Song-of-Solomon 1:1The song of Songs, which is Solomon's.The Song of Songs, that [is] Solomon`s.Let him kiss me with the kiss of his mouth: for thy breasts are better than wine,The song of songs, which is Solomon's.
Song-of-Solomon 1:2Let him give me the kisses of his mouth: for his love is better than wine.Let him kiss me with kisses of his mouth, For better [are] thy loves than wine.Smelling sweet of the best ointments. Thy name is as oil poured out: therefore young maidens have loved thee.Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine.
Song-of-Solomon 1:3Sweet is the smell of your perfumes; your name is as perfume running out; so the young girls give you their love. For fragrance [are] thy perfumes good. Perfume emptied out thy name, Therefore have virgins loved thee!Draw me: we will run after thee to the odour of thy ointments. The king hath brought me into his storerooms: we will be glad and rejoice in thee, remembering thy breasts more than wine: the righteous love thee.Because of the savor of thy good ointments thy name is as ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love thee.
Song-of-Solomon 1:4Take me to you, and we will go after you: the king has taken me into his house. We will be glad and full of joy in you, we will give more thought to your love than to wine: rightly are they your lovers.Draw me: after thee we run, The king hath brought me into his inner chambers, We do joy and rejoice in thee, We mention thy loves more than wine, Uprightly they have loved thee!I am black but beautiful, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, as the tents of Cedar, as the curtains of Solomon.Draw me, we will run after thee: the king hath brought me into his chambers; we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy love more than wine: the upright love thee.
Song-of-Solomon 1:5I am dark, but fair of form, O daughters of Jerusalem, as the tents of Kedar, as the curtains of Solomon.Dark [am] I, and comely, daughters of Jerusalem, As tents of Kedar, as curtains of Solomon.Do not consider me that I am brown, because the sun hath altered my colour: the sons of my mother have fought against me, they have made me the keeper in the vineyards: my vineyard I have not kept.I am black, but comely, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, as the tents of Kedar, as the curtains of Solomon.
Song-of-Solomon 1:6Let not your eyes be turned on me, because I am dark, because I was looked on by the sun; my mother's children were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vine-gardens; but my vine-garden I have not kept.Fear me not, because I [am] very dark, Because the sun hath scorched me, The sons of my mother were angry with me, They made me keeper of the vineyards, My vineyard my own I have not kept.Shew me, O thou whom my soul loveth, where thou feedest, where thou liest in the midday, lest I begin to wander after the flocks of thy companions.Look not upon me, because I am black, because the sun hath looked upon me: my mother's children were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards; but my own vineyard have I not kept.
Song-of-Solomon 1:7Say, O love of my soul, where you give food to your flock, and where you make them take their rest in the heat of the day; why have I to be as one wandering by the flocks of your friends?Declare to me, thou whom my soul hath loved, Where thou delightest, Where thou liest down at noon, For why am I as one veiled, By the ranks of thy companions? If thou know not thyself, O fairest among women, go forth, and follow after the steps of the flocks, and feed thy kids beside the tents of the shepherds.Tell me, O thou whom my soul loveth, where thou feedest, where thou makest thy flock to rest at noon: for why should I be as one that turneth aside by the flocks of thy companions?
Song-of-Solomon 1:8If you have not knowledge, O most beautiful among women, go on your way in the footsteps of the flock, and give your young goats food by the tents of the keepers. If thou knowest not, O fair among women, Get thee forth by the traces of the flock, And feed thy kids by the shepherds` dwellings! To my company of horsemen, in Pharao's chariots, have I likened thee, O my love.If thou knowest not, O thou fairest among women, go forth by the footsteps of the flock, and feed thy kids beside the shepherds tents.
Song-of-Solomon 1:9I have made a comparison of you, O my love, to a horse in Pharaoh's carriages. To my joyous one in chariots of Pharaoh, I have compared thee, my friend,Thy cheeks are beautiful as the turtledove's, thy neck as jewels.I have compared thee, O my love, to a company of horses in Pharaoh's chariots.
Song-of-Solomon 1:10Your face is a delight with rings of hair, your neck with chains of jewels.Comely have been thy cheeks with garlands, Thy neck with chains. We will make thee chains of gold, inlaid with silver.Thy cheeks are comely with rows of jewels, thy neck with chains of gold.
Song-of-Solomon 1:11We will make you chains of gold with ornaments of silver.Garlands of gold we do make for thee, With studs of silver! While the king was at his repose, my spikenard sent forth the odour thereof. We will make for thee borders of gold with studs of silver.
Song-of-Solomon 1:12While the king is seated at his table, my spices send out their perfume. While the king [is] in his circle, My spikenard hath given its fragrance.A bundle of myrrh is my beloved to me, he shall abide between my breasts. While the king sitteth at his table, my spikenard sendeth forth its smell.
Song-of-Solomon 1:13As a bag of myrrh is my well-loved one to me, when he is at rest all night between my breasts.A bundle of myrrh [is] my beloved to me, Between my breasts it lodgeth.A cluster of cypress my love is to me, in the vineyards of Engaddi.A bundle of myrrh is my well beloved to me; he shall lie all night betwixt my breasts.
Song-of-Solomon 1:14My love is to me as a branch of the cypress-tree in the vine-gardens of En-gedi.A cluster of cypress [is] my beloved to me, In the vineyards of En-Gedi!Behold thou art fair, O my love, behold thou art fair, thy eyes are as those of doves. My beloved is to me as a cluster of camphor in the vineyards of En-gedi.
Song-of-Solomon 1:15See, you are fair, my love, you are fair; you have the eyes of a dove.Lo, thou [art] fair, my friend, Lo, thou [art] fair, thine eyes [are] doves!Behold thou art fair, my beloved, and comely. Our bed is flourishing.Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes.
Song-of-Solomon 1:16See, you are fair, my loved one, and a pleasure; our bed is green.Lo, thou [art] fair, my love, yea, pleasant, Yea, our couch [is] green,The beams of our houses are of cedar, our rafters of cypress trees.Behold, thou art fair, my beloved, yes, pleasant: also our bed is green.
Song-of-Solomon 1:17Cedar-trees are the pillars of our house; and our boards are made of fir-trees.The beams of our houses [are] cedars, Our rafters [are] firs, I [am] a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valleys! The beams of our house are cedar, and our rafters of fir.
