Psalms 27:1<Of David.> The Lord is my light and my salvation; who is then a cause of fear to me? the Lord is the strength of my life; who is a danger to me?By David. Jehovah [is] my light and my salvation, Whom do I fear? Jehovah [is] the strength of my life, Of whom am I afraid? The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?A psalm for David himself. Unto thee will I cry, O Lord: O my God, be not thou silent to me: lest thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit.
Psalms 27:2When evil-doers, even my haters, came on me to put an end to me, they were broken and put to shame. When evil doers come near to me to eat my flesh, My adversaries and mine enemies to me, They have stumbled and fallen. When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.Hear, O Lord, the voice of my supplication, when I pray to thee; when I lift up my hands to thy holy temple.
Psalms 27:3Even if an army came against me with its tents, my heart would have no fear: if war was made on me, my faith would not be moved.Though a host doth encamp against me, My heart doth not fear, Though war riseth up against me, In this I [am] confident.Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.Draw me not away together with the wicked; and with the workers of iniquity destroy me not: Who speak peace with their neighbour, but evils are in their hearts.
Psalms 27:4One prayer have I made to the Lord, and this is my heart's desire; that I may have a place in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, looking on his glory, and getting wisdom in his Temple. One [thing] I asked of Jehovah it I seek. My dwelling in the house of Jehovah, All the days of my life, To look on the pleasantness of Jehovah, And to inquire in His temple. One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.Give them according to their works, and according to the wickedness of their inventions. According to the works of their hands give thou to them: render to them their reward.
Psalms 27:5For in the time of trouble he will keep me safe in his tent: in the secret place of his tent he will keep me from men's eyes; high on a rock he will put me.For He hideth me in a tabernacle in the day of evil, He hideth me in a secret place of His tent, On a rock he raiseth me up.For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.Because they have not understood the works of the Lord, and the operations of his hands: thou shalt destroy them, and shalt not build them up.
Psalms 27:6And now my head will be lifted up higher than my haters who are round me: because of this I will make offerings of joy in his tent; I will make a song, truly I will make a song of praise to the Lord. And now, lifted up is my head, Above my enemies my surrounders, And I sacrifice in His tent sacrifices of shouting, I sing, yea, I sing praise to Jehovah. And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.Blessed be the Lord, for he hath heard the voice of my supplication.
Psalms 27:7O Lord, let the voice of my cry come to your ears: have mercy on me, and give me an answer.Hear, O Jehovah, my voice I call, And favour me, and answer me.Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me. The Lord is my helper and my protector: in him hath my heart confided, and I have been helped. And my flesh hath flourished again, and with my will I will give praise to him.
Psalms 27:8When you said, Make search for my face, my heart said to you, For your face will I make my search. To Thee said my heart `They sought my face, Thy face, O Jehovah, I seek.`When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek. The Lord is the strength of his people, and the protector of the salvation of his anointed.
Psalms 27:9Let not your face be covered from me; do not put away your servant in wrath; you have been my help: do not give me up or take your support from me, O God of my salvation.Hide not Thy face from me, Turn not aside in anger Thy servant, My help Thou hast been. Leave me not, nor forsake me, O God of my salvation.Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation. Save, O Lord, thy people, and bless thy inheritance: and rule them and exalt them for ever.
Psalms 27:10When my father and my mother are turned away from me, then the Lord will be my support. When my father and my mother Have forsaken me, then doth Jehovah gather me.When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.
Psalms 27:11Make your way clear to me, O Lord, guiding me by the right way, because of my haters.Shew me, O Jehovah, Thy way, And lead me in a path of uprightness, For the sake of my beholders.Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.
Psalms 27:12Do not give me into their hands, because false witnesses have come out against me, and men breathing destruction.Give me not to the will of my adversaries, For risen against me have false witnesses, And they breathe out violence to me.Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.
Psalms 27:13I had almost given up my hope of seeing the blessing of the Lord in the land of the living.I had not believed to look on the goodness of Jehovah In the land of the living!I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
Psalms 27:14Let your hope be in the Lord: take heart and be strong; yes, let your hope be in the Lord.Look unto Jehovah be strong, And He doth strengthen thy heart, Yea, look unto Jehovah!Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
