| Psalms 6:1 | <To the chief music-maker on corded instruments, on the Sheminith. A Psalm. Of David.> O Lord, do not be bitter with me in your wrath; do not send punishment on me in the heat of your passion. | To the Overseer with stringed instruments, on the octave. A Psalm of David. O Jehovah, in Thine anger reprove me not, Nor in Thy fury chastise me. | Unto the end, in verses, a psalm for David, for the octave. | |
| Psalms 6:2 | Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am wasted away: make me well, for even my bones are troubled. | Favour me, O Jehovah, for I [am] weak, Heal me, O Jehovah, For troubled have been my bones, | O Lord, rebuke me not in thy indignation, nor chastise me in thy wrath. | |
| Psalms 6:3 | My soul is in bitter trouble; and you, O Lord, how long? | And my soul hath been troubled greatly, And Thou, O Jehovah, till when? | Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am weak: heal me, O Lord, for my bones are troubled. | |
| Psalms 6:4 | Come back, O Lord, make my soul free; O give me salvation because of your mercy. | Turn back, O Jehovah, draw out my soul, Save me for Thy kindness` sake. | And my soul is troubled exceedingly: but thou, O Lord, how long? | |
| Psalms 6:5 | For in death there is no memory of you; in the underworld who will give you praise? | For there is not in death Thy memorial, In Sheol, who doth give thanks to Thee? | Turn to me, O Lord, and deliver my soul: O save me for thy mercy's sake. | |
| Psalms 6:6 | The voice of my sorrow is a weariness to me; all the night I make my bed wet with weeping; it is watered by the drops flowing from my eyes. | I have been weary with my sighing, I meditate through all the night [on] my bed, With my tear my couch I waste. | For there is no one in death, that is mindful of thee: and who shall confess to thee in hell? | |
| Psalms 6:7 | My eyes are wasting away with trouble; they are becoming old because of all those who are against me. | Old from provocation is mine eye, It is old because of all mine adversaries, | I have laboured in my groanings, every night I will wash my bed: I will water my couch with my tears. | |
| Psalms 6:8 | Go from me, all you workers of evil; for the Lord has given ear to the voice of my weeping. | Turn from me all ye workers of iniquity, For Jehovah heard the voice of my weeping, | My eye is troubled through indignation: I have grown old amongst all my enemies. | |
| Psalms 6:9 | The Lord has given ear to my request; the Lord has let my prayer come before him. | Jehovah hath heard my supplication, Jehovah my prayer receiveth. | Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity: for the Lord hath heard the voice of my weeping. | |
| Psalms 6:10 | Let all those who are against me be shamed and deeply troubled; let them be turned back and suddenly put to shame. | Ashamed and troubled greatly are all mine enemies, They turn back ashamed [in] a moment! | The Lord hath heard my supplication: the Lord hath received my prayer. | |
