| Psalms 77:1 | <To the chief music-maker. After Jeduthun. Of Asaph. A Psalm.> I was crying to God with my voice; even to God with my voice, and he gave ear to me. | To the Overseer, for Jeduthun. A Psalm of Asaph. My voice [is] to God, and I cry, my voice [is] to God, And He hath given ear unto me. | I cried unto God with my voice, even unto God with my voice; and he gave ear unto me. | Understanding for Asaph. Attend, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth. |
| Psalms 77:2 | In the day of my trouble, my heart was turned to the Lord: my hand was stretched out in the night without resting; my soul would not be comforted. | In a day of my distress the Lord I sought, My hand by night hath been spread out, And it doth not cease, My soul hath refused to be comforted. | In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord: my sore ran in the night, and ceased not: my soul refused to be comforted. | I will open my mouth in parables: I will utter propositions from the beginning. |
| Psalms 77:3 | I will keep God in memory, with sounds of grief; my thoughts are troubled, and my spirit is overcome. (Selah.) | I remember God, and make a noise, I meditate, and feeble is my spirit. Selah. | I remembered God, and was troubled: I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah. | How great things have we heard and known, and our fathers have told us. |
| Psalms 77:4 | You keep my eyes from sleep; I am so troubled that no words come. | Thou hast taken hold of the watches of mine eyes, I have been moved, and I speak not. | Thou holdest mine eyes waking: I am so troubled that I cannot speak. | They have not been hidden from their children, in another generation. Declaring the praises of the Lord, and his powers, and his wonders which he hath done. |
| Psalms 77:5 | My thoughts go back to the days of the past, to the years which are gone. | I have reckoned the days of old, The years of the ages. | I have considered the days of old, the years of ancient times. | And he set up a testimony in Jacob: and made a law in Israel. How great things he commanded our fathers, that they should make the same known to their children: |
| Psalms 77:6 | The memory of my song comes back to me in the night; my thoughts are moving in my heart; my spirit is searching with care. | I remember my music in the night, With my heart I meditate, and my spirit doth search diligently: | I call to remembrance my song in the night: I commune with mine own heart: and my spirit made diligent search. | that another generation might know them. The children that should be born and should rise up, and declare them to their children. |
| Psalms 77:7 | Will the Lord put me away for ever? will he be kind no longer? | To the ages doth the Lord cast off? Doth He add to be pleased no more? | Will the Lord cast off for ever? and will he be favourable no more? | That they may put their hope in God and may not forget the works of God: and may seek his commandments. |
| Psalms 77:8 | Is his mercy quite gone for ever? has his word come to nothing? | Hath His kindness ceased for ever? The saying failed to all generations? | Is his mercy clean gone for ever? doth his promise fail for evermore? | That they may not become like their fathers, a perverse end exasperating generation. A generation that set not their heart aright: and whose spirit was not faithful to God. |
| Psalms 77:9 | Has God put away the memory of his pity? are his mercies shut up by his wrath? (Selah.) | Hath God forgotten [His] favours? Hath He shut up in anger His mercies? Selah. | Hath God forgotten to be gracious? hath he in anger shut up his tender mercies? Selah. | The sons of Ephraim who bend and shoot with the bow: they have turned back in the day of battle. |
| Psalms 77:10 | And I said, It is a weight on my spirit; but I will keep in mind the years of the right hand of the Most High. | And I say: `My weakness is, The changes of the right hand of the Most High.` | And I said, This is my infirmity: but I will remember the years of the right hand of the most High. | They kept not the covenant of God: and in his law they would not walk. |
| Psalms 77:11 | I will keep in mind the works of Jah: I will keep the memory of your wonders in the past. | I mention the doings of Jah, For I remember of old Thy wonders, | I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old. | And they forgot his benefits, and his wonders that he had shewn them. |
| Psalms 77:12 | I will give thought to all your work, while my mind goes over your acts of power. | And I have meditated on all Thy working, And I talk concerning Thy doings. | I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings. | Wonderful things did he do in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Tanis. |

Selah. | Thou hast with thine arm redeemed thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah. | He struck the rock in the wilderness: and gave them to drink, as out of the great deep. |
