How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts!
Psalms 84:2The passion of my soul's desire is for the house of the Lord; my heart and my flesh are crying out for the living God.My soul desired, yea, it hath also been consumed, For the courts of Jehovah, My heart and my flesh cry aloud unto the living God,Lord, thou hast blessed thy land: thou hast turned away the captivity of Jacob. My soul longeth, and even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.
Psalms 84:3The little birds have places for themselves, where they may put their young, even your altars, O Lord of armies, my King and my God.(Even a sparrow hath found a house, And a swallow a nest for herself, Where she hath placed her brood,) Thine altars, O Jehovah of Hosts, My king and my God.Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people: thou hast covered all their sins.Yes, the sparrow hath found a house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thy altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God.
Psalms 84:4Happy are they whose resting-place is in your house: they will still be praising you. (Selah.)O the happiness of those inhabiting Thy house, Yet do they praise Thee. Selah.Thou hast mitigated all thy anger: thou best turned away from the wrath of thy indignation.Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah.
Psalms 84:5Happy is the man whose strength is in you; in whose heart are the highways to Zion.O the happiness of a man whose strength is in Thee, Highways [are] in their heart.Convert us, O God our saviour: and turn off thy anger from us.Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.
Psalms 84:6Going through the valley of balsam-trees, they make it a place of springs; it is clothed with blessings by the early rain. Those passing through a valley of weeping, A fountain do make it, Blessings also cover the director.Wilt thou be angry with us for ever: or wilt thou extend thy wrath from generation to generation?Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.
Psalms 84:7They go from strength to strength; every one of them comes before God in Zion. They go from strength unto strength, He appeareth unto God in Zion.Thou wilt turn, O God, and bring us to life: and thy people shall rejoice in thee. They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.
Psalms 84:8O Lord God of armies, let my prayer come to you: give ear, O God of Jacob. (Selah.)O Jehovah, God of Hosts, hear my prayer, Give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.Shew us, O Lord, thy mercy; and grant us thy salvation.O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.
Psalms 84:9O God, let your eyes be on him who is our safe cover, and let your heart be turned to your king. Our shield, see, O God, And behold the face of Thine anointed,I will hear what the Lord God will speak in me: for he will speak peace unto his people: And unto his saints: and unto them that are converted to the heart.Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thy anointed.
Psalms 84:10For a day in your house is better than a thousand. It is better to be a door-keeper in the house of my God, than to be living in the tents of sin.For good [is] a day in Thy courts, O Teacher! I have chosen rather to be at the threshold, In the house of my God, Than to dwell in tents of wickedness.Surely his salvation is near to them that fear him: that glory may dwell in our land. For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a door-keeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
Psalms 84:11The Lord God is our sun and our strength: the Lord will give grace and glory: he will not keep back any good thing from those whose ways are upright. For a sun and a shield [is] Jehovah God, Grace and honour doth Jehovah give. He withholdeth not good To those walking in uprightness.Mercy and truth have met each other: justice and peace have kissed. For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
Psalms 84:12O Lord of armies, happy is the man whose hope is in you.Jehovah of Hosts! O the happiness of a man trusting in Thee.Truth is sprung out of the earth: and justice hath looked down from heaven.O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.
