Psalms 47:1<To the chief music-maker. A Psalm. Of the sons of Korah.> O make a glad noise with your hands, all you peoples; letting your voices go up to God with joy.To the Overseer. By sons of Korah. A Psalm. All ye peoples, clap the hand, Shout to God with a voice of singing,A psalm of a canticle, for the sons of Core, on the second day of the week.To the chief Musician, A Psalm for the sons of Korah. O clap your hands, all ye people; shout to God with the voice of triumph.
Psalms 47:2For the Lord Most High is to be feared; he is a great King over all the earth.For Jehovah Most High [is] fearful, A great king over all the earth.Great is the Lord, and exceedingly to be praised in the city of our God, in his holy mountain.For the LORD most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth.
Psalms 47:3He will put down the peoples under us, and the nations under our feet.He leadeth peoples under us, and nations under our feet.With the joy of the whole earth is mount Sion founded, on the sides of the north, the city of the great king.He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet.
Psalms 47:4He will give us our heritage, the glory of Jacob who is dear to him. (Selah.)He doth choose for us our inheritance, The excellency of Jacob that He loves. Selah.In her houses shall God be known, when he shall protect her.He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellence of Jacob whom he loved. Selah.
Psalms 47:5God has gone up with a glad cry, the Lord with the sound of the horn.God hath gone up with a shout, Jehovah with the sound of a trumpet.For behold the kings of the earth assembled themselves: they gathered together.God is gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.
Psalms 47:6Give praises to God, make songs of praise; give praises to our King, make songs of praise.Praise God praise give praise to our king, praise.So they saw, and they wondered, they were troubled, they were moved:Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises to our King, sing praises.
Psalms 47:7For God is the King of all the earth; make songs of praise with knowledge.For king of all the earth [is] God, Give praise, O understanding one.trembling took hold of them. There were pains as of a woman in labour.For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.
Psalms 47:8God is the ruler over the nations; God is on the high seat of his holy rule.God hath reigned over nations, God hath sat on His holy throne,With a vehement wind thou shalt break in pieces the ships of Tharsis.God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness.
Psalms 47:9The rulers of the peoples have come together, with the people of the God of Abraham; because the powers of the earth are God's: he is lifted up on high.Nobles of peoples have been gathered, [With] the people of the God of Abraham, For to God [are] the shields of earth, Greatly hath He been exalted!As we have heard, so have we seen, in the city of the Lord of hosts, in the city of our God: God hath founded it for ever.The princes of the people are assembled, even the people of the God of Abraham: for the shields of the earth belong to God: he is greatly exalted.
