. He leadeth princes away spoiled, and overthroweth the mighty.
Job 12:20He makes the words of responsible persons without effect, and takes away the good sense of the old;Turning aside the lip of the stedfast, And the reason of the aged He taketh away.He changeth the speech of the true speakers, and taketh away the doctrine of the aged.He removeth away the speech of the trusty, and taketh away the understanding of the aged.
Job 12:21He puts shame on chiefs, and takes away the power of the strong;Pouring contempt upon princes, And the girdle of the mighty He made feeble. He poureth contempt upon princes, and relieveth them that were oppressed. He poureth contempt upon princes, and weakeneth the strength of the mighty.
Job 12:22Uncovering deep things out of the dark, and making the deep shade bright;Removing deep things out of darkness, And He bringeth out to light death-shade.He discovereth deep things out of darkness, and bringeth up to light the shadow of death. He revealeth deep things out of darkness, and bringeth to light the shades of death.
Job 12:23Increasing nations, and sending destruction on them; making wide the lands of peoples, and then giving them up.Magnifying the nations, and He destroyeth them, Spreading out the nations, and He quieteth them.He multiplieth nations, and destroyeth them, and restoreth them again after they were overthrown. He increaseth nations, and destroyeth them: he enlargeth nations, and straiteneth them again.
Job 12:24He takes away the wisdom of the rulers of the earth, and sends them wandering in a waste where there is no way.Turning aside the heart Of the heads of the people of the land, And he causeth them to wander In vacancy no way!He changeth the heart of the princes of the people of the earth, and deceiveth them that they walk in vain where there is no way.He taketh away the heart of the chief of the people of the earth, and causeth them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way.
Job 12:25They go feeling about in the dark without light, wandering without help like those overcome with wine. They feel darkness, and not light, He causeth them to wander as a drunkard. They shall grope as in the dark, and not in the light, and he shall make them stagger like men that are drunk. They grope in the dark without light, and he maketh them to stagger like a drunken man.
