Psalms 87:1<Of the sons of Korah. A Psalm. A Song.> This house is resting on the holy mountain.By sons of Korah. A Psalm, a song. Psalms 87:2The Lord has more love for the doors of Zion than for all the tents of Jacob.Jehovah is loving the gates of Zion Above all the tabernacles of Jacob.O Lord, the God of my salvation: I have cried in the day, and in the night before thee.Yahweh loves the gates of Zion More than all the dwellings of Jacob.
Psalms 87:3Noble things are said of you, O town of God. (Selah.)Honourable things are spoken in Thee, O city of God. Selah.Let my prayer come in before thee: incline thy ear to my petition.Glorious things are spoken about you, city of God. Selah.
Psalms 87:4Rahab and Babylon will be named among those who have knowledge of me; see, Philistia and Tyre, with Ethiopia; this man had his birth there.I mention Rahab and Babel to those knowing Me, Lo, Philistia, and Tyre, with Cush! This [one] was born there.For my soul is filled with evils: and my life hath drawn nigh to hell.I will record Rahab and Babylon among those who acknowledge me. Behold, Philistia, Tyre, and also Ethiopia: "This one was born there."
Psalms 87:5And of Zion it will be said, This or that man had his birth there; and the Most High will make her strong.And of Zion it is said: Each one was born in her, And He, the Most High, doth establish her.I am counted among them that go down to the pit: I am become as a man without help,Yes, of Zion it will be said, "This one and that one was born in her;" The Most High himself will establish her.
Psalms 87:6The Lord will keep in mind, when he is writing the records of the people, that this man had his birth there. (Selah.)Jehovah doth recount in the describing of the peoples, `This [one] was born there.` Selah.free among the dead. Like the slain sleeping in the sepulchres, whom thou rememberest no more: and they are cast off from thy hand.Yahweh will count, when he writes up the peoples, "This one was born there." Selah.
Psalms 87:7The players on instruments will be there, and the dancers will say, All my springs are in you.Singers also as players on instruments, All my fountains [are] in Thee!They have laid me in the lower pit: in the dark places, and in the shadow of death.Those who sing as well as those who dance say, "All my springs are in you."
